Yea I've noticed that. I live right down the street from the tracks at Twin lakes. Used to always get stuck at the crossing coming home on the school bus in September. Now I hear it only once or twice a day,sometimes without it for a week. Mostly dumptrucks i guess this time of year...

Correct. For the nearly 50 years that I've been watching the line, they only blow the horn in an emergency. A good neighbor policy.

They are fairly rare in occurance pending the day and the work order,I live in North Branford. Less then 1/8th a mile away from it.

They make as many as 16 round trips per day,
in the busy season. In the winter, there's
little or no traffic.
