Interesting to hear Ted. Really stiff interview. Seeing the two of them in profile was crummy. I certainly would NOT watch other Dog Channel interviews after this.
I read all Dog Books I can get my hands on. Jon Katz got me started, as I am an animal lover. Animals are My sanity in this crazy world we live in. Their love is unconditional. "Merle's Door" was the best!!! I just got started on Pukka the pup after Merle. I love animals more then anything in this world. God surely blessed you with Merle. Thanks for writing about him. Diann Jacobson
I read this when i did an 8 day stint in jail for a dui. Had to read it at night because I didn't want the others to see my eyes watering up. I missed my dog
This is an incredibly insightful book, Ted references so many tidbits of knowledge for the reader... this just isn't "another book about a dog"- no matter how wonderful that in itself is, but this is an encyclopedia of knowledge peeking into the interwoven complexities of the world of canine and human.
YES! An amazing book. Ted captures the essence of dogs, teaches us about some of the history of the dog-human connection and does it through the heartwarming story of his life with Merle. Ted's "voice" comes through and kept me captivated. The story is never dull, keeps moving, and ends beautifully.
