I need some help with this version. I can't figure out how I'm supposed to play an 8 and a half tones stretch on the left hand. It's the F#A chord (the A being in the higher octave). I have a very short 5'th finger so should I continue to stretch my hand or just play the F an octave higher. It's sounds ok but I can't help feel a cheater :)
He plays with a VERY high finger action. Looks like a tarantula crawling over the keys at times! Still makes a lovely sound though, with great expression. Shame the accoustic is so reverberant. It tends to disguise his subtleties of touch.
I love this piece but will never play it as well as this!
@ Manonymous : I agree with you 100%... some wrote about Kissin , that he is junky ... and my answer to him was , he isn't cause he never goes to need some addiction except his music ... I was not against Kissin or young intelektuals people !! no I appriciat that what they do !! wish all of them good luck , and hope that any young or old one goes to need some drug !!

@Perkeno Bach himself wrote for the lute...Classical guitar does much justice to Bach's music: colour, nuance, intimacy and expression. You are the one who is uttering blasphemy by shitting on it. Hahahaha!
@Perkeno um... not in the slightest!!!! 1) Bach sounds great on ANY instrument at al: most of Bach's music was not really written in "idiomatic" style for any particular instrument, so it transposes very well., and 2) The guitar is an extremely expressive instrument, and many excellent transcriptions have been made for it. If you listen to someone like Williams or Kazuhito Yamashita play, it is as wonderful as any piano, viola or flute - and that's the opinion of MANY, not just a few.
Another proof that Bach's music fits into every style. Unbelievable. And brilliant performance, of course. The theme is simply sublime, even on a very low-fi recording.
somebody says this interpretation is too much like chopin's compositions more than bach's ones...but i think that the transcription by kempff had this "romantic" view of the piece...love it!

自分の表現したい音に行き着くには、自分の演奏を客観的に見て、自分の出している音を冷徹な目で見なければ行けません。
感情に任せた演奏は、自分の視点に偏り、リズムの狂いなどがあっても、それを、高度な技術だ、わざとそう弾いているなど、どんな極端な理屈や弁解も利用するでしょう。
自分の演奏に真っ正直になり、自己批判を続けた結果がこの教養豊かな表現を生み出してしると思いました。
３００年の時を超えて意思の疎通をしているかのような、印象を受けました。

@ofiterpunte Just do a quick roll. Rachmaninoff would roll all sorts of chords, even though his hand-span was monstrous.
