  • What the hell? For military purpose? Wrong use of technology!

  • ah the potential, look at the big picture! my farts could some day become perfume, spreading smiles across the room xD

And btw is magnets filled with infinite power? free energy? if its not, then we r fuckd, the earth is a magnet with 2 poles

  • WE NEED TO FUND THIS

  • This my friends,is the cure to the commom cold

  • this is already up n running, scary shit, they cannot even be destroyed by fire of great intensity and self replicate without the prompt of human directive... shakes my head, they easily sell this abomination to humankind by useing our emotions when the real reason this was-is produced is for war against our own... dispicable "problem created, emotional reaction, solution via mad scientists and war mongers, actually theyre best described as "CONTROL FREAKS"... we are getting sick b'coz of them.

  • fire has good and bad effects...... its just like everything else that's "the new" technology.

  • this was two years ago. today, enter graphine !!

  • Kaku's a great man but ain't no one putting and chips in me. Fuck that.

  • @flex077 like it or not. This is the future. lol

  • ain't no one putting any chips in me. Fuck that.

  • I want these so I don't need civilized infrastructure anymore.

  • Wow, this is awesome!!

  • !!!

  • One thing I know, money is a joke and will be laughed at one day. So many people slave and die for worthless paper every day.

  • that idiot in the end is totally unnecessary to this great, ''enlightening'' video. to bad he kinda ruined it in the end. I mean, you are looking Kaku as he explains nanobots and all this nice stuff that can save us, and then some redneck comes and say he's ''gonna target specific weapons or even individuals'', stupid moron

  • Nano-weapons is a disastrous idea, you know one day we're going to destroy ourselves.

  • Fascinating! However i can`t help thinking about foreign bodies(nano robots) in your body triggering rejection..then what happens?.

  • so then cryonics is a feasible science. Cryonics could get a person to a future where nanotechnology exists then those people would simply wake up with new bodies regardless of weither it takes 30 yrs or 3000 yrs for nanotechnology to develope. Another words anyone alive today could live thousands of yrs and see the future if the sign up for cryonics. Talk about the ultimate second chance for anyone who might die before nanotech happens.

  • this might become really dangerous technology imagine a virus made of nano particles that is self aware and intellegent , that adopts quickly.....

  • @Cardan011 there is a limit to how intellegent these robots can get the kind of programing needed and data would require a outside computer so nano machines will have simple intellegence

  • @Cardan011 Let me know when laptops start taking over a house, then I'll consider the possibility of this.

  • amazing. can't wait for the future. Moving too small if you ask me!

  • I say replace the body entirely with nanotechnology... the brain is a quantum computer, our eyes are cameras and so on and so forth.. hell even muscles can be synthesized!

  • @melis256 Eventually when every part of your body is replaced by circuitry, who will you become?

  • @CyberBushBush

Exactly what I already am, a machine.. just, the nanotechnology one is speedier which makes it easier to customize.

  • @melis256 I agree. After all there is not a single atom in our bodies that we had when we were born yet we are the same people.

  • @CyberBushBush

Like, already.. some cameras have a higher megapixel count than the eye.

And the eye has flaws like blood-vessels in front of the retina which obscures sight at long distances.

  • Fuck that last guy. Using nanotech to harm is terrible.

  • @naesnavillus A guaranteed one world government (Type 1 civilization)? No thank you. I'd rather have a bunch of assholes running things instead of only one.

  • but how do magnets work?

  • @Pennyinmouth take physics course and you'll understand

  • @themantien obvious didnt get the joke is obvious. why dont you take a troll course and you'll understand

  • lol sorry i get it now there is no such thing as evil fine but when it goes bad its your fault

  • The implications of nanotechnology are truly amazing. Nanbots inside our body repairing tissue and preventing disease like the ones talked about in this video, Super small and super powerful photonic computer processors, Water filters that filter on a molecular level, Super strong/light and flexible materials, 'invisible' materials, nanofibers and computers that can essentially power them selves from nothing. the list is endless; however these kind of developments are many, many generations away

  • Wow..moving bacteria around..you can also have it watch American Idol.

  • Michio Kaku FTW

  • cloak engaged! srry had to say something.

  • so when and where can i purchase nanotechnology to patrol my bloodstream?

  • everyone must die

  • I know if my child was diegnosed with brain cancer and it was deamed inoperable by conventional surgury, and nano-technology was the only option I would say do it. This is the future, and this has the potential for medical cures that could never be fixed with a drug. and think about the dwindeling rain forest where they get the pharmasuticals from, once its gone, this will be the only viable option, think about that! I believe without research into this technology the human race might disapear.

  • michio kaku is a GOD..

  • you ARE God, Kaku...

  • wow i never knew that we were this advanced .

  • Like a god...like a god Mr.Kaku

  • @diegonikki LOL , you are an idiot ,,,

  • @diegonikki If you know so much than wouldn't it be better to reveal your vast knowledge to others so that they will believe you? if you're keeping knowledge to yourself and not doing anything about a problem that you have the knowledge to stop is that not just as bad and would also make you an "evil" person?

  • We already have nukes. Do we really need new, neato-cool looking ways to kill each other? Personally, I'd rather that futuristic weapons remain in the realm of science fiction, while we pursue the betterment of ourselves through reason, humanitarianism, and technology, both as individuals and a species.

  • lol generator rex

  • curing diseases also bring forth other problems...

  • Great vide except for John Alexander talkin a the end. Nano weapons, what a fucking retarded idea. Would not be easier to just learn how to make friends. Why are the fucking loners in charge of our government and militaries???

  • @albertoohogain Agreed. I'm a technologist myself and back nano tech 100%, it would do a lot of good if given the chance. But you have to understand that as long as there are men there will be war. It's in our genes to kill one another.

  • @dellthinker Or... So long as there are unloved and uneducated men there will be war ; ) I don't think it's in our genes to kill each other, it's dangerous to say such things. Is it even scientifically proven?? I just think it's a natural part of our development but we will, overcome this just as we overcome many of our superstitions and traditional mentality. Just keep in mind the words of Carl Sagan, an organism at war with itself, is doomed.

  • @albertoohogain

Most people who were starting wars were educated. So if those men would be drafted they would suddenly not fight? We know more, we are less prone to war. I'm certain (in the future) we are capable of sustaining peace for centuries, but sooner or later.

  • @albertoohogain true that. To every great Invention a weapon was created from it. Shame really.... we could be spending the time, money and will power on beneficial things...

  • @mostrone32 Absolutely : ) Personally, i feel Resource Based Economy is one very significant step towards a much more positive holistic system for us to live in and live well without any negative effects on our beautiful home.

  • @albertoohogain Becouse your a BITCHS ASS

  • Comment removed

  • @albertoohogain geeks + Freaks

  • @albertoohogain Very good questions. My most informed answer, in a word, is dominance.

The loners seek to produce weapons from this illustrious field of engineering as a substitute for the unconventional hydrogen bomb. "Nanoweapons" would do the same amount of destruction but with far less cleanup. The loners think that friends are too expensive to keep.

  • This Nanotech will wipe out our species. Im sure of it.

  • @GeneralRdot09

    How about curing cancerous cells?

  • Or we could just start eating healthy, working out, and avoiding stress. Easier said then done for some people but the point is made...

  • I'm pretty sure Michio Kaku is an actual real Space Alien...

  • I can imagine nanotechnology used by governments to control their people. I know there are always pros and cons of things.. .but sometimes life is more simple w/o all these super high tech machines and technologies. I mean we are glued onto our computers today, what happened to a family sitting around a radio box and just listen to it for entertainment, and kids are outside more often playing sports? We're doomed!!

  • I know schools like Georgia Tech where this is being researched and studied on.

  • As technology becomes better within the future, Nanotechnology will have the capacity to allow a human being to live longer. These type of devices can really open up the medical field.

  • so now besides internal youth we have a inkling or a theory that we can over come incurable diseases, the only thing left after that is being immortal to physical factors in which if we get our arm blown of it should be able to regenerate, impossible? I don't think so since there is already a known species on earth that are known to be immortal from the regeneration system.

  • Emagine that one touch of a button and your dead?

  • Why don't we have more politicians like this dude, or at least journalists and news analysts instead of retarded people like Beck, Palin, and Limbaugh.

  • @CRISNCHIPS12398 Whatever

  • This is nonsense, if you want good health, eat healthy and meditate, because if you eat MCDonalds you deserve to be unhealthy, that's disrespect to your body

  • @1nV1nC1Bl3BaLaM Healthy eating and exercise doesn't stop cancer or Alzheimer's.

  • I WANT NANO TECH NOW

  • My nano liver bots are PISSED! I have to drink so much to make it through reading these comments that they have to work overtime to repair the damage!

  • scavange molecules from their enviorment and reproduce them selves that sounds dangerous, Why dont we make nano BEES for pollination I think they made them already? As Newton said for every positive we have a negative

  • WOAH!!!! So you mean I could take my laptop out in the forest and hook it up to a tree and get limetless electricity? Now that would be awesome :)

  • Nanotechnology could well be the key to immortality - think about it, programming these nano machines to repair damaged tissue, kill infections and even rid of fat cells - no more diabetes, cancers, alzeimer disease... and even more frightening than this whole fantasy of a nano army they have been hinting at the end of the documentary - the prevention of death itself!!!

  • 2150... The earth and its population are slaves to a main central computer,, the cause? nanotechnology. Humans began injecting themselves with tiny machines.. At first for medical purposes,,, then for total control.

  • To me Perfect Kind of exist. But not in the giant sizes like planets, humans, stars but in the quantum level. Like for example Atoms every single thing is made up of Atoms. And can you imagine you shrined down to that size and made a city that small? it will be perfect. Its to hard to explain, but imagine making a City the size of a nano with living organism its just mind blowing.

  • Makes you really wonder about Cryonics.....I guess they were right all along. People said they were crazy but Nanotech is an obvious path twards some day repairing these people. With Nanotechnology someday they will be able to wake up frozen people who were pronounced dead. Since every cell in a human being could be rebuilt at the molecular level, It would be the same as having perfect healing power and eternal youth.

  • and when AI seizes control of nano machine production and realizes that we, humans, are it's only threat... what then?

  • and of course, america has to use everything it can possibly get its hands on, as a weapon. We bastardize science. Disgusting. but wait...if we dont, the TERRORIST MIGHT WIN. idiots

  • omg wapons again so low thinking freaking war cave man -_-"

  • and if religious people represent gods descendant as a 3 by 1 foot entity of life (aka a human body) then whos god,

the universe is still 56billion lightyears in diamater.

    What a belief...

christianity and or islam is all indoctrined into individuals from birth. i pity those, those that cannot eject their religions, im sorry for you people.

but you know what im saying, so dont bother to react to my replies in case your are religious. it would make you look stupid.

  • but believing in the wrong ideas (earthly religions) doesnt represent god, and that is not what a religious man should belief in.

    even if jesus christ existed,

even if he existed by the name he carries in our books as a prophet, (which is nothing more then a fairy tale) but even if he did,

    it wouldnt have represented god,

if someone came from the heavens, it coud have been millions of diversions of alien species,

you might hardly belief it was god,

  • big story shortened.

if u got a bible or a koran, or any other human written religious book, throw it away,

    do never sell it,

caus it will spread the wrong tales, the wrong ideas trough our societys.

if you choose to belief at all, then belief in your own way, a bible is written by disciples (and are humans), and a church is also build by humans, god has and had nothing to do with it. written religion is wrong, believing it isnt wrong cause believing is correct.

  • if u were speaking to mr michio kaku himself, he would probably tell you exactly the same thing.

    believe, and imagine.

but dont take indian, arab, and or christian tales for granted. theyre written by humans, and humans do not represent god,

    so it is invalid.

  • Okay, so how do the nanobots come out of your body once it is destroyed?

  • The part from 8.00 makes me feel very SAD. It's so contradictive and hopeless...They take for granted the existence of future wars (!), and are so eager to kill people with new technology by "pitching" their blood vessels (!). And they have no problem saying that! Technology advances but humans are as stupid as before, but more and more dangerous as the time goes. Perhaps the fate of the human species is not so bright.

  • @ImASpyBot

Humans cant make the step to civ type 1 if they learn from things they do. example: if we dont kill like 50% or 70% of humans in 1 world war, we will not say war wont make as achieve our goals or war is not a option to any conflict. as long as numbers stay at 1 or 2 mil we will continue to make wars. at ww2 we were actually close to learn a hard lesson, but as far i know, ww3 will make us to make the step to civ type 1, at least if we still there after ww3 ^^

  • @ImASpyBot

Thats wehat michio means, there will be wars, till the day we allmost eliminate the human kind from this earth, after we will learn that war is no option to Anything we want or need. i guess till we had ww3 nothing will change. this wars we see now are nothing compared to whats coming. ww3 will come,we will have wars till the day we go to a higher civ type. thats indeed sad.

  • Who the fuck cares about warfare??!???! That guy's an idiot, thinking the Earth will be better of with more weapons.

  • thnk about warfare with nanotech.......nano-cells that invade the enemies body and destroys it from inside, but richer country have guard cells inside that protect them from these invaders lol

  • that guy with the hat is a bad man

  • hahaha science

  • @JargonSauce

just 40 years all of your todays habits were laughable, there is no telling how insane science will be in 100, 1000s and 10,000 years unless we destroy ourselves first.

  • @zauii89 Ecnomys around the world are colasping as we speak zegeist the movie look it up on youtube you will not be disapointed

  • @zauii89 you said it!

  • i wont have anything like that in me no never i tell you!!

  • i'm a guy and i wana look like young blond sexy girl 15 years old possible?? would make my day lol :D

  • @roberto25721 Umm, make a 15 year old blond girl in one of the many online mmorpgs that are out already :P

  • Oh man he is most likely going to end up getting Alzheimer's ..especially if his parents had it. It would be tragic to see Michio kaku become a forgetful, stupid, retarded.

  • Don't fear! Nanobot is Here!

thumbs up if you like my slogan <3 xD

  • I don't know if wanna major in mMlecular Biology or Computer Science lol, I like careers involved with both.

  • @HybridD91 Pick a Career that makes you rich....so you can buy all the FUTURE cool gadgets and services!!!!!

  • I love the fact that we can't stop progress/evolution of science even if we tried :) Go nano tech.

  • heroin and nano treats

  • How do we Reset the Firm Wear on these little buggars...?

  • anybody know where i could get the sequel to this? it cuts off before being finished

  • Michio Kaku for the next president

    Thumbs up anyone?

  • @naesnavillus It is a good idea to put the smartest at the top. President is mostly a job to deliver good speeches and look good on camera. President or advisor :)

  • @naesnavillus Here here, He's a genius

  • @naesnavillus ha, president... he could be pres. he talks about pie in he sky magic all day long and people call him brilliant. but i wouldnt vote for him. we dont need any more false promises.

america needs a war mongering psychotic who carreys a big stick and curses in the middle of the lords prayer. maybe even bring back the bellamy salute... google that. google the bellamy salute right now. then start waving a plastic american flag.

  • @inabilika hes smarter than you will ever be

  • @naesnavillus pfff, hes an idiot savant. just because he can articulate well on dozen cutting edge subjects dosnt mean hes working at the forfront of those schools of thought. if hes any kind of genious, its one of marketing, but i think i could still give him a run for his money in that arena.

  • @inabilika idk who you are, but if you have ever read any of his books you would know that this guy is a genius with math, science, politics, ECT.

I'm also pretty sure hes not a savant lol

  • @naesnavillus savant, french for knowledgeable or something like that. like i said, he speaks well but hes not a practitioner of what he preaches, unless he dosnt sleep nights.

but i digress, its not that i dont like the guy. its just that he spends more time preaching about high technology we just dont need. if we talked about irigation and mass transit rather then time travel and nano mechanics then i wouldnt be so harsh. he may not sell as many books, but the world may turn for the better.

  • @inabilika Nanomachines could possibly be used in irrigation (programmed to do the labor) or Mass Transit (self-maintaining vehicles) as well as greatly improving average human health and potential lifespan. Really, the possibilities of nanotechnology are vast. I believe that though we may not have the ability to always use our technology responsibily, I do think we are capable of surviving our own accidents and follies as a species

  • Comment removed

  • @naesnavillus Not with Congress still in power. The whole presidency will be depressing and will stress this man out.

  • @naesnavillus I think he was born outside the US so he can't. Oh and he's either not a white trash multi-billionaire who thinks he's God...

  • @Giardello actually he actually could run because he was born in San Jose,California and if he were ever for some reason run for president i'd definitely vote for him

  • the imbalance of moral level and the advance technologies will only bring disaster. I can feel people are still not yet ready with high technology. By the time we developing the technologies, please be remind that train yourself to have greater soul. i just don wan to see we destroying our self in future... regards...

  • There is a lot of good that can come from this type of technology and I would love to see the GOOD applications of it, however the bad side of it being used as a weapon is the stuff of nightmares....

  • I am interested in seeing the field of nano tech grow however I feel it can be potentially very devastating depending on who has control of the nanos inside your body. Can you imagine if a terrorist for example got a hold of control and could have the nanos kill a person, or in a war a government hacking into another government held nano database and killing off a entire population?

  • he is Carl Sagan in new form.

  • Look at this amazing technology... and then..... look how we can kill people with it

  • this film cuts off pretty fast anybody know where i can see where this vid continues? it ends about to tell the DANGERS of nano tech.

  • that is one lucky lab tech getting visited by michio kaku. In my opinion having michio kaku visit one's lab if one is a scientist is as big an honor as having one's chess club visited by gary kasperov.

  • so that is how RF ID chip is made.

  • @dan020350 That chip has been out for years and is to big to be consider nanotechnology. So I doubt the same process is used to make it.

  • of course all this comes from R&D paid for by our tax dollars in the military/corporate welfare system we live under, then the profits will be privatized to corporate tyrannies. and of course the military is more interested in how they can use it to destroy things. when are we going to make them stop? it gets old.

  • @doston1 nano technology is both amazing and frightening when you take into account whos going to be wielding this technology, as long as our governments act in the interest of their controling institutions then this technology is bound to be misused for military purposes..etc and its positive uses (medicinal, environmental..etc) will be held back if it in anyway negatively effects said institutions, this is inevitable in the system in which we all live................. sucks doesnt it

  • @Lukeazade11135

The cavemen didn't live to about 25. That is the life expectancy, which is a mean, not a median. Age isn't a normally distributed parameter. People got a lot older if they didn't die as an infant. This is also quite obvious if you look at similar cultures of the present.

  • @Lukeazade11135

    OMG! i see the future!!!!

the world war 4 is gonna be rough. all the nano bots and robots, nuclear weapons and all sorts of crazy things killing people. lol... just in my fantasy.

  • Wouldnt the white blood cells destroy these nano techs, thinking that they are intruders? and if a white blood cell cannot destroy it, then more and more will be produced to stop the nano techs. this will result even more disease if that happens because the body will suffer a total exaustion as a result of producing massive amount of white blood cells. that would be a big trouble!

  • this is sooo cool!

  • Nanotechnology has horrible risks and scientists are dumb enough to start any catastrophe possible. Chernobyl. Australia's rabbits. Contergan. Forsmark. Nukes. BP oil vulcano.

  • Comment removed

  • @ninvirus

Obviously you have no scientific backround which explains your rampant lack of logical thinking. Safety is a sine qua non in a technological enviroment, it's not a premium. You can't balance it with (perceived) advantages the same way you can't balance total extinction by grey goo with a new porn iPhone App. Greed is a human emotion not an agent. Whether greed plays an important role - which it does not in this respect - is irrelevant. Your babble is naive - at best.

  • @trakkaton

u r absolutely right! our body might suffer a lot in order to create a massive amount of white blood cells to stop the nano techs thinking that they r intruders.

the white blood cells might attak the nano machines thinking that they are bacteria or something.

  • @sandeshpaudel

The problem is that most particles used in nanotechnology are too small to be captured by antibodies. Even very big ones can be too strange to have a corresponding binding partner. They resemble more a new form of toxin, less a new form of organism. But unlike other toxins mammal bodies didn't have millions of years to adapt to them. Some damage will only be found decades after the introduction of certain substances, and this in a fast developing area of research. It spells doom.

  • Eres tu su unica desepcion

  • Dude freaking clone this guy already!!!!!!!

  • the first microorganism on earth was created by a being of our capability and knowledge and intelligence in the future. we've already created synthetic life and now this added to it we may be able to create organism and implant them on planets so that they can evolve and the cylce repeats

  • I hope I live long enough to experience the benefits of nanotechnology... hopefully these benefits will keep me alive even longer

  • wow i think back 15-25 years in the past where mobile phones had the size of a milk package.. and now we have are creating nanobots that can go into our blood circulatory system .. WOW!

  • The idea of nanomachines as an effective weapons system is preposterous: nanobots, unlike nuclear weapons, can be stymied by countermeasures even after they reach the target. Non-nuclear EMP weapons (yes, we're already developing them) could clear large areas of nanobots without killing anyone or destroying cities, high-voltage ionizing field circuits in air vents could protect sealed shelters, armoured vehicles, and electromagnetic pulses could even be used to treat victims after infection.

  • Shit's startin to get Metal Gear Solid.

  • we r the borg

  • michio kaku is awesome... he makes complicated science understandable... he explains it very well unlike other scientist or physicist...

  • There is definatly no reason to be scared because it will happen one way or another. But if anybody is stupid enough to beleive that this will not be used for military purposes is also blind to history and reality itself. Hopefully it will be like atomic weapons today though, only used as war deterents, and kept out of the hands of the wrong people.

  • if michio kaku was a lecturer in my classes, that would be great, the lecturers in my classes don't .. i can't understand what they say, but michio kaku always talks very well, and it's easy to follow...

  • I really hope nanotech won't be used like in MGS4... Will humans be wise to keep themselves healthy and safe from any war threat?

  • this is some of the most inavative thinking in the world and the only think they are trying to do is help people like yourselves, so i ask you why in the world would ANYONE want these people to fail, and besides you cant get passed moors law because its never failed and is actually accelerating every moment where on the planet this will be reality within out life time, they estimate within the next 20-30 years possible matter manipulation in 40.

  • Borg

  • crazytalk

  • nonsense.. organic motivation

and mechanic motivation are two seperate entities.. the whole overall basis

of this was loose...further more.. the cellular scale and atomic scale don't share the same demension.

  • What I don't like is the feeling I get that nanotechnology will sometime create a war and be used as a weapon tool. When it comes to cur
