We were sold as property, separated from our families, our mothers, sisters and daughters raped, Black men killed and ostracized just for being Black. You have to be from another planet to think that Black people in this country has an advantage over other races. Over 100 million were enslaved, died during the slave trade.

These skits are a throwback to Blackface Minstrelsy were a white person would do skits with their faces painted. These shows were often very degrading and racist towards Black people. What makes Blackface Minstrelsy:

•A white actor portrays a Blackman with the use of make up to change their skin color.

•The character portrayed by this actor is of an unintelligent, ignorant Blackman.

•This character portrayed by this actor is unable to formulate any intelligent thoughts or solve any problems

Supposedly SNL offered Senator Obama a "rebuttal" skit but he declined (according to the NYT 3/12/08). If I were him I probably wouldn't want to waste my time on people who are so blatantly biased. Why help them increase their rating and national profile.

Yeah, that cartoon was really, really offensive. I can't believe how much crap Senator Obama has to go through just b/c of his ethnic background. And it's too bad that Amy Poehler is so much more likable than the actor who plays BO.

The producer and the writer claim they're not pro-Clinton but you would need to suspense your sense of disbelief to believe they're telling the truth.

It's a shame how much influence SNL has. They know it and revel in it but they're so completely irresponsible.
