Bandslam bombed because the advertisement sucked. whoever was in charge of advertisement didn't know what the hell he/she was doing. they used her fame to sell it and made all the trailers seem like she was the main part of the movie when it wasn't actually centered around Vanessa's character, but her co-star(Gallen I think is his name) but they made it seem like it was all about her character.
