We have a mating pair of these birds out our work compound in Houston, TX at Beltway 8 and HWY 249. This year they had on baby, but last year they had two. They hang out right by our windows and are fun to watch.
I love birds! they are sooo amazing! Im glad this one was rescued and given another chance.. Whats the owl's story?? It doesnt seem fair to have a bird in such a loud expo!
Wow. You need to study up on bird behavior. From what I saw, those two birds could care less about the "loud upsetting room". Not only was the caracara preening, but the great horned in the background had a nice big feather rouse....two certain signs of contentment. Frightened or stressed birds don't behave like these two.
carcara is a tipical brazillian animal =)

Hurrah for BirkChick! Cracker is so gorgeous! How bizarre that's he's missing wing bones, he's lucky someone found him.

I love birds, too.
And I kind of feel bad for these two. They're like zoo animals on display.
A loud, upsetting room, just so people can be near birds. Sheesh.

I wish the Raptor Center had a caracara and/or kite, but I guess that is out of the range of their educational reach.
