The most important thing to remember about living in Chiang Mai is that in the months of March and April the air pollution here is one of the worst in the world.
Nice Nice Video. I really loved your video. Youtube can be a great asset for you. If you need any help getting your video exposed, check out this site called tubeviews [dot net] It has really done wonders for me, I have built 3 Channels up with videos at top in position and this is my forth channel i'm going to working on.
2. start a Thai limited company - the company may then buy land and property or have built. currently (March 2009), there is no requirement for a Thai limited company to have a Thai director.
Point two isn't a more complex process - it's simply a different process. If someone is more concerned about being screwed by a future wife, than actually assessing her character more thoroughly beforehand, then he shouldn't be getting married anyway.
If he simply wants to own a Thai property freehold land and all, then route two has got to be the safer choice.
You're question's a bit vague but I'll do my best.
1. You need to decide before you marry whether your wife to be is likely to screw you in the event of a divorce. Broadly speaking, the same rules apply world-wide when couples split. Thailand is no different in this regard.
2. If however your Thai Ltd company buys an asset, unless she is a director of that company she has no legal claim against it or it's assets.
Remember: A Thai Ltd company is considered a separate entity under their laws.

mcguire70's comment is a bit thin.
there are two ways.
1. marry one of their women or men.
2. start a Thai limited company - the company may then buy land and property or have built. currently (March 2009), there is no requirement for a Thai limited company to have a Thai director.

I wasn't intending to give definitive information just some general answers.
if someone wants the definitive bible answer, speak to Thailand's department of immigration or a real estate professional or both
