  • We'll at least they can thank the americans for their freedom..:) (I am being sarcastic)

  • Hey u, I feel so shameful because u r Iraqi Dentist like me&my wife(graduated&married 5years ago) we r outside Iraq & I feel it's inappropriate to put my arm on her shoulder when we r out unlike u, how dare u put urselves hugging each other on the net(that's why God screwed Iraq because of idiot guys like you) I have seen many guys in college that were nothing but scum bags but none did like you do, u r disgrace for Arabic Muslim Iraqi Dentists

  • hey man im an iraqi girl i live abroud i left iraq a year ago i love the vidos u guys r making bas saif seriously how could u do that???video type the girl u love and wonna marry and put it so everybody can see her?? and watch u kissing her!we r iraqis man(arabsss)u don't do that we r different talk in english,be free, bas don't vielate our traditions

  • Oh grow up. Its a little bit of kissing- how old are you?

  • Homeland Baghdad is excellent. It gives Iraq youth an interesting means of constructive communication. Americas can see most middle-east people are not terrorist. Most people and all religions want peace. So we the People of the World need to find away to purge ourselves of war mongers and terrorist. If we keep taking "an eye for and eye" the whole world will soon become blind!!!

  • WOW. you are worried your parents haven't met? Such polite and respectable attributes. then U say, 'hey, its a formality' thats cool. I like that you know she's your soul mate. but you still want to formalize it with the folks.. That sort of respect for ones parents/elders, was lost a long time ago in the USA. I wish you well! And congrats on the nuptuals! Deb in California ;o)

  • God bless Iraq...

  • that sux, we think we have it bad here and i watch this and it blows my mind.

  • The irony of scenes vs words is great.

  • I hope they meet again, but 3 months can seem a lot longer in Iraq.

  • I hope you are reunited soon. I am in love too and I can't imagine being separated for 3 months. God bless you.

  • hi man have a good luck bro

    am your bro aws al-kaissi

  • Saif go ahead and enjoy love. Noor is a beautiful women and you should be proud of having such a beautiful and progressive lady on your side.

  • passionate love conquers all

  • make love not war like 300 pound of it

  • that food looked good

  • The actions of the people in this video do not represent the actions of any other Iraqis. Women in Iraq possess high levels of self respect and would never voluntarily allow themselves to be filmed in compromising situations or be degraded in this fashion. Most men in Iraq highly respect women and would never allow the women in their lives to be filmed in private or intimate moments.

  • I really love to be free from all those social stupidities. I am a latino and we used to be like that and believe me I am happy to free from social and religious nonsense.

  • jadajadajada. SHutup. How about men having self-respect?

  • War and Love

  • I have been watching the hometown baghdad series and out of all of them i like this one the most. and i wish you too the best.

  • Hi Saif

I am a dentist too, graduated from the same college about 10 years ago, Till this movie I liked all of you and felt sorry about you all and about my country of course, But to be honest with you, this movie doesn't reflect the real tradition in Iraq, the love is great and I loved before and got married, But I don't accept other people to see me kissing and huging my lovely woman, I am not an extremist person I am noramal Iraqi man left Iraq only 2 years ago......

  • I totaly agree with you adilsalim, I left Iraq more than two years ago and had a GF for four years, No one knew about it. it's wors now then every, I have a friend, his sister works at the ministry of Helth and she said it's full with shiat religious leard's pictures and Latmiat(there songs), they forced my friend's sister to wear the head scarf or the vail. It sucks there, and I mean Big time

  • excuse me but when you talk about iraqis please don't make any gaps..no different between sunna and shia and wen u talk bout someones religion make sure you respect it .. so that they respect urs too. thank you

  • the music is great

  • hey guys i'm from Turkey, i know life is shity down there but i see lots of food on the table those foods was yummyy...i miss turkish food i'm sure most ofthem smillar to Iraq food... by the way dont wait to much for getting married with her...life is so good even in the shity place or in the heaven. you better enjoy ever second with your lover...god bleess all of you....

  • This video doesn't represent the Iraqi society !!!

  • i hope you guys can meet up again soon... and get married. is there any plans for you to leave the country, man?

  • May God bring you together :)

tunachunks you souldn't, it's not really your fault .. I dont think that there's someone to blame, its a whole lot of a big mess!

  • I wish you guys all the best.

  • Yay, I've been watching the Hometown Bagdad series (not in order) and this is the first I've seen with a woman in it. YAY!

  • man I feel so bad for this guy. life sucks there but you can't stop true love.

  • Congratulations on you on comming up engagement.

  • All the love from an iraqi outside of iraq- i wish you guys the very best and hope you are reunited very soon

  • Life might be shit, but this is some seriosly powerful stuff. THIS is why this site was made, this is what the internet is for. Easily the most important collection of videos on YouTube. Thank you very, very much Saif, and I hope all the best for you and your fiance.

  • I feel guilty for being british , and embarrased.

  • Have you heard of george galloway?

  • you shouldn't aye!

  • mumtaaz!

  • aww i hope you will reunite with your love very soon

  • this video is great. it shows the little-seen human side of the middle east, albeit people from a "rich" family (by iraqi standards of course).

it's saddening that america never gets to see the human side; they just see the terrorist side.

  • This is so great -- thank you for sharing your lives! Let's hope we can get the world to calm down - to start to see each other as we are... just hopeing to live our lives in peace.

  • Good job buddy! I hope it is not something that is perfectly scripted. If it was, heck it is still good. Show other side of us to the world.

  • thank you for taking the risk and making these videos. i'm waiting for more.

  • I really feel bad for you guys for having such a bad situation in your country. Even though, there is so much violence going on over there, you still found your true love. It sucks that you cannot truly enjoy yourselves going out and such without having that small chance of dying because of a suicide bomber or something else that is very stupid. Good luck to both of you.

  • She's a hot girlfriend, good for you! I really enjoy this channel's videos. It is cool to see a glimpse of young people in baghdad direct from their point of view, not the US news point of view which rarely shows the ground level of what someone my age is experiencing over there. please keep it up, and don't pay any attention to the horrible / stupid comments on youtube that seem to show up on any iraqi based youtube videos.

    San Diego, CA USA

  • baila me esta rumba a ta gitana

  • Keep watching the show, you'll see what is happening to Saif in future.

  • Americans don't hate Iraqis, but a lot of people want to pull the troops out because they see the news which almost never reports anything that isn't a bombing or some other type of killing and as a result they think the terrorists represent normal Iraqis. And I try to explain that the stuff on the news represents an extremely small number of Iraqis and that most Iraqis are good people and that we need to stay there because if we can just stop the terrorists Iraq will be a nice place.

  • I agree. There are many that I like and would like to see the country flourish. A true friend doesn't abandon someone in need. But our media would rather say "those people are incapable of democracy..." That's just wrong. When they make it, others will follow. In 50 - 200 years, we may have a free world capable of reaching the stars.

  • This is awesome stuff, I'm Jewish, I'm from Milford, NH, USA, lets get this country what it deserves, some peace

  • she's hot, score for you! Even living in "shit" it's good to have a hot gf :D

  • Wasn't the curfew recently moved back to 10PM? Is it legal to tint your windows over there? (and would it be a good idea to do so?) Once engaged, how long before you will be able to marry? I hear Dubai is a pretty swanky place. It's good that your girlfriend is able to go there. Y'all can keep in touch by posting videos on YouTube. Best of luck!

  • I hope all works well for you, i feel for everyone there, i couldn't live with the daily pressures you live with, i don't think i am strong enough. I'm Canadian born a nd bred and have never had to face these hardships yet you have adapted and continue on. to all of the Hometown Baghdad " crew " best wishes and stay safe!

  • if u me to insult u I can do it in 4 languages, but it doesn't take much brain to do that b/c it's boring so I will not, punk

  • what a coincidence, i can do that also in 4 languages. so if u feel u r grown up enough, show some respect to others opinions.

  • I feel for the pain and the war zone you live in and I hope one day everything will be much better for you.

  • to the translator - it's impression material, not compression. to Saif - good luck! my fiancee is across an ocean, too. and also - you're a dentist, man, what the hell are you doing smoking? oral cancer is not a pretty thing and that smoke will rot your gums. time to hit the books again ;-)

  • why is she going to be in UAE for 3 months? Are her parents there as well? Where are Saif's parents?

  • At times I've been away from my love for longer than that... it will work out as it is meant to be.

  • who cares what u r a fan off, retardo

  • To bighorns101: The stincky pussy of your aunt cares, I was not talking to you you slipper face.

  • lek ha gawad saif im ur friend form BC but i wont tell u whom, she is beautiful but to say the truth.... im not a fan of wireless relationships, I lived that when I left Iraq. Anyway wish u the best

  • These videos are so great.

  • *sigh* aww thats so sweet. You're a very lucky man, sh's gorgeous

  • I'm so sorry you have two can't go out on your own and that you will be away from each other for 3 months.I hope everything will work out with your parents. She is very beautiful and you are such a cute couple.May God Bless you and your fiance.

  • REALY U R GREAT PEOPLE I EDMIRE U

  • 3 months eh? Well I don't wanna be putting thoughts in your head but - nah forget it.

  • life IS sh*T.

just depends on the size of the pile that your currently dealing with.

  • yalla 7aboob inshalla u'll see her soon out of the khara lol

  • this is so harsh...keep rockin Saif, keep rockin Noor.

  • that's really interesting...and sad. All the smart and industrious people are leaving it seems.

  • Well one of the great achievements is obviously to show Iraqis' humanity, which is not shown on the news. It would be great if more of this kind of stuff were shown on T.V. because then it'd be more difficult for Americans to hate all Iraqis.

  • Americans hate iraqis!? what reasons do they have!? none!

  • We're given lies and expected to accept them as reasons.

  • I know Americans have no reason, but Iraqis are not portrayed as individuals and their humanity is never concentrated on in the media. This was my point. Greater exposure to videos like these could help reduce hate in America. If you watch American media outlets, hatred towards anyone in the middle East is often articulated. I'm not saying that hatred is justified (it isn't), I'm just saying it exists.

  • yes true...all you need to know is who owns the five or so major news outlets to understand...

  • americans dont hate iraqis...most are as confused as the rest of the world as to why our idiots in office did this...

  • "as the rest of the world" ?

    NO, only americans.

  • give me some kubaaa

  • The series is reiterate that one doesn't want to stay in Iraq and is unsatisfied to stay put because of the turmoil of war. But how was life pre-occupation under Hussein? Who do you guys believe is stopping the Iraqi people from being able to have a "life"? US occupation? Extremists? The Iraqi Gov't?

  • Why she is she leaving, she's not a Iraq citizen? Is it her job? I hope you guys can get married and be able to settle. It's only your and hers right to be able to have that happiness.

  • small clue: she's living in a war zone. Wouldnt you leave?

  • don't be flip --there are circumstances you probably dont see...

  • the growth of this type of forum is what's going to civilize the human race. i'm proud to have seen it's birth. stay safe.

  • I really admire your Iraqi for this series. You have not run into any trouble? Still, it's a brave and englightening thing to do. What do you wish to achieve? Just to give a more first-hand account of the realities of war-torn Iraq - is this a lamentation or a protest for change?

  • This is not a worthy response, but a primary thesis of this series is to remind us all that we are so much more the same than different.
