What magnet strength did you use for this and what magnet is in the car? My son is doing an experiment at school and this looks fun to try. :)

envision a Mining Rail Car, on the floor board is a giant lever you can pull up, and TURN the under-cart magnet AROUND.

then cart would then move to the starting end of the track. This type of thing has potential, then energy used to turn the magnet around or 'reset' the car at either end, may be offset by distance you can move a given mass.

should add 'cargo' to the toy car, and a mechanism to flip that cart-magnet around in the other direction at the ends of the track.

This fellow has done a good job here, though the geometry of the poles is not quite correct. Otherwise the car would literally fly off the end of the table just like Howard's. The trick is to make the thing go in a complete circle.

No it wouln't.  I've done this same thing many times. But I am happy to see other people trying. I'm sure it can be done.
