an easier way to lvl up Restoration is to make a spell that hurts you for some damge and then heals you for the same amount XD

@FourEightZero Oh, yea. I did know that (I may have left it out of the video/description) and I think thats how I usually did it. I don't remember anymore but maybe it was more effective if your health was damaged.

has anyone thought of just finding the trainers and buying the 5 lvl ups and doing the lvl up glitch and lvling up that way thats what i do also u dont have to lvl up destruction just get illusion up to 100 and you can make a paralyse spell that has destruction magic in it i cheated though i glitched my magic in the 8 to 900's to cast it multiple times since it takes 367 magicka to cast it or something like that

it is easier to train illusion with charm 1 point in 100 feet on target

you will get xp for each hit and when you use this spell at day at arcane university (there should be a class outside) you get 8-10 hits so it will go 8-10 times faster

@videomaker701 There are a few places you can make spells in the game. The arcane university is the most common but if you have the expansion for Frostcraig spire you can get an alter of enchanting in there, that would be the easiest way. If your playing on PC though you can open the console and simply type

showspellmaking

and the alter of spellmaking will pop up wherever you are.

geting your combat skills up is EZ too

1. get a horse from where you meet Jaffrie in the first main QUEST for free

2. press start and go settings\game play, then raise difficulty to the MAX

3. start attacking your horse with a weak weapon eg. rusty iron dagger=blade skill

@Songsmirth Its basically another way of saying tied. As an example if your hands are bound it means your hands are tied together. So a bound sword spell means that there is a certain sword tied to that spell. Try Wikipedia if you need a better explanation.

@Starioshka You would need to find a spell and buy it then use that, or after buying the spell make your own version (use console if you can't access an alter yet) or and even easier way to do it would be to use the player.modpca command. Keep in mind that using the modpca command will not contribute towards leveling the character it will simply change your skill level. Hope this helps.

@Songsmirth I have to say that I don't remember quite where I got it only that I seem to find it on every file I have, check the Oblivion Wiki and it may be from a specific mission. You can do this at any level you want , any point in the game. Frostcraig Spire is one of the Oblivion DLC's so you would have to purchase the DLC and then Frostcraig Spire will immediately become available to you.

@Songsmirth: for you first question: just use any spell that has the "on touch" effect. for your second question: unfortunately you can't just smash it, you'll need either a lot of lockpicks, the skeleton key or an open lock spell.

Just don't know how to use them but I'll look now for one that say, "touch." I think I'm not leveling up because of it. @347avatar Basically, I made a spell that had the lowest effect and lowest duration so it wouldn't heal me much so I didn't have to hurt myself as often, and making the spell won't cost much because the impact is so low.

@XBagerXbox That's a tricky one, if your playing on PC then I can help you (probably) but for Xbox/PS3 users you basically have to build your player around being a magic user. I know that even when using the console on PC there is a certain limit to how much you can have. Sorry I don't have any better news.

@xpantiesnifferx Great suggestion, thanks for helping (by the way, nice name ;) and I did find a way to modify your magicka *if* you playing on PC. I was playing around with the console a few days ago and found that using

player.setav magicka #

it seems to have a limit (around 6000-7000 if I remember correctly) which way more than you need for even the most powerful spells. Another option is to modify your skill level with the school of magicka you are trying to use.

@JustinTheJMan As an example of what I meant is I was trying to use finger of the mountain (its was leveled to the highest so it was around 4,000 magicka to cast, I had only 127) and my level with Destruction was a pitiful 15, when I set my destruction level to 100 (master) the cost dropped to around 700 magicka and then I gave myself like 6,000 magicka so it wasn't a problem.

To change your skill level use

player.modpca destruction (or any other attribute) # (up too 100 which is master).

@razor005 I believe you can get more options on the menu (effects and such) by getting the lowest level form of that effect, like to add the breath underwater effect you would buy the smallest underwater breathing spell.

@rarelyknow Hmmm, it seems I forgot something. Your best bet would be to find a low level easy to use/create mysticism spell and then enter the console (`) and type "showspellmaking" that should bring up the spell making window and from there you should be set. another good way to level restoration is to also create a destruction spell with minimal damage to self, then alternate between the two and level both skills. you just have to be careful not to burn/shock/whatever yourself to death. :)

@MountainDew619 That would be in Frostcraig Spire, it an official add-on for PC and I do believe Xbox 360 has it also. If you're using computer you can open the console (hit the ~ button on your keyboard) and then just type showspellmaking and it will pop the spell making altar up, anywhere you want.
