  • hrm you will see waiting you to teach me

  • Aqualung is about a pedophile, fyi.

  • @SpencerLoss No its not, its about a homeless man that is very sick and he seeks help, but the people think he is a pedophile, and in the end he dies from the cold winter, sorry for bad english

  • Quiero me pongan uno de lo mismo que tomo Ian esa noche! Buenos tiempos sin corte...

  • and that bieber is how it's done!!!

  • What a character. What a performance. What a song! Brilliant

  • muitooooooo bom

  • How many of you viewers got to see Jetro Tull in 1970-1973 in their prime? All the major bands came through L.A. and Jethro Tull was widely reguarded in my high school as the best by far!

  • aren´t jethro tull a bit underrated? not often they are named of one of the greatest bands in the 70´s and 80´s. this performance is a blast!

  • love it!

  • another great band in rock music history.....

  • One of the best vocals in prog rock history!

  • classic!

  • i love this song

    jethro tull rocks

  • at 5:33..he is saying I'm so high on coke...he even tells us....omg ...the 70's were very interesting indeed !...go Ian...do yo thang...

  • 374 people listen to justin beiber all day.

  • Wunderschön, einmalig, ohne Worte.

    Einfach zurücklehnen und genießen.

  • uno dei piu' grandi gruppi della storia del rock

  • Crazy Scotsman! Don't his mannerisms kind of remind you of Joe Cocker?/

  • Excelente video y sobre tode excelente inerpretación de Ian Anderson.

Por cierto su forma de desarrollarse en el escenario siento que el actor que interpreta al Dr. House se inspiro en este gran inerprete para personificar su personaje de Huose.

  • The best band!

  • Miss heard lyrics for about 25 yrs I thought he was saying ( 5 little girls with bat in hand ) ,ok so it's eyeing little girls with bad intent, a bit more creepy

  • GENIAL IAN PERFORMANCES I LIKE IT !!rebel68

  • One of the true great live performers, an dthey are few and far between

  • ian its a great showman

  • questa canzone è bellissima!!! <3

  • Un juglar, un actor que maneja con gestos y una voz estupenda todos los tiempos y además un gran tipo, grande Ian !!!!

  • ENORME!!!

  • @muzzmann.... It does suck to grow up w this currrent music. I even listen to radio anymore. I hope real music makes a comeback

  • He looks like the bards of old.

  • The Most Beautiful Song by Jethro Tull... Every single ‘second’ of this 1971 released song is beautiful! The variations & the diversity within the song makes it a true Epic! Martin Barre’s Guitar work & the Solo is Absolutely Amazing! Not to forget Ian Anderson’s Acoustics and Vocals too. Simply Breathtaking! Don’t you worry Jethro Tull, for you still do have avid fans like me, who was born in the 90’s :)

  • “While I was playing the solo of Aqualung, which was really going well, Jimmy Page walked into the control room and started waving. I thought, ‘Should I wave back and mess up the solo or should I just grin and carry on?’ Being a professional to the end, I just grinned.”

    - Martin Lancelot Barre (1946 - )

  • At the beginning of this concert (Hippodrome, 1977), Ian states that he is getting over a cold. That's "probably" why he is sniffling and rubbing his nose so much; Not cocaine, as many a delinquent have stated on this video. Amazing he still sings perfectly with a cold, too! Best frontman ever, in my opinion.

  • why haven't i heard this until now?

  • Ian was always on the edge, he almost loses the mic @ 3:02, throws his leg up and doesn't miss a beat, wild soul with sharp diciplines!

  • This song is so awesome I am blinded by it's brilliance!

  • Ian Anderson is always a trip to watch.GREAT song.ROCK ON!!!!!!

  • Martin's solo must be one of the best of all classic rock songs.

  • A wake up call to all those lazy ++++ on "benefits" today ... times are changing ... the govt has no more money for you ... shock horror, yeah???

  • Saw them several times in concert in '69-'70 in England; they were great then....still great.

  • @daviddiron You're a lucky guy. I'm Colombian and probably I will never see them in concert.

  • yes!! JT is beast! just saw a band take Living in the Past and fuse it with Mission Impossible theme. crazy good arrangement. ck it out.

    search

    nutty press video

  • this was when music was worth a damn

  • @cindyartist3 You hit the nail right on the head !

  • 1:08

For some reason, that part reminds me of a medieval bard... lol.

  • One of the most inspiring acts for me. My dad brought me up on Tull,my first concert was Jethro Tull at Hammersmith odeon when I was 7. I still have the T-Shirt "Broadsword and the Beast" it was the Rock Island tour, but that shirt was much better! I still wear it for the better gigs as it looks cool as f*ck.

    Much love for the Tull!!!

  • These guys were awesome in concert in the mid 1970s in Los Angeles. Saw them again in the early/mid 2000s in Costa Mesa, Ca. They (especially Ian) were still great, just a lot older.

  • Ian Anderson has always been one of Rocks greater voices. He adds an additional ingredient that makes Jethro Tull so enjoyable to listen too.

  • Theatrical on stage = entertaining. What better way to be, being the frontman? Better than just standing there like a statue. However, Buckethead can do just that since it's his stage persona.

  • Gay

  • Dee dee dee

  • Una obra de arte ! gracias por el video

  • Just brilliant after all these years.

  • 3:43 - Best Solo Ever. Thanks god for that perfect sound.

  • @gbnutricao no its not - I prefer the sound of thunder.

  • @MrCosmos69 OK. ill try it

  • @maglanos how is idiomacy in greek? you greek nernt!

  • Magnificent!

  • A drop of crazy, a sea of genius

  • "bends to pick a dog-end" cigar butt

  • To me the two best live bands (seen both many times) are Tull and Floyd ... never enough of either

  • ..."and a cup of tea"...Yeah, I know what he means...

  • Saw them live in 1969, Cobo Hall - Detroit, Michigan...Amazin Live Show!!!

  • GREAT PERFORMANCE OF THIS FANTASTIC BAND....HERE S ANOTHER BIG ARTIST OF OUR TIME FROM THE SOUTH OF ITALY:

Gabriele Russillo -Amazing live to the Zagreb Bass Contest (Ethn'n'Roll) part I

  • Gods...

  • 370 idiots have no clue about the worth of the life they are living. An honorable suicide would be best for you guys. Honestly!

  • @Mamertum345 While I agree, look at the numbers - 370 people have no clue but over 15,000 have great taste! You can't please everyone because they likely never will never have any taste. Over 6.5 million hits for Jethro Tull blow my mind any way you look at it. Well deserved!

  • @Mamertum345 Nickelback Fans I would hazard a guess...:0) ..how HORRIBLE it would be to grow up in current times with the GARBAGE they call music .....can you imagine Justin Beeblehead dredging up memories for someone in thier middle age as this does for us ???? NOTTA !

  • @Mamertum345 seppuku

  • @Mamertum345

    370 thumbs up !!

  • this is flawless

  • I saw them live in 72 and this a pizz poor version of a classic. Ian Anderson had become a caricature of what he was back then. I think Martin was the best guitarist they ever had and they were heading downhill after Benefit and Stand Up. My God, Ian's wife wrote the best songs on this record.

  • scot

  • cocaine's hell of a drug

  • for some reason, I've had this song stuck in my head, and find myself singing it at random around the house...love it

  • A cross between George Carlin and Joe Cocker. One wacky dude!

    Great performer.

  • Dont ever never grow up!!!

  • All of u ahutup i not his personal friend or his doctor so u really dont no if he did drugs or not!!

  • Ian doesn't need drugs...he is his own drug.

  • I always thought that Elton John wrote Madman across the water for Ian Andersen. Silly I know. But i never could shake it.

  • Did anyone else notice that the drummer is wearing a kilt?

  • Why do people assume they used drugs? Ian was totally against using drugs. He is just a unique talent with a lot of passion.

  • WAYAY! DAGADAGADUG!

  • While The Beatles were singing about Yellow Submarines, Jethro Tull were singing about perverted old men chasing kids in parks with sinister as hell music, way ahead of their time.

    -my friend Robin Burke, Galway-.

never heard anything better about it

  • I adore this song. I always have. Ian is an absolute god.

  • This is the band i call "The Band of Unknown Genre."

I love Jethro Tull believe me. It's just that they are supposed to be a rock band but were inducted into the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame for heavy metal and on iTunes they are labeled as Pop!!

I still classify them as Rock though.

  • @askaluchadore

    They are progressive rock :)

  • @askaluchadore I put them in the prog-rock area since their music spans many different styles, songs with different time signatures and distinctly separate sections....typical of those that are considered prog-rock.

  • Prata da casa!

  • Thanks, Again. This Rocks!!! :)

  • i have a top of the line computer and 360 doesnt play sometimes.. i dont get it.. whats up with you, youtube?

  • CLASSIC will never get BORING

  • Adam Sandler in Big Daddy said: Jethro Tull performing a concert in New Jersey for this reason I do not care for my aunt who was ill. The aunt died that day .......................... I also leave caring for my TIA to see Jethro Tull JAJAJAJA

  • this guy snorted up Columbia, Peru Bolivia, you get the hint it was no secret that's what killed the band but what a show to be able to function that hi and not miss a beat. Also when he comes back out look how hard he's breathing he's fucked up and he has coke on his right nostril, screw it those were the time's

  • @elauzierek Killed the band? They're still together, well Ian and Martin are at least.

  • -That was the most specacular musical experience I have ever witnessed-

  • My cat's name is Jethro. I looked up his name to see what I got and I found this. Lawl.

  • I am a Ritchie Blackmore worshipper and so was delighted to find out Tull was his favourite band.In an interview lamenting the decline of music he says"Take Jethro Tull, great musicians, great music but they wouldnt be given the chance to make it nowadays" Spot on as usual Ritchie.

  • Only Jethro Tull can get more than 6,500.000 views in 240p!!!

  • @ObeaBABZ Good music doesn't need high definition!

  • @ObeaBABZ Yeah, this is my brother's video. He got his account banned for this, but I guess it was worth it.

  • @ObeaBABZ ahahyhaha :D

  • there's nothing like a Tull concert and watching Ian Anderson on stage...what energy and intensity ...I love his expressions...and man when he plays that flute of his...well, what can one say but incredible!!!!

  • Synd at vi ikke begynte med oppdrett den gang - Ian er i dag mangemillioner på oppdrett...

  • 30 rock :)

  • GREAT VIDEO!!!

  • Wonder if he ever imagined singing this song over thirty years later nearing the age of Aqualung. We never knew how spoiled we actually were have so much good music in the day. We were filthy rich with creative, individual, sophisticated, blend with a buzz music.

  • Super Epic Legend Song!!

  • Ian Anderson never used drugs.

  • This performance is spot on never missing a beat. What a joy it is watching the decade i grew up in where the musicians were Gods. I will leave this earth hoping the next world is filled with Gods like Ian Anderson, Led Zeppelin and all that was in the 70's

  • Saw Tull a few times about 35 or 40 years ago. Always a great show. Even at 58 years old I'm still a big fan. Great videeo.

  • Don't mean to be one of those "thumbs up if ___ sent you here!" But there was a joke about this song in 30 Rock and I'm glad there was because this is brilliant!

  • Best ever..!

  • fresh as the day sooo long ago he started bloody awesome

  • The time when music was from the soul, and not the pasty bland garbage spewing form the mouths of the beibers and the rest of the grammy-whiners. God, I loved those old times.

  • DU CARAIO!!!

  • Awsome drummer too...

  • great regret:haven't seen them live.

  • ESTAS SOLO IAN ANDERSON

  • excelente tema de este maestro del rock.

  • That guy would have been a jester in the medieval era...

  • @icountsohigh He would've been the best motherfucking jester in the whole world.

  • this band is awesome, like a sum of Led Zeppelin and Yes

  • @sweredom wat is up wit the knee stuff its been on most the videos i seen

  • looks tweaked out lmao but one of my favorite songs !!!!!

  • Medieval Gay Pants ftw

  • ian anderson was awesome but then he took arrow to a knee

  • To quote Antonio Salieri describing Mozarts music.. " An absolute beauty"

  • when Ian went behind the stage at 4:03, I'm pretty sure that he used cocaine...

  • @Gugasantucci You may be right. He wipes his nose shortly afterward. But who cares? One never questions a God.

  • @Gugasantucci it really looks like, but he does the nose thing all day, even in videoclips.

  • @PoLaKoiD

    Consist coke habit anyone?

  • @SaintNight im not sure he used or not at that moment, but Im pretty sure wasnt a habitual user. that's what I meant

  • @Gugasantucci check at 5:53 :D his nose. :)

  • @LegionHealer check what he's singing about

  • @LegionHealer Yeah, I saw it, he scratches his nose again!

  • @Gugasantucci ahahha ;)

  • @Gugasantucci Believe it or not, Ian Anderson never once did drugs... he said "It strikes me as boring..."

  • @Gugasantucci ian is pretty much against drugs, its pretty well known & documented, but who knows..it was the 80's..!!

  • @Gugasantucci DEfinitely :D

  • @Gugasantucci Ian Anderson never used drugs...

  • @Gugasantucci probably, although I think that he was pretty high from the beginning of the performance.

  • @Gugasantucci Why would you say something like that? What scintilla of evidence do you possess to substantiate your statement? Seriously!

  • @CUBALAW Man, relax. I'm just joking! I Know that Ian never used drugs, I say that becouse he get out of Stage and when he came back, he was more crazy... It was just a joke!

  • Very good! I love it this is my favorite song Merci =Thank you

  • fantastik

  • Thank You for Posting. I saw Them 4 or 5 Times back in the mid to late 70's. Thanks for Reviving My Memories. I Appreciate. :)

    *Inhales*

  • ...with a LP Gold !!!...

  • Love it!

  • UMA DAS MELHORES BANDAS DE TODOS OS TEMPOS!

  • This song is truly incredible. A touch of metal as well as touch of James Taylor and everything inbetween. Few artist could every mix all that into a brilliant song like this. Truly a creative piece of work!

Althought it is still total BS that Jehtro Tull beat Metallica for the first Metal Grammy lol.

  • mi irrita tl sistema nervoso cn tutti quei zzzo di movimenti.....

  • im going to see ian anderson next year in may!! im really excited, actually my first real concert (but black sabbath is coming just a month afterwards:D)
