Ahh, at first I watched this scene and I couldn't quite tell what the uploader meant by a hidden message. I thought about it for a bit and I read the description!

It was such a sad scene as well I was on the brink of crying and I'm 21 folks

But in my opinion I think that what he meant by a hidden message was that in their moment of despair, symbolically they were all saved by the hand of god.

I'm not religious or anything, but I think that's what he was trying to say, not me.

I knew when I was watching this movie that there was something wierd about it. I think the subliminal message or purpose is disassociation of the new world order to come. Andy giving the toys away, the toys enter new situation where at first everything is great then realize they are actually prisoners, one of their own (Buzz) is re-programed to keep them hostage until they accept the new situation, a.k.a New World Order.

I am a just turned 18 year old guy and i took my girlfriend and my 6 year old niece and nephew, and guess who cried the most in the film, i was an emtional reck in this scene and the ending, i was the same age as Andy when the first film came out and then just like Andy, I was going away to college., and seeing Andy give woody away is pretty much telling you that your childhood is over. I feel like this movie was directed more towards the kids that grew up with these films. We were 6 or so when the first one came out and we've grown with these movies. We, as a generation, have matured and can handle this. We know that life isn't just games. I feel like this movie is meant exactly for our generation so it's alright to show the character facing issues of Death, Love, and Faith.

i dont see why kids can't watch this, kids movies with emotional parts are always the best ones, like toy story 2 and 1 for example, the kids get to know the the feeling of having to leave someone that you have loved for a very long time. in the third one they get close to the feeling of parting, eternal love and death, i dont see the problem with this. it makes the kids souls grow and makes them see the world in another point of view.

The MESSAGE: Woody and company actually SAVED THEMSELVES with that dramatic decision to hold hands and accept death together as one. Because that meant that, instead of everything being helter skelter with each one trying to scamper in a vain attempt to escape, they were all *sitting still confined within the same area/space.* So they were all CLOSE TOGETHER and not moving, instead of being in all places. And this made it EASIER for the aliens to rescue them with the claw. That's DEEP!

I'm almost 19 now and the animators probably took that into account that the majority of the audience would be the group of people that grew up watching this. I know more people my age that were excited for it than my siblings younger friends.
