v depends. Leather long bows are better than long bows for more durability and better upgrades.

Leather/long bow: farther range, ideal for pvp, magnum shot, slower attack speed.

Composite bow/cross bow*: medium attack range, faster attack speed, high critical.

Short bow: fastest attack s. peed, shortest range, (in some cases) highest critical.

*cross bows allow you to run while the skill is loaded, but uses different ammo

Alot of this stuff is common sense. which is y im having my wife watch it she has no common sense. i am r E rang with 23dex and she is r 1 range with over 200dex yet in a pvp i have killed her with a bow and my magic dmg is super low cause 0 int

As an elf you need to be working on making those arrows hurt, not cheap ways to keep pelting with low damage until its end

Is this video done with an elf? I really can't see any other way that you would be able to pull off a shot while the enemy's still stunned. Unless there's some hidden modifier that no one's telling me about.

Refining does but you really have to work for it. In fact, every life skill gives you dexterity except Composing, Music Theory, Rest, and Campfire. Hope this helps. ;)

With zero shot, how does your skill load so fast? I've got rank D elf ranged and can't even get to 60% before it hits me even though I'm really close.

Still messing around with Elves atm. Once I get decent skills all up to rank 9. I'll begin working on a video for Elves. So far, it seems Elves have much more techniques to pull off than Humans.

Thanks for the Archery Tactic Compilation. I've always been told by other players that I kill mobs "dangerously" with no specific tactic. I used to use simple arrow barraging over and over and hoped the monster would die before it reached me. With your videos, I learned new tactics and ways to go about using range attacks successfully! Elves have a slightly different tactic versus enemies with a large amount of hp. It's a version of zero shot, but instead of a normal shot at first they ( I do at least ), use Mirage Missle, then follow up with ordinary Zero Shots. This does a lot more damage than Zero Shot alone, and saves on arrows which is <3~

Hmm, there's a glitch in Mabinogi that allows you to use smash while wielding a bow. The injury rate from your bow applies to it, so you can end up putting a completely healthy person into Super deadly mode.... it's a fun glitch

i was wondering if you could make a brief mention on the timing for weapon switching, i can never seem to get it right. it also seems that different weapons have different stun lengths and take out time, so i was wondering what your opinion would be on which weapon to switch with taking into all that plus damage and what not. sorry, i just started this game and i really enjoy the combat system. i did try to find my own timing for weapon switch but as i am new i am limited to what i can play with

How do you SOG for a normal ranged attack, I just found out what it was today? If you don't know what it is, it's a timed shot where during a certain animation phase of magnum shot or regular shot, where you get 100% accuracy no matter what the meter says.

Wow, do you know ways to reduce lag or was that fast for you from the start? I looked around but nothing makes a drastic change, I shouldn't have gotten a vista...

There's 2 things I found that depict lag. 1) Nagle Lag. Just google Nagle Algorithm, and once you disable that, you'll suffer less lag. 2) Distance. Nexon is in LA California, so if you live far away, like say the East Coast, it'll get difficult.

Icebolt can help you get closer. Firebolt pushes helps you gain distance. Lightningbolt is safer than Icebolt. I suggest you at least get Firebolt to F. As for the type of Bow... It's all up to preference. Long-range get a LLB. Mid-range get a Composite. Close-range get a Xbow. But it still all comes down to preference.

Hmm.... I havent't actually decided a preference.

But when I fought, I noticed I tend to go back as far as I can get, then shoot a barrage of arrows.

Once the enemy gets too close, I use counterattack, then continue. But that only gets my a certain amount of distance.

So I'll try firebolt and the Leather long bow.

And uber win for the guide on mabinogi forums. You made me wanna become a pure archer cause of it!

Last question, where can I get a LLB?

Only found a normal longbow at Bangor.

Nice video, i myself find the timing to ice between zeroshots difficult, and; maybe you should add the higher the range rank, the bigger margin for error for zeroshot range :3

When the enemy is running towards you, you have the cap of 80% aim rate. That's a 1/5 chance to get hit. If you use an Icebolt/Lightningbolt to stun it, then your aim cap will increase to 99%.
