In a tournament scenario: Drakes can easily adapt their damage to an enemy's most likely resist hole, they've got huge shield buffers and can switch to FoFs if the jamming gets too heavy.

Elsewhere: Ideal missioning ship for levels 2-3 against ANY rat type, can handle some l4s, so everybody and their grandmother has the skills to fit and fly one.

with my drake I can fly all lvl4 missions without any problems, with all tech2 fittet stuff insteag rigs it is a damn killer for bs. i recommend this ship for all caldari pilots. but now its time for my nighthwak, yeah. ^^

@undo4peace yeah that fit works if you have the skills to make it all fit. t2 heavy launchers are hard to fit. A permaboost raven is more expensive but it's definitely the goto lvl4 ship for most cal pilots.

drakes have the epic shield buffer tank

easily around 50-60k ehp (with 3 weapon ups + t2 dmg cntrl) & fitted with HAMs it's pretty sweet dps

Scooped drones go into your cargo bay, you can't fit them until you get to an SMA or dock (commentators are idiots, sky is blue)

That's been changed... if you look now you will see you can scoop to drone bay. However it may be that you can only scoop to drone bay the drones that were yours.

i agree with movingtarget, in my expereince, armor tankers sometimes leave huge em holes, thinking pll wont do that dmg too them..

As a Retribution pilot, I can say that the Drake was right to keep shooting EM. Like a previous commenter said, Thermal and EM are the biggest holes in their considerable T2 resists. Even with the bonus to Kinetic damage, EM was a better choice.

Also, Croven's job is to entertain during these fights, and I personally found his seething over shield-tanked Gallente ships to be pretty damn funny.

lol. I saw the blue EM missiles heading towards the retribution first. I don't want to dis the action. man, it is just pvp and though it was a good and exciting fight. I don't want to side with any alliance.

But I think to switch to kinetic missiles (maybe precision) would be a better way to fight retribution( too high EM resist). and in drake you have the bonus for kinetic.

Actually the drake pilot made the right call. The retributions and the absolution have T2 resists, and are very resistant to kinetic and explosive. Their lowest resist is thermal, but EM is the second lowest. It would not have made any real difference to switch from EM to thermal.

also, banzai won anyway due to match time limit at 88-87.

man, and the 2nd drake fitting was great for the shield but what about the bonus for kinetic missiles? firing at retribution with em munition is quite senseless. worked for the ishkur but not for amarr ships. think the drake could have won with right dmg type.

Ya, when my drake is at half structure and I Don't even have 30 secs left to live I should really spend 10 secs to switch my ammo. That would have made all the difference.

If you do the math SOLAR loses to BANZAI at the 16:03 mark when the fight should be over. BANZAI has 13 points on the field and SOLAR only 12. Too bad for SOLAR since CCP in looking into it...
