  • I heard this song in fallout, its awesome

  • I used to go to the nashville fairgrounds just watch Marty race ..he's awesome!

  • being a fan of marty robbins brought me here

  • like if new vegas didnt bring you here

  • Yep.. New vegas brought me here too...

  • One of my favorites even before New Vegas, I almost died of nostalgia when I heard it tin the game.

  • Marty Robbins brought me here :)

  • I saw Marty Robbins in Oshawa, Ontario in the 70's. He signed a record for me but he didn't play Big Iron, which was my favorite MR song.

  • This is great to be able to compare performances. I would like to hear from all you Marty Robbins fans if you would do me the honor of visiting dubldvideo to watch Bill Barwick's version of this song. I think he does Marty proud.

  • My Uncle Wilfred loved Marty Robbins , he loved country music so much. I will always think of him whenever I hear songs like these... RIP Uncle Wilfred... I lived in Jamaica then, as a little girl!! I love Country Music!!

  • I bet all the people who don't know what Fallout: New Vegas is are so fucking confused by the lyrics, rofl. xD

  • Marty would give autographs during red flags on the track, what a great guy

  • i know he raced, but that voice was enough for me. RIP marty

  • in todays world it seems unbelieveable that there was a time where singers actually sounded live exactly as in the radio versions :(

  • I love his voice. Sort of a slightly higher version of Johnny Horton. Full of so many colors, passions.

  • Bethesda brought me here...

  • He was also a NASCAR driver. He would drive in the race and then drive to the Grand Ole Opry to perform.

  • WTF with the nascar?

  • I would do anything to see him at a concert, anyone know The Doctor?

  • New Vegas has brought me here...

  • same hear tis even beter in video :)

  • Where can I buy this? I love this live version and all the other along with it!

  • This is one of my favorite Marty Robbins songs, what a great story teller. This video was part of a live concert that was video taped in Oct 1981 in West Palm Beach Florida and put out on VHS "Marty Robbins His Legacy" in 1986. The song is longer but he did a quicker version that time. I was fortunate enough to attend that concert.

  • @jdbd60 Very lucky you're indeed!

  • fallout yeah

  • Patrolling the mojave almost makes you wish for a nuclear winter.

  • Chrysler...

  • ho conosciuto questa canzone per fallout, ma ora mi piace molto di piu, non solo perche era nel gioco, ma perche ' e' fantastica.

  • Great song I use to listen to as a kid,but what does car racing have to do with it?.Should be photos of Western Guns.Quick draw Mcgraw!.Yihaaaaaaa.

  • Does anyone know where I can get the DVD of this concert?

  • @Mezapenna oh yeah !!!

  • Always liked this song.

My late father in-law crewed for Dave Marcus. While out on the track on a test run after working on the car he notices he's door to door with Marty Robbins. He said Marty was a pretty fair hand at the wheel.

  • I used to have a ginger cat with one ear, who my father affectionately dubbed "Texas Red". I never knew where it was from until I heard this song and pissed myself laughing. Great tune.

  • I was 17 when Marty Robbins died. I was, and still am a huge fan. Always regretted that I never got to see him in concert, but this is the next best thing.

  • Now to punch some super mutants

  • Mojave radio brought me here

  • what year did this song come out?

  • @toxicitydeath 1959

  • Re:OMFGRAZORGATOR

That's Grady Martin playing the lead parts. It's also him on the original recording, playing acoustic of course.

  • who is the gentlemen playing the lead guitar melodies on the electric?

  • Why is this the only live version of this? :C

  • Raise your hand if you came here cause of New Vegas :-)

  • I knew about this song before New Vegas. It was a treat to hear it during the game :D

  • Marty is better than the shit we have today.....Beiber can kiss Marty's ass.

  • @naxxramas1onclubpeng you dam right!!!!!!!!!!

  • So... not really sure where cars come into a song about a Texas Ranger... :P

  • @gabeyoung12345 Because Marty raced Grand National (Sprint Cup) cars in Nashville, Talladega, and other places. He owned his team and bought cars from Richard Petty

  • ONE M0:00RE TIME!!!

  • Would never of heard this song in my life if it wasn't for a certain video game series. It is now one of my favourites

  • My pip-boy sent me here

  • I heard this song 30 odd years back when my uncle used to play it on his hi fi,Did not know who sang it until I heard it in Fallout New Vegas, loved it and bought a Gunfighter Ballads & Trail Songs/More Gunfighter Ballads & Trail Songs cd,without the video game I would not have. ^^

  • heard this on the radio today just had to do some research I'm only 14 and I wish I could play the guitar like that :)

  • This song would be perfect for red dead redemption, especially the part where you play as Jack Marston, the song would be perfect!

  • @SouthKiwiAfrican

You mean the game where you play as a retired Texas Red?

  • @countrybluegrass exactly

  • my mother was really into c/w and all my brothers still remember this!!

  • great vid...this song, the cars....mayby I sound stupid, but one day I will call a pony car my own and then its´s just me & the car, the road and sweet songs like this one...thanks for upload

  • NV plays this song to death. Going to get FOOK NV, hope you can blow up the damn radios when you shoot them like in FO3.

  • GOD DAMN IT PEOPLE, ALL YOU GUYS LIKE THIS CUZ OF A FUCKING GAME. NOT BECAUSE YOU REALLY LISTENED TO IT!!! FUCK SAKES... sorry bout caps lock, i didnt notice it til now

  • @bdGongShow its good that this age even knows the great songs of the old times not the rap and junk of today

  • @supermariofan987 i agree, and the comment was not to bash fallout, its a good game and all, but ive liked this song since way before new vegas was even announced

  • @bdGongShow

You do realize that songs like this that appear in video games give the artists in those games more exposure, I really like this song in Fallout and I have never heard of this artist, and I wouldn't have found him if it wasn't for Fallout. So you sir miss the point COMPLETELY so stfu and gtfo. Good Day.

  • @Olly22291 actually my point was that you only like this because of a video game, which you proved by saying that.... so no i made my point, you wouldnt like this if fallout wasnt around, and all you guys annoy the shit out of me when your like "oh i love this song so much! fallout is awesome" no shut the fuck up you dont like the song you like the game. i can guarentee no one would like this if they just sstumbled across it one day, you fucking hypocitical fuck, so you stuf and gtfo, bitch

  • @bdGongShow

So what your saying is exposing a good artist & their songs is a bad thing, even to the younger audience that wasn't alive when this music came out. Mmmm smart thinking there assmunch. Some of my favourite artists that I found were through TV, movies and games. Like you've never done that before, get the sand out of your vagina.

  • @Olly22291 i never once said it was a bad thing, i said it was annoying listening to these fucking morons talk about how much they love this song, when in fact they dont, it just reminds them of a game, i love that this song is in fallout, but i loved this song long before fallout was even around, im annoyed at stupid people, nopt fallout, ad to be honest, your proving yourself to be one of the stupid people.

  • @bdGongShow Well you have your opinion and I have mine, lets leave it at that, Peace.

  • @bdGongShow I am glad you are a pretentious asshole who thinks you are better for liking it first, and think they know the true feelings of people.

Next time I have a thought, I will ask you about it.

  • @joshrocks11 i never said i was better than anyone for liking it first, i just said im annoyed with all these fucking idiots proclaiming they love this song when in fact, if they heard this when it wasnt in fallout, 90% of them would hate it. please read my arguments more carefully before you make yourself look like a moron.

  • @bdGongShow That is a stupid argument to, and it is working under false assumptions. The argument is predicated on you thinking they would hate it if they didn't hear it from fall out, and that is just not true. They searched it out because they loved.

Too assume that, and then get annoyed by an argument that you are working on (based on assumptions) no less is silly.

  • @bdGongShow I listened to this song before the game came out. I've listened to Marty Robbins since I was 10 and thats 34 years ago. Marty Robbins is a true country and western artist they don't make musicians like him anymore. I've never played fallout. New games coming out are introducing new generations to great perfoming artists that are no longer with us.

  • @apa1967 No one will trust you.

  • 13 legionaries disliked ths video

  • one GREAT singer RIP MARTY thanks so much for posting!

  • One of the Coolest of the Cool Old School Country Stars.

  • shortened from the other one, but still nice live edition.

  • a big iron modded with a scope

  • R.I.P Marty Robbins!

  • I killed mr. house...

  • Patrolling the Mojave almost makes you wish for a nuclear winter

  • how could you dislike this???

  • Love parts of Fall Out New Vegas but wish they spent a little more time putting more songs in the game. Because that is all we have to enjoy on our long walks across the map haha

  • @OogleManiac Well unless you are just starting the game.....

    That's why there is fast-travel :)

  • I love your philosophy of life Adrian Poland;)

  • wheres the other verses?

  • I grew up on Marty Robbins prefer metal these days but I must admit nobody could tell a story like this guy

  • Is there anyone else here who knew about this song before Fallout New Vegas was even made?

  • @SonicDude87 I had heard it before New Vegas but i forgot what its was called so the second i heard it in New Vegas i couldnt stop listening xD

  • @SonicDude87 i only just found out its in that game, which ive never played. been listening to marty robbins since i was a kid sitting beside my ma's record player.

  • @piobaireachdjongleur

I wish I could have a memory like that. I found out about Marty Robbins while looking up past country singers.

  • This is when people used to actually tell a story with a song. My granpa and I used to put on the "Marty Robins El Paso City' record and sing together all the time growing up. Miss that kind of music and miss Grandpa.

  • Best song to kill too whn your playing fallout new vegas :D!

  • Damn, how I wish he would have sung the song in it's entirety in this video. R.I.P. Marty Robbins

  • you know that guy got laid alllllll the time

  • 00:49

    Dude can play the geetar.

  • I'm surprised there isn't a video of Marty singing the whole song since it was one of his biggest hits. Just shows how technology has changed. He must have done the whole song on some TV show.

  • Wow! I've been a Marty Robbins fan all my life and was disappointed that the video was interrupted with NASCAR footage, until I discovered it was Marty himself driving. Learn something new every day. Pleasant surprise!

  • I love this song, always have, but mainly because ,when my son was small ,he made me laugh,as he walked into the room singing this and holding my iron at his hip,(steam iron)he was such a joker ,but he loved this song, sadly i lost him at the age of 34,but each time i hear this song it brings a smile to my face.

    God bless you kaz xxx

  • 12 people got shot in the head by Benny

  • the only song in nv that i can't get sick of.

  • new vegas rulezzz

  • Proof that video games can be useful and informative: Fallout:NV re- introduced us to music that kicks ass in a different way =]

  • GO FNV!!!!! I hear this song on their like 5 times an hour, great song!

  • This song is more punk rock than all the emo bullshit out there these days.

  • I was trapped on a Truck Trailer with two Deathclaws surrounding it when i first heard this song.. Good 'ol times!

  • the stranger is the courier

  • Who is that amazing guitar player on this show? I'm almost positive that Grady Martin played on the original recording with Marty on this song. I wonder if that's Grady Martin. All I know is I'd damn sure hire him for my gig, if I had the chance. He's terriffic. Marc Trainor-Pedal steel player with the Fugatives.

  • wish they had the quest calles legend of big iron and they will add his outfit and his gutair as a weapon

  • fallout new vegas love song !!!!!!!!!!!!

  • " Gunfighter Ballads & Trail Songs "

  • The cars kinda killed it

  • @tontopuerco No, I do not believe it did.

  • Good lord. Now THAT'S a mustache.

And yes, while it was Fallout that originally introduced me to Marty Robbins, I now have just tons of his music. This man is awesome.

  • Yeah, I agree. What I would like to have been able to do in both games was to add my own MP3's,WAV's,etc. to customize the soundtrack but there's that pesky copyright thing...

  • Fallout has the best music, just sayin

  • @F8ALxASSASSIN Hell ya man

  • watch?v=yvtEKSiojO0 for big iron weapon.

  • Listen to New Vegas Radio. Mr. New Vegas plays EIGHT whole songs!

  • this song fucked up fallout new vegas

  • @Ali3009ify um how? O . o

  • love the song, love the artist, agreed on the Fallout New Vegas Soundtrack. Makes you wish for Three Dog again. The only major fault with the game, so many songs they could have used and they only chose four, lol

  • when i was a kid. this is a song that helped get me into colt peacemakers in .45 long. one hell of a cool thing too !

  • This song and i dont want to set the world on fire are my favorites

  • @SlipknotIsEvolution Didn't the Ink Spots Sing I Dont Want to Set The World On Fire

  • @Halofann yup they did

  • thumbs up if fallout got you here :D

  • Y'all only know this song from a video game?..that pisses me off a ridiculous amount for some reason

  • @whitedank11 Well, look at it from this angle. Marty Robbins has been shown to hundreds of thousands of people that are young, and may have never experienced his music otherwise. By the way, the game is Fallout: New vegas, which has been a wealth of old songs. The last two games have included the group called the Ink Spots! When was the last time you heard them on the radio?

  • @whitedank11 Dont let it piss you off....embrace it as a means to introduce new folks to great old music....signed an old music apprecianato.

  • jeez louise this page is practiclly swarming with fallout fans.

  • damn right XD

  • People often ask me, "Is there a Mrs. YouTube?"

Well of course there is. You're her. And you're still as beautiful as the day we met.
