Honestly this series just feels stupid. I mean the choreography is ok, but rather corny as well, like something you'd see buzzing around in an dbz fanboy's head. Could stand to have more creativity instead of trying to be over the top, since in reality over the top is so painfully done its no longer over the top.

@TheShizuangel My complaint isn't that its unrealistic its that its generic and overdone. The choreography is more about flipping around and less about subtle skillful more creative fighting. Instead its all just about the same flips that are seen frequently in much anime action. I'm just stating my opinion on the matter and I don't see anything wrong about that. The whole don't say anything if its not nice thing is for kids who call each other buttheads, not critiquing .

Wouldn't all the bullets/magic/or energy blasts be blown completely off course even being that close to the tornado much less in it? all the doa characters would have been immediatly protected by the cyclone walls...and even tho Kairi is the one who forces them into the air to get caught in it... I'm pretty sure if i was as close as all the characters were to the tornado wouldnt all of us be forced into it?

@Verris54321 let me help you with that...a tornado has a inner body and outter wall,so 2 walls per say..the outter "area of force" is what pulls you in..im sure you knew this..the ff girls were not within the area of force,watch closely..thats why the ff girls "knocked" the doa girl INTO the area of force

Technically Rinoa doesn't junction anything anymore because she's a sorceress. The whole junctioning system was simply devised simulate the way sorceresses fight. Though she uses toward the end of the tornado portion, where it kinda looks like she is using a kamehameha wave.

I'm glad you asked. I am currently attending AB2010. Monty gave a 3D film making panel just several hours ago and explained to us that he was not able to finish the next Dead Fantasy in time for the convention. He has recently started working at Rooster Teeth and has acquired some new tools which he has been experimenting with. He gave us some peeks into new work and an accidental sneak peek at the latest Dead Fantasy. All I will say is that he is really mixing it up. =)

a lot of FF fans have actually started to play DOA from what i hear, i dont think the other way round is true though since RPG's are much harder to get into.

I havent played DOA though, but i do love kasumi. I found myself rooting for her in IV until summoner yuna came in!

Actually, if you look at 6:12-6:52, both Yuna and Rikku get knocked out for a substantial amount of time.

Also, just regarding what you said about Kairi, while she wasn't shown to have phenomenal powers in KH2, anyone who's ever wielded a Keyblade was shown to be extremely powerful. Kairi's moves in Dead Fantasy are simply taken from Sora, e.g. Strike Raid and Valor Form.

wow from 1:04 to 1:34 kasumi was knocked out the whole time. 30 whole seconds she was knocked out. she was hit a total of 3 times to attain such a long knock out time. once by yuna + tifa double team, second from yuna kick while she was fighting ayane and then another when she pinned ayane down and shot her. LOOOOLLL but ayane losing to yuna is melee was a bit ridiculous

I think that's because most people opted for her Angelo Limit Break, rather than her Angel Wing. I never really found a use for magic (bar a specific selection) but when you use Angel Wing Rinoa's magic is potent and actually makes them useful. Of course, once you use Angel Wing you no longer control what she casts and it lasts till the end of the battle so that's probably the reason it was dismissed. She was powerful in that form, though.

Hello everyone. For those that still read these comments, please be aware that Dead Fantasy 3 and 4 were officially previewed this weekend at Anime Boston 2009 and FanimeCon 2009. Monty Oum himself presented a panel on 3D animation at Anime Boston 2009 and let us preview the clips before unveiling it to attendees of the AMV screening. I recall a person or two recording it during the panel, but security and volunteer personnel had forbid filming it when it appeared after the AMV screening.

In fact, the staff continuously walked down the aisles to make sure no one was recording. Rather ridiculous I'd say. Even Monty was ok with people recording it, although he didn't want people releasing it before the official release in July 2009. As for the preview itself, let's just say it was pretty controversial...

He used Sion and Len's data from the Melty Blood game and used their voices in this video because, as far as I know, there are no Final Fantasy fighting games featuring these girls for them to have actual voice actors.

1st It's a tower not a cliff

2nd It is indeed correct that Tifa used Gravity but that fire spell was more like a Firaga than a Flare, simply because Square Enix exagerates their top Final Fantasy spells and that one wasn't exagerated enough, and Ultima is like a nuclear magic explosion, i didn't something like that in this video.

1st, I don't care. High thingy they fell from would've worked for me.

2nd, Okay. Flare, Firaga, whatever. However, I still believe she used Ultima inside of the Gravity spear, denoted by the signature green energy leading up to the explosion.

It could explain why you didn't something like that in the video.

Another possibility is that she didn't use Gravity at all, but it was the lead in for Ultima.

I'm pretty sure Midgar wouldn't be able to take that many nukes...

Oh but of course Midgar wouldn't be able to take that many nukes that's why in the old Final Fantasy games like FF7 there's a battle scene where its usual to see world ending magic that isn't canon to the game's plot just like sephiroth's supernova and then there's an explorer scene where you proceed further into the plot or buy new item,etc. but you already knew that didn't you? ;)
