I have kept this poem in my favorites now for years. I must say that I am not muslim. This poem though, is so very close to what I believe in my own inner being as a christian. It is wonderfully beautiful, and if people could take the words into their heart, there would be a lot less bitterness and strife across the world.

What he was talking about cannot be copied or immitated. Love implies two. where ever there is division there is conflict. So the love Rumi implied is not the love we think of AT ALL. It is the 'I' that has to be dead in order for there to be love.

The reference to Darwin is about mankind evolving beyond an old testament view of God to the understanding of the God Rumi writes about.

@qfwfqpnk0 If you are honest in saying that, that is probably the most valuable comment on this video. What rumi had cannot be given or taken by anyone. What he was talking about cannot be copied or immitated. Love implies two. where ever there is division there is conflict. So the love Rumi implied is not the love we think of AT ALL. It is the 'I' that has to be dead in order for there to be love.

suffi is one of persian Mysticisms. and it has to main different parts. happy suffies and sad suffies. differrent love goals. some think of gaining be loved is extreme of love and some another think never-gain-it and always being in way in extreme. the first are more happy suffies and second are sad and both enjoy their love more than all pleasure on earth and skies . rumi and hafez and attar are 3 famous persian poets with poems of love to God

Please none of this here. Sufism- is Islam. None of the Pantheism here. The poem is talking about how humans are connected to Nature, NOT GOD! Circle of life is what Rumi- Ji is talking about- not comapring souls to God. Thats not it. Please none of this here, sorry. But what your saying is anyone can be god and muslims don't accept that ever, thanks, but no. Sorry again, but many people are already as it is, confused about Sufism- no more confusion please :)

@thekillerose Mansour Al Halaj, one of the Sufi's greatest masters, said "ana al hak" or "I am God" because when your self/ego dies nothing remains but God...We live in God, we walk in God, wherever you go there is God...This whole universe is God...God is not a person up in the sky or somewhere else in the universe...He is simply the essence of all things, the timeless time and placeless place...and yes we are God in the sense that nothing exists in life but God or Godliness....

@thekillerose Another thing I'd like to tell you...Sufism is not Islam, rather Islam is part of Sufism...The first step in Sufism is Islam, and then comes the Iman, and finally comes the Ihsan...Sufism has existed a long time ago before Islam did...Jesus was a sufi and so is Muhammad, Ali, Moses, Buddha, Lao Tzu...The names change, but the essence is one...Sufis are the people of Al Safaa or "Purity, sincerity".So yes my fellow traveler, we are all one and we are all connected to the beloved one

God is a divine being- Muslims don't believe that God can ever be human- or as less significant being. otherwise anyone could be God then. Which is Shirk! This poem is about People referring with nature not GOD. Nature- the circle life- NOT GOD!

but he was spoke Farsi-i Dari, he was from Afghanistan Nnd in "Masnavi Manavi" he directly says that i am talking of Quran, and also in "Diwan Shams" he talks about being Muslim. so not even something to argue about.

@rahmama2 @DerbeDeiuL what D said made sense. The first time he/she mentions God, he/she means an external, biblical God; the second he/she just means our true nature. The reference to Darwin is about mankind evolving beyond an old testament view of God to the understanding of the God Rumi writes about.

@rahmama2 . many have a perspective of what God is from a conventional perspective, but the only truth that can be trusted is that which is found out through direct experience. meaning, as you start to HONESTLY examine the world you exist in, the concept of God shifts. and no longer does God hold the same thought in your head. all too often people are rigid in their own identity. God is not mystical. God is not more then the act of you reading this. that is true realization

@rahmama2 You missed the point entirely, if you are confused, that does not mean that others are. The writer struggled a bit with English, I have NO Farsi, so I respect his or her ability to communicate in MY language. The message is identical to that of the original Christians, Buddhists, and just about any religion in the world before it became a tool of the power hungry. There is NO contradiction.
