  • Great job you did gun looks awesome with those aftermarket parts I'm still living with my 1990's Norinco MAk -90'S I've heard lots about these arsenal AK'S and think i may step up to this gun next thanks for the great video!!

  • @kawasakielrman No problem, thanks for watching.

  • This video is great. It really helped me a lot. I went ahead and ordered the Arsenal folding stock and US palm grip before watching this video. I was afraid I might have to do some extra machining to make the folding stock work. But now I know its a simple install. Great job!!! Also I paid about $190 for the stock and grip. Did I get ripped off???

  • @HKmanlp1 Glad you liked the video and thanks for watching. That price sounds about right.

  • I think i might look into getting a folding stock after watching this video, looks nice!

  • @XxKIDTHUNDERxX Thanks for watching! Hope to see an updated video on your channel soon.

  • Ended up getting this same stock and the Midwest Industries handguard, great products. The thumb button to fold the stock is extremely stiff, hopefully that loosens up. Was yours stiff/hard to actuate? For the Midwest Industries handguard I got their top piece that is made for the Burris Fastfire, so now I can co-witness the iron sights through the red dot, very handy.

  • @mrwangchung My button is kind of stiff but I do think it has become easier over time. Have you had many problems with the Burris? I'm still trying to figure out what optic to put on mine.

  • @n2wilderness I like it a lot, it's no EO Tech, but you can't beat it at it's price point. The one thing I do not like about it is that you have to remove it to change the battery because it's in the bottom, other than that I have no complaints.

  • Looks good.

  • @slicksassault Thanks!

  • i would add single point sling attachment, a xs big dot front sight, krebs custom enhanced saftey lever and rear peep sight, and possibly a trijicon rmr or burris fastfire. awesome setup

  • @rqm420 Thanks for watching. The folding stock has a sling attachment that I use for my single point sling but it's kind of awkward when the stock is extended b/c the sling has to come under the stock...bummer. I plan on eventually adding some type of trijicon/eotech/etc. so I'll try to do a follow up video later.

  • @n2wilderness yeah man thatd be legit

  • That looks fuckin' sweet dude! I have an SGL as well, and I'm definitely getting the grip and foregrip, quad rail, buffer, and a EOTech mini but can't decide if I should utilize the side scope mount or fix the EOTech on the quad rail. What are your thoughts or if anybody else has advice would be great as well! Thanks, and great video!

  • @200thANG That is certainly a hard decision. I guess it wouldn't hurt to get try the quad rail first so that you don't have to buy the scope mount if you end up liking the quad. Let me know how it turns out!

  • @200thANG Just a word of advice on side scope mounts, if you get one, get a good one or you'll lose zero every time you remove it. K-Var makes a really nice one that's $90 to $100 on most sites.

  • Been looking for a good and solid side folding stock for my SGL-21, that thing is perfect. Thanks for the video and the info of where you bought it.

  • @mrwangchung No problem! Thanks for watching.

  • @n2wilderness Have you used a full size vertical grip on an AK-47? I am wondering if a full size grip would get in the way of loading 30 rd mags. I have big hands so I don't like the stubby vertical grip much, but if full size ones interfere with reloading then it seems like a good option.

  • @mrwangchung I have not tried the full size grip yet. I also have big hands and not being able to get a full grip doesn't bother me. I mostly hold onto the mag anyway.

  • @n2wilderness I found a solution to my problem, just picked up a vertical grip from Troy Industries that is modular, it can be switched from a full size to a stubby. Though after having played around with it in stubby size I think it will be fine that way, the fullsize did end kind of being in the way of mag changes with 30rd mags.

  • cool setup were did you buy that stock and did you have to do any cutting to put it on?

  • @Bootstastefunny I bought the stock at MidwayUSA and it fit perfectly without any modifications.

  • @Bootstastefunny I bought the stock at MidwayUSA and it fit perfectly without any modifications.

  • @Bootstastefunny I bought the stock at MidwayUSA and it fit perfectly without any modifications.

  • @Bootstastefunny I bought the stock at MidwayUSA and it fit perfectly without any modifications.

  • That set up is almost exactly what I would go for. All I would add is a light and a quality holographic reticle; I recommend you look in to the EOTech holosights. They are expensive but they are worth every penny.

  • @edwood777 Thanks for watching! I agree with the additions your suggesting...one of these days it will happen!

  • hey bro I have the almost identical setup that you have in this vid. Any issues with cleaning rod fit after the putting on the Midwest?

  • @Barano I haven't had any issues although I leave the rod in and really never plan on taking it out. I have other tools for cleaning.

  • that's a mean looking rail. would it look the same on a Saiga out of the box?

  • @Noobpatty The MI rail is a modification.

  • @n2wilderness I know I was asking if they modify the appearance of the gas tube so it looks different

  • @Noobpatty Sorry, I misunderstood you. I don't know the answer to your question b/c I'm still unsure what you are asking. The gas tube looks normal to me.

  • @n2wilderness sorry I worded it weird. I meant to ask the forend of the gun is what the IZ-132 looks like minus the muzzle brake and cleaning rod

  • @Noobpatty I see what your saying now. I'm not 100% sure. They are both Saiga rifles so there's definitely a chance it could work. It would be best to call MI to see if it is compatible.

  • @n2wilderness I'm sure it is compatible I just don't know if the saigas have the same fluted style gas tube or not.

  • You speak pretty clearly, so I would have added the actual process on film for people who are researching HOW TO's could use your vid too. Good camera, good voice, good lighting, etc.

  • @badsugarterrors Thanks for watching and for the helpful feedback.

  • @n2wilderness Your welcome man! I actually purchased an Arsenal SGL 21 few days ago and I'm looking for some furniture. Looking for info on how to.. etc. I'm more experienced in AR parts and this stuff is slowly becoming learned but still don't know some things.

  • @badsugarterrors It was all pretty easy to figure out and if you've done modifications to your AR I'm sure the AK will not give you any problems. The two things that were difficult for me were disassembling the stock and forearm. Arsenal had them so tight it took some extra elbow grease to get them lose. Any chance you live in GA? Would be happy to go shooting sometime.

  • @n2wilderness I would have love to, unfortunately I'm in Tx. my problem is that I want my gun to look like

    photobucket keyword Saiga-Polish2

I want to know exactly how to get it to that point including removal of front site? gas tube exchange?

  • what is the model number on that stock? Is it the AK-431R?

  • @808Arsenal AK-BFS, search product# 240518 on MidwayUSA's website b/c they seem to have a good price.

  • @n2wilderness hoho, pretty cool. When i get another sgl21 i'll probably pick that stock up.

Does it lock up when folded?

  • @808Arsenal Yes, solid lockup.

  • Thanks for answering. Maybe you should try a rapid fire test and see if the MI grips get hot.

  • Do the MI fore grips get any hotter than the grips that comes on the 21? I have a 21 and I ran 5 mags thru it in rapid fire and the fore grips became very hot.

  • @usn3537402 Thanks for watching. I haven't done any of that type of testing to be able to say.

  • Those are the same things exactly that i am hoping to put on my Wasr-10. First video i have seen so far that showed that stock, let alone all of those parts at once. Thanks for the post!

  • @Hellstrok I'm glad this was helpful. Hope you enjoy your rifle!

  • Love all your upgrades but would of done a collapsable stock

  • @pirates6633 Thanks for watching! I considered that option for the stock but have been pretty happy with the folding stock so far.

  • love the quad rail and pistol grip not a big fan of folding stocks. The fore grip looks cool but i hold my gun by the mag it just feels more solid and tucked for me. i dont have an opinion on the recoil buffer due to lack of expirence with one. I would prolly add a flashlight but over all it looks pretty awesome.

  • @300mag83 Thanks bro! I appreciate you commenting. My primary grip is on the mag as well but I wanted an option for any (God forbid) cqc situations.

  • Did I hear band of horses in the back ground? I ordered the midwest rail... It has yet to come in the mail yet. The only thing Im wondering about is cleaning the gas tube after shooting corrosive ammo.

You're rifle looks sweet man. I really like it.

  • @RaytheonPwnsYou Thanks for watching! Are you supposed to clean AKs? :-) It is pretty easy to take off especially if you have something good to balance the rifle. I put mine on without a rest and it was a bit of a challenge. Hope you enjoy your new setup!

  • @RaytheonPwnsYou Also, it could have been Band of Horses...I had Pandora playing in the background.

  • I like !!!

  • @lorenzocorrealeon Thanks!

  • Is an ak legal in the usa ?

  • @lorenzocorrealeon Check with your state laws. In Georgia, we can own an AK variant rifle (semi-auto) but there are unfortunate laws that we have to follow with parts and other things. The point is, know your state laws.

  • @n2wilderness I live in Georgia too and plan on buying an AK 74 soon. What are the parts restrictions? Are they listed online anywhere? Do you know if they can be used for hunting?

I like your enhancements, especially the quad rail. I'll probably go for a shorter folding stock or an adjustable length stock option though. Have you looked at any folding bipods?

  • @aerhearts I'm not sure about he parts restrictions. I assumed that since I was buying the gun new in the US that Arsenal would be doing things legally. All the parts I've added have been made in the US except the stock so I guess I'm fine. Probably not the best advice :-)

I haven't looked into the bipods yet although I will probably get one if I take the gun hunting. I do know that in GA you can't exceed a 5 round mag while hunting.

    Thanks for watching!

  • Just about the only thing I would never do to my AK is put one of those Buffer things. AK's have been working fine for decades and where designed with out the buffer thing so thats just me.

  • definitely turned out nice!

  • Very nice

  • @n2wilderness. Very nice! I have a couple questions though. The the side folding stock, is mounting optics still possible? Also, with the tactical rail, how accessible is the gas tube?

  • @Rucka4life1 Thanks! I have not mounted optics on this rifle but there is little room when the stock is folded so I doubt it. The MI rail is easy to take down so the gas tube is very accessible.

  • @n2wilderness

I like the AFG1 quite a bit. I've had a little experience before using it on my AR and once I put the MI rail on my Arsenal, that was the first thing I put on. Cheers.

  • So do you have to take rail off before you clean it?

  • Beautiful. I have the same MI rail on my SGL-21. I also put an AFG1 and I'm using an Aimpoint Pro as my red dot. Might have to copy that stock of yours. Cheers.

  • @rdeeeezy How do you like that AFG1? I have found myself still holding the magazine instead of the vertical grip.

  • The gun looks great. I'm thinking of adding an adapter to my Arsenal so that I can use an AR VLTOR stock. I'm also gonna get an MI frorend too after seeing yours.

  • Got the same rifle and put the same MI rail on it. I havent had any accuracy issues with it. I did put a Hogue grip on it tho.

As for the stock I plan on replacing the OEM stock and was looking to get a triangle stock. but only thing that stopped me from getting the Arsenal one is that I dont like how much it sticks out in the back.

  • @gndmpnk It does stick out but I don't know how much so compared to other side folders. The nice thing about the Arsenal folder is you only need a screw driver to make it work...no drilling required. Thanks for watching.

  • Arsenal's are great AKs. I like the grip and railed handguard you installed. I would have stuck with the fixed stock. Get rid of the buffer. It can cause reliability problems and is not needed. Buy steel surplus magazines if you're on a budget. Much tougher than the Tapco's and usually cheaper. If you can afford them, Circle 10's are the best magazines available for the AK.

  • @ironcladd1 Good thoughts. I'm going to shoot with the buffer for a while and report back if I have reliability issues. I bought the Tapco 3 mags from Sportsman's Guide for $25 which seemed like a good deal. How much heavier are the steel mags? Where do you buy your Circle 10's from?

  • @n2wilderness Steel mags are probably twice as heavy as Tapco. Black Circle 10's were available from dsarms or sksman. Just call them to see if they are still available. These mags have been very scarce over the last 6 months.

  • I also have an SGL-21 and I use Tapco mags as well. Same functionality as the more expensive ones for half the price, if not less. I haven't upgraded my AK yet. I use a Hogue grip and I love the look and feel of it, it's perfect for me. I don't like the folding stocks on AK's most of the time, so I would have stayed with the fixed stock. I like the rail you put on there and I think I would have put either a long grip or a magpul AFG on it. does the rail effect accuracy? I like your video =)

  • @BeanDip0913 I picked up 6 of the mags from Sportsman's Guide for about $50 and they have worked well for me too. I just put the MI Rail on yesterday so no reports on accuracy yet but I'll try putting up a follow up video next time I get out to the range.

  • Nice video

  • @BeanDip0913 Thanks BeanDip!
