why am i always just slightly disappointed when amy does vocals for this song? feist does it best. and i dont care how many thumbs down i get for that judgement call.
yeah, but i never thought anyone could do better than emily on "17 year old girl" and amy OWNS that song. also, you can hear the words when amy sings. much as i love fiest, all her bss vocals are just as indistinguishable as k drew's are. i don't know why she can articulate when she's solo and not with bss.
I was talking about 7/4 shoreline, which is best performed by miss Feist. Why is her version on the album? And if you think Kevin Drew's voice is "indistinguishable" in Broken Social Scene, you probably don't know their music well enough, since he is one of the founding members. Feist's vocals along with the rest are not always clear because, well, that's the nature of their group. Beautiful, ephereal sounds. That's what makes BSS my favorite group.
by "indistinguishable" i didn't mean that i don't recognize his voice, as opposed to brendan canning or andrew whiteman. i know i'm listening to kevin in bss, in the "presents album" or in brendan's latest. i love kevin's voice. i just don't understand more than 40% of the words. and this can't be just me; why else would he have written "make sure ghosts doesn't sound like goats"?
Again, i have to say, the nature of their music is sound. I don't think it needs to be 100% clear or understood perfectly the first time around. What a boring group it would be if that were the case. If you have a problem with it, then listen to top 40 where you can hear all their four letter words clearly.
Also, to me it doesnt matter what they look like. They are all quite beautiful people, regardless of your horrible wardrobe advice.
calm down, wade (aardvark?). we're both fans. there's no need to start throwing heat around about top 40 (something i've never listened to in my life). also, why was my comment about wardrobe horrible compared to "the fat woman should dress better"? where is your righteous anger when it's amy being judged harshly for her looks?
I think Amy does a fantastic job with this song! Look up the Zed TV version of Shoreline (with Amy)

While Feist is the queen of Canadien Indie Rock, Amy isn't bad herself.

you would think the fat woman would dress better

why should amy dress better than the rest of them? i love broken social scene like gods, but they need a wardrobe consultant.
