It does produce a crapton of downforce, not for its size, but for the fact that it is a road car. It is a production car, but that still doesn't mean that it'll kick ass in Formula 1. In fact, I think that it would be safe to say that it would get ass-kicked in Formula 1.
Only if they driver is really damn good, and they do some modification, such as removing the extra seat, and even more drastic lightening of the car, such as thinner body panels.
Holy shit, this promo movie is better than the other one! I love the statistics as well as actually seeing the car being driven. I just have one thing to say after watching this video:
This car would kick ass in the LeMans, NASCAR, Indy, and perhaps even Formula 1. If only the T1 would come to the US, though...
it would run out of petrol too early in Le Mans, Nascar, maybe, Indy, most likely not, but Formula 1 DEFINITELY NOT. It only gets (only is used to compare here) 1000 bhp/tonne, while formula 1 cars get around 1500. In addition to this, the Caparo doesn't produce nearly as much downforce, and is heavier.

On slick tyres it might be as fast as Formula 3, but no way close to F1.

Ah. Wait, doesn't it still produce a crapton of downforce for its size, though. And it IS a production car, after all.
