If all I had were the amount I used to demonstrate the equipment then I would just pan it out as you have indicated. However, since most prospectors have multiple 5 gallon buckets of sluiced/dredged material that will require classification and eventual separation. This system would be as useful as a Blue Bowl or Spiral Wheel separation system and just as effective as either.
Both of the afore mentioned pieces of equipment are ridiculously priced when compared to the system I have presented here for what you actually get for your purchase dollar. Those pieces of equipment require just as much or even more pre-classification of material before final separation is accomplished.
To those that like to hand pan lots of concentrates I say - have at and have fun!
Personally, I don't find being hunched over a tub of water panning out multiple buckets of material for hours on end only to have to pan the same material again and possibly again to be sure I got all the available gold out. After all, no one is perfect at panning - least of all me!
@vaughncollins if you are in an area yo know will produce gold. now you have the ability to go there dig material and if you do all you classifying there you gan take home multiple buckets of substrate and just run it through this maching at you own leisure. then you turn multiple buckets into 1 or 2 quick pans of good concentrates.
the benefits are no boring garage tub panning and lots of saved time and faster cleanups. which means MORE GOLD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
@djc12c no problem. i think this is a cool device, if i spent as much time prospecting on the river as i did fishing i would have to invest in one of these
it looks like i can do that with my fish water tank pump.... I do think it's neat though..lol

Your welcome!
Thanks for the question!

wouldn't it be a whole lot easier, if you have such a small amount of classified material, just to pan it out?
the time involved with that system just to put it into a pan anyways just seems useless?
can you explain what the benefits are to using this system?
