  • Soo... Feeding sharks protects them?

I'm just a bit concerned that we now bump into them while taking DSDs on the shallow sites. They've been spotted on all four, Jardines, Shangri-la, Chun-zumbul and Moc-che.

  • Shark feeding is ILEGAL. This activity changes radically their behaviour, adding a lot of risk to the diving activity. You should really stop doing this. Bull sharks in Playa used to be seasonal and now they are resident. This activity should be banned and fined. SAY NO TO SHARK FEEDING!

  • Illegal? Where does the law state that? -- We don't support Shark Feeding, but think of this: Playa Fishermen and Isla Mujeres fishermen fish out close to 30 to 40 sharks a day out of Chronos Boat in the open waters... sooo, as long as Playa 'resident' sharks stay out of the fishermans way, i think its one shark more for the ocean.

  • From a marines biologist point of view, i can go on and on on this topic, but I think it doesnt change an eco system as a shark wont be full out of the 40 fish divers/fishermen give them in Playa. Take Bahamas and Cuba where they are now protected, they are fed and protected sharks now; here NO ONE, NO ONE protects them. Divers dont harm them, as divers love marine life. Thats my opinion.
