you wanna know what the greatest shame is... warriors like the spartan hoplites or immortals, or praetorians or bulcan archers are lost to the world now, for war takes no skill, its all mind and machines... and no honour or pride :(
Actually you are wrong.. there are warriors theese days who fights with honor and pride at war. And if during those times it took a skill to KILL at war. Than today it takes even more to SURVIVE.
lol and the immortals looked nothing like those in the film. And i think the toughest meanest and strongest warriors of all time have to be the Britons, or the Gauls. (Roman times) =p
.......spartans were fighting machines....they where trained by the age of 7 until their death.....they were indestructible in every mean......in roman times soldiers were some fat gyes that in half day the ate and the other they watched arena
and much more. That's why many people today commend the Spartans for all that they accomplished; for all that it's worth, they've secured their place in history as some of the strongest, hardened warriors ever grafted.
They lost the war; this much is true. However, it doesn't mean it isn't possible. They may have lost the war, but they proved to the Persians they weren't going to bow down to them.
Their bravery still stands as a stalwart example of standing up for your rights, and such; not only did they sacrifice everything, they fought until the very last man, even their king, died.
@ sandwraith56: Yes, Spartans were real alright. They're still known throughout the world for their tactics, strategy..
Well the first spartans to fight died but when the persians actually arrived at sparta all the remaining spartans we're prepared because the queen knew that the spartans wouldn't make it plus they struck a deal with the Athenians and they united with them and than they wipped the Persian's hides
The story is fictional, with loose ties to reality. The war was real, The 300 soldiers were real. However, The ending, with them rushing the persians? Yeah, the spartans lost that war.
The ending was the begining of the Battle of Plataea, that last battle in the Graeco-Persian war. Thermoplyae was a battle, not an entire war. Greeks won the war kid, sorry to dissapoint you.
do not underestimate them just because the movie shows it this way. spartans have all my respect, I want to make that clear. But I guess there was a reason they were called Immortals...they were humans of course but they had something that earned that name for them. just like the spartans among greeks.
and the same is for each and every soldier in history who were better than the ordinary.
I guess they existed. to admit I didn't check the info about them but I heared a few things...correct me if I'm wrong but the way I know they were real...as spartans were legendary between the greeks, preatorians in the roman empire, or whatever unit u mention...they all earned respect and fear...today's military...SWAT, SAS, rangers, NZSAS or the russian SPEZNAZ were the same in a way of meaning
(p.s. if any1 knows better or thinks I'm wrong correct me pls. thanx)
they got it bcuz they use to be an army by themselfs and they were burned alive, most of them were, but they all survived, so back then they though bcuz they survived they were immortal
That's not true, tiicckk. They were called 'immortals' Because of the fact that they were an elite guard, Always kept at 10,000 troops exactly. When one was killed, or died of illness, He was immediately replaced by another soldier, Thus making it like they never lost a member of their ranks. They seemed, As it were, 'immortal'.
it was one of the persian 'creatures from the four corners of their empire' it is not real but it is supposed to encompase the way the spartans saw their creatures (such as elephants, rhinos, lions etc) that we have seen countless times but they have never seen yet are ordered to kill them, the 'orge-like thing' is just pure myth
You're completely wrong. Adema's former lead singer Mark Chavez is the half-brother of Jonathan Davis of Korn. He is in no way related to Chester Bennington (LP's lead singer), although he is a good friend of his.
This song was for the Mortal Combat game on ps2 and is not in any of the albums, but if you bought the game you'll have the original video for this song on your disk as a bonus =P
favorite movie of all time i am so happy i got to see it in theaters ( even though we missed the first 20 min cause we snuck in) but does ne1 know wen it comes on dvd?

Wow, this video has nice flow. I like the music selection, kinda ironic =^-^=
Only thing I noticed was, during the very very end, the music cut out a little abruptly. Personally I like a little longer fade out, but it's more personal opinion. Nicely done though
time to play the game for drowning pool was better for this video

then you may want to steer clear of this film... it's got a little bit of truth behind it but alot of it is historically inaccurate.

goldenkoufet 2 years ago
Gauls were simular to Britons.
Most of them were very muscular, and liked to carry claymores into battle (claymores are big swords...not mines =p)
They were also famous for their bloodlust bravery and battle cry, A few of them could make you piss your pants heheheh
