This explanation for the location of oil is grossly simplified; the location of plate boundaries has little to do with it; there are far more important factors, such as the depth history of possible oil-bearing sedimentary rocks, rock porosity, & the presence of a "capping" rock layer. GlobalResearch The Fateful Geological Prize Called Haiti Jan 30, 2010
I am sure HAARP was involved with the earthquake. Tectonic bomb could have been used.
"1/12/10 earthquake was on a fault line that passes near potential gas reserves." Stephen Pierce, geologist, for 30 years for companies that included former Mobil Corp. The quake may have cracked rock formations along the fault, allowing gas or oil to temporarily seep toward the surface, he said Monday in a telephone interview.
I personally hope never to hear the words "new world order" on this network again without, at least some, direct and open skepticism. Maybe they should do a special on the topic so that they can clearly make their stance on how serious a matter of journalism that subject can be. This is simply appealing to internet audiences by not telling them what they don't want to hear; in the same manner as mainstream news but simply with a different demographic. I just hope.
Understand that whereas the term "new world order" has been given a very scary meaning by the conspiracy theory crowd (aliens and the illuminatis and the federal reserve going to enslave america or something...), it's been used quite a few times by leaders, to mean a great change, e.g. after WW2 and the creation of the UN and international law, people said we had entered a new world order, or after the collapse of the USSR people said we had entered a new world order,...
Gordon Brown must be a NWO conspiracy theory lunatic: in his last speech he used at least four times the expression "new world order"...And the President of the Europe (Mr Whateveverhisnamepompuy) said "New Global Order" (perhaps a rebranding of the old NWO?)
free from the superpower rivalry hampered efforts to respect international law etc etc. So, the NWO conspiracies are of course totally crazy, but don't assume that someone automatically is a NWO conspiracist just cos he used the term new world order. TRNN (thankfully) doesn't push NWO fearmongering, and Engdahl doesn't seem to believe or care about NWO conspiracies either, and what he says is quite reasonable (i.e. agree or disagree with what he says- but he's making a rational argument, ...
not jumping around shouting NWO), so I take it the 'NWO' in his books isn't related to the conspiracy theory NWO. He probably means the post-Cold War NWO. Though the reason why he chose to put a mention to an (undefined) NWO in his books titles is *probably* to attract the conspiracy theorist crowd to buy his books... which is very lame. But nevertheless he's making interesting points.
The US has known there is oil in Haiti since the 70s. There are at least 7 of them that are designated Strategic US oil reserves. Theres more oil in Haiti than there is in Venezuala. Which is the 20th largest exporter in the world. Haiti couldve become a very rich country and lifted itself from poverty if it was allowed to. The US is why Haiti is so poor. As well as the UN, IMF and the dictators that our govt helped rob their own people. More lies on top of lies.
@coronaboy10 and it's the Haitians themselves who are so eager to defend America saying "Oh America have helped us and done this and that" when they're just blinded by their lies. If i propose to my parents, whom are Haitians, the possibility of America not being as innocent as they appear to be they'd start ganging up and me and calling me crazy. If only we would open our eyes and stop letting other countries take advantage of us.
Look at what the U.S. are trying to do to Cuba. Cuba has started exploring for oil in the waters northwest of the island. The U.S. are kicking up a fuss claiming it would be an environmental catastrophe. LOL How many U.S.-owned oil platforms are there in the Gulf right now? Just more bullshit from the NWObama administration.
Are you telling me that true intentions of the U.S. Government were this and not really helping Haitians? what a shock! *sarcasm implied. No wonder the responce from the Government was WAYY quicker than it was during the Katrina disaster. makes you think.
Right haiti has oil... sure. His explanation is that it wasn't explored. Oil reserves are NOT located near fault lines any geologist knows that (google why is that).
"totalitarian" and "democracy" are two words that should never be used together. thats an oxymoron... As is this guy who is talking.
Watch 'the truthergirls' video on HAARPO. There are grafts showing the activety which caused the quake....at first I thought it was population control...now I know they were after the oil.
Because a country with a "democracy" is taking total control over things. It shouldn't be, but it is and thats why he used both words together. A play on words if you will.
yea but you and I both know that America is anything BUT a democracy. we vote for who they tell us to vote for. and then once they're "elected" be it by the electoral college or by the supreme court they write laws specifically geared towards benefitting the super wealthy because the super wealthy are who pay the most for the laws. NOT "democracy".
So basically they are saying US won't leave Haiti even after they are back to normal and they used the earthquake as an excuse. Just like they did in Saudi Arabia after kuwait war, and which is what pissed off a certain fundamentalist Muslim and now we have plane flying in our skyscrapers.
It certainly is an interesting point of view, but it requires more investigation and concrete evidence. 1 Billion barrels of oil will not do much when we are talking about the global picture. Even if there was oil there, it would take years for it to come online.
It is more likely that the US is taking advantage of the situation based on the recent moves regarding Russia and the joint Naval exercises they held with Cuba & Venezuela. A Russian counter move due to the US supporting Georgia.
I believe the oil target is Venezuela. One has to consider the US Militarys recently acquired carte blanche use of the Columbian infrastructure and military bases. The US military will now enjoy complete dominion over the South American continent and Haiti is right between Cuba & Venezuela.
No, it's not. Everything points to the fact that world is running out of oil. Nothing makes sense with the "oil is everywhere" claim, it's exactly the opposite. Geological facts nor geopolitics do not match that theory.
However there might be some creditability to the claim that US secret foreign policy is about preventing the development of these resources, but the reason would be to save them as tactical reserves. That is, prevent from them being used up.
Well duh! All planets have gas, thanks einstein. where do I think ours came from? well lets see, I think there was a huge volcanic eruption 65,000 yrs. ago, that almost wiped out animal and plant life, I think that the stuff that was killed off fermented and much like wine, we had oil. Hell, I believe in fossils too. And your brain? I am all ears. Explain away. Dont be a dummy
oil is geologicaly produced an this clip shows that it is accesible around major plate movement as in the middle east ... the key oil points are near plate movement ... an the geologically made oil an gas seeps up to the surface of the crust ... never seen oil coming out of a volcano before
Time to re think everything we have all been told so much crap through the education system ... time to throw away the crap ideas an lets start thinking an talking ... discuss my ideas ... open your mind please Sir/Mam
agreed oil can be made from anything but as u say far easier to take it from the earth jack the price up by telling us that is scarce ... Glad people are thinking :))))
... i just think the current reasons given for the existance of oil are a load of horse crap an my guess is that coal is actually oil that has come to the surface an died up so to speak, hence its in long channels.
Of course it was bs. As soon as i heard haiti earthquake + humanitarian disaster + us military aid + bush & clinton it was over. You just have to know how this stuff works.
? this is dangerous thought, NGOs can be phony or inefficient but what you say is basically: "screw them I won't help, they're bs anyways" and if we all thought so no one would help Haiti... What IS bs is the military aid...
As ever the US is happy to spend Billions on MILITARY intervention while millions suffer the after effects of a devastating quake.. as ever I am disgusted by the lack of compassion on the part of the greedy oligarchs who seek to dominate everyone on this planet.
Free energy is available RIGHT NOW & its being supressed by self-serving corporate monsters & their pocket politicians.
Its NOT a 'New World Order'.. its the old world order trying desperately to re-package themselves as 'new'
No one is preventing you from liquidating every last item of property that you own, and including that value with all the money you process now, and in the future, and giving it to Haiti.
My point was that US politicians are prepared to spend BILLIONS on war, domination, killing & murdering innocent civilians etc.. but don't spend ANYTHING LIKE that sort of money on compassion, care, humanitarian aid etc etc...
your ridiculous post just proves my point.
But then American politicians don't even care about Americans (healthcare is an obvious example) so I suppose its just way out hippy liberal of me to think they'd care about others on this planet!
With a population of over 9-million, Haiti would need to have at least as much oil as Saudi Arabia for any proceeds to enrich more than the 5 families. Even at $100 a barrel, and assuming that to be a total profit divided equally amongst all the citizens, it would be less than $20 a day. This notion of oil-wealth, as the Russians have discovered, is illusory, once that so-called wealth is directed beyond the oligarchy. Natural resources are seldom an end in themselves.
especially when those resources are used to produce JUNK that breaks or is 'obsolete' within a short time.
also the loss of the 'environment' which is destroyed in the process of extracting those resources is the real tragedy here... as the poor in West Africa have already discovered, when the dumping of oil industry 'waste' into the environment leads to illness & death.
The oil industry has saved the whale (oil lamps), the working horse and dog, and underpins the agriculture that makes it possible for there to be 6.5-billion people in the world. The environment--as amply demonstrated by the Haiti earthquake--does what it does, and will look after itself, in the long run, and makes no allowance for how many people get injured or killed. The Trafigura issue was nuts, but they paid more than 200-times over, for that error of judgement.
The 'oil' from whales AND crude oil could be replaced with Industrial HEMP oil which grows on rough (otherwise useless) soil!
The by-product would be PULP & a plethora of other products.
I'm GLAD the oil industry paid thru the nose for that "error of judgement".. but of course if YOUR family had been killed by that "error of judgement" you might see it differently! eh?
bloody fool... I suppose that's why it was described as the world's first BILLION dollar crop over 80 years ago (just before it was banned)
Try READING what people say... I said "Industrial Hemp"... which has almost ZERO psychotropic properties (but HUNDREDS of applications that would COMPETE with the fosil fuelled 'corporate' model we're slave-labouring under.
So leave out the 'hippy' BS.. I was too young to be a 'hippy' I was from the PUNK ROCK generation X.
Leaving the hippy commune out of the equation, there is the issue about the land upon which the industrial hemp is to be grown. Given the furore over the land set aside to grow bio-fuel crops, in lieu of food crops, industrial hemp would seem to have limited acceptability. You did cite the use of low-grade land, but even low-grade land would need to be made suitable for production with machines, and has to replenished with some degree of fertiliser, which is mostly made from fossil fuels.
The 'low grade' land on which Industrial Hemp can grow is not being used now & from altitude to near desert conditions.. Hemp thrives like no other plant.
The world's farmers are slowly waking up to the TRAP they have been led into by 'fertilizer' companies. The fact is when you farm intensively you deplete the soil structure & end up with soil erosion & then NEED fertilisers to grow ANYTHING at all
Organic farming, as per Prince Charles, is a highly labour intensive activity, and would require that labour works for subsistence wages, which even Afghans wouldn't accept. In addition, New Zealand is under fire over the methane produced by its cattle and pig production, so an alternative to fertilizer from the likes of Koch Industries could be a problem. US crude oil production averaged 5.31 million bbl/d, every day and night of 2009. That's a lot of hemp, for a growing season.
well of course it requires changes in so-called 'life-style'!
This is what most people like you who don't get it ALWAYS leave out of the equasion.
You think we need to replace all the WASTEFUL & ridiculous practices of the past 100 years.. eg gas guzzlers of 5 litres when an electric car (or GOOD public trasnsport) running on 'renewable' energy will do fine.
Likewise we can cut domestic energy needs dramatically just by insulating, producing renewable energy closer to users & low-energy goods
@charlessmyth, hemp can be grown as food and as a source of bio-fuel, so your point is moot. Also, hemp and the soil it's grown in doesn't require the massive amounts of fertilizer as most crops.
Even though it is not beyond the realms of possibility, it is highly unlikely that saving the whale was in the forefront of David Rockefeller's mind. Nevertheless, without the development of the oil industry, whales would be almost extinct and the world, as you and I know it and take for granted today, would be akin to the conditions of Europe in and around the early 19th century. No 40 hour weeks. No air travel, etc., etc. As for the whales: Hail Rockefeller! Hail Rockefeller!
Sails, rope, medicine, fabrication of products ... its been demonized to stop the average man/woman from doing stuff for free.
Thomas Jeffersion wrote that he used to smoke hemp an so did George Washington ... all freedoms and rights have been taken from us ... lets get them back
I would skip worrying about hemp, for the time being, and concentrate on getting more than 40% of US voters out to vote, in 2010/2012. This is important because the constitution and bill of rights have been replaced by the Federal Government and its institutions.
I agree 8% of people in the USA wont the current politicans re-elected ... time for people to stand up an vote them out ... i bet those damn electronic counting machines will be used for no good ... I will try an keep going on everthing ... an do take your point seriously :)
When too few voters vote, the electorally marginal states and counties become much more susceptible to election rigging, which is not limited to US democracy.
I just learned today in my engineering class that Hemp-Lime is a great product for construction. It is a much better insulator, greatly regulates humidity, and is a cheaper and cleaner product that actively takes part in carbon sequestration as oppose to concrete, which requires decarbonization and major CO2 release in order to fire the cement ingredient. However, concrete is better at sustaining compression loads. But I think nearly all homes in the country should be built with Hemp-Lime.
You are correct. Preval was once on an ally of Aristide. He was voted by the Haitian people in 2006 because they thought he would bring Aristide back. Preval then sold out. I'm suspecting he was bought and paid for. I remember Carter attempted to pay Aristide back in the early 90s so that he doesn't run for president.
All I know is that the earthquake was extremely localized and discriminatory. No one can understand how the DR shares an island with Haiti and areas of Haiti that's close to the DR were hit but the DR remained untouched.
I was thinking that same thing. Here's a conspiracy for you; I wonder if Nikoli Tessla's inventions are being abused to obtain money and these natural phenomena are man-made but "mother nature" is taking the wrap.
I am HAITIAN, and I know that most Haitians are not receiving aid. If you look in the news, you won't see not one tent. All you'll see are sheets led together with sticks. Many have told me that they're being pressured to leave the capital for the countryside, supposedly so the imperialists can do their jobs in peace.
Remember Columbus was infatuated with Haiti for her gold, which he enriched himself with by looting the country and killing the people en mass. con't.
Oil was discovered in Haiti a long time ago. The greater Antilles is known to have many hundreds of billions of barrels of oil. Less than three years ago, Cuba, Haiti's neighbor, discovered 200 billions of barrels of oil.
The reason why the media has incessantly portrayed Haiti as a shit hole is to UNDERMINE the imperial interest in the country by France, Canada, and the US.
Notice how the first thing that comes to the mind of a typical person is, "There's nothing in Haiti the US wants."
bullshit...do you know that BIG OIL is buying back its share? why if there is a so big amount of oil in the world?billions of barrel..do you know that the world oil consumption is 1 billion/12 days?...dont' believe in tv, they are trying to keep you quiet to avoid panic...
we are not running out of oil, the problem is that it is too expensive to extract...in the 20's we spent 1 barrel to extract 100 barrels...NOW THE RATE IS 1/6...DONT' WATCH TELEVISION PLEASE!
and have to research about what geologist says, about data extraction, about what BIG OIL is doing with all its shares, about the meaning to have the barrel at 147 usd two years before, about the meaning ' too expansive to extract'. about the meaning that nobodies is making new petrol carriers, about the meaning that UK. USA;BRAZIL etch were oil exporters now they are importers, about the meaning of 'BILLION BARRELS OF OIL' when our consunption is 1billions/12days and it is growing..dreamer!
Well we have been feed lies about everything ... I do think oil is geologicaly produced in the earth / crust.
I think its about 85 mil barrels of oil a day ... but have no problem with your figures.
An interesting thing to look at is the Turkish Petroleum Co. an the Iraq Petroleum company ... the competing oil from Iraq was deliberatly kept off the market for decades ... so many lies that we have been told. Theres oil everywhere, its supply has been regulated as well as the price.
Is not what you think is what independent geologists are saying...from 2008(year of the peak) to now we have lost 2 millions everyday( a country like germany is without oil)..oil is produced in the earth?oh God!..So why US fields are so dry, and US import the 85% and, before 1970, year of the peak , USA has considerd the ARABIA of the west countries? Why Mexico(look at production rate of Cantarell oil field, horrific) has spend a huge money to build the gratest eolic plant of the world?
I personnelly its all lies about peak oil ... this clip demotrates that their is abundant oil ... an lots of it. The lies that the world at large have been told are mind boggling
The comments by people re this clip are very encouraging ... an before I started investigating my view was the same as yours, but I realised that I had been programed with those ideas ... thank you for your contributions Once again, the lvl of comments for this clip are fantastic, its been a pleasure to be involved
ok Tod..is a plesure to discuss with well educated people..but with me happen the exact contrary, i was believing that petrol was a neverending resource, but now i am strongly convinced that we are close to a disaster, we will see in a very short time....for now, i am doing what ex president Bush has alrady done, i have bought a little farm making it completely independent, see you in three years!
final note u could well be right about no oil in 3 years time so easy to start a war in the middle east ... which one could easily agrue is deliberate.
I think what u have done is a very smart thing ... best wishes.
Hi Tod...i dont' say no oil in 3 years, in 3 years we will see the effect of the peak very hard, the final depression will start...Now we are on the edge..90/100 usd/barrel is considerd the maximum price that a country can support to stay up, when price achieved 147 all the the world has seen the effect, this economy crisis is the son of that price, the subprime problem was the first sympthom...good luck for all

I just hope.
eggory 2 years ago
Understand that whereas the term "new world order" has been given a very scary meaning by the conspiracy theory crowd (aliens and the illuminatis and the federal reserve going to enslave america or something...), it's been used quite a few times by leaders, to mean a great change, e.g. after WW2 and the creation of the UN and international law, people said we had entered a new world order, or after the collapse of the USSR people said we had entered a new world order,...
PavedStones 2 years ago 4
Gordon Brown must be a NWO conspiracy theory lunatic: in his last speech he used at least four times the expression "new world order"...And the President of the Europe (Mr Whateveverhisnamepompuy) said "New Global Order" (perhaps a rebranding of the old NWO?)
Zzozze 2 years ago
free from the superpower rivalry hampered efforts to respect international law etc etc.
PavedStones 2 years ago
not jumping around shouting NWO), so I take it the 'NWO' in his books isn't related to the conspiracy theory NWO. He probably means the post-Cold War NWO. Though the reason why he chose to put a mention to an (undefined) NWO in his books titles is *probably* to attract the conspiracy theorist crowd to buy his books... which is very lame. But nevertheless he's making interesting points.
PavedStones 2 years ago
You make a good point. I suppose RealNews didn't necessarily indorce or humour conspiracy theory after all. Much respect.

Look at what the U.S. are trying to do to Cuba. Cuba has started exploring for oil in the waters northwest of the island.
2minstral 2 years ago
I believe the oil target is Venezuela. One has to consider the US Militarys recently acquired carte blanche use of the Columbian infrastructure and military bases. The US military will now enjoy complete dominion over the South American continent and Haiti is right between Cuba & Venezuela.
2minstral 2 years ago 4
"the world is swimming in oil"
No, it's not. Everything points to the fact that world is running out of oil. Nothing makes sense with the "oil is everywhere" claim, it's exactly the opposite. Geological facts nor geopolitics do not match that theory.
However there might be some creditability to the claim that US secret foreign policy is about preventing the development of these resources, but the reason would be to save them as tactical reserves. That is, prevent from them being used up.

oh do me a favour..
My point was that US politicians are prepared to spend BILLIONS on war, domination, killing & murdering innocent civilians etc.. but don't spend ANYTHING LIKE that sort of money on compassion, care, humanitarian aid etc etc...
your ridiculous post just proves my point.
But then American politicians don't even care about Americans (healthcare is an obvious example) so I suppose its just way out hippy liberal of me to think they'd care about others on this planet!
ejbh3160 2 years ago 3
With a population of over 9-million, Haiti would need to have at least as much oil as Saudi Arabia for any proceeds to enrich more than the 5 families. Even at $100 a barrel, and assuming that to be a total profit divided equally amongst all the citizens, it would be less than $20 a day. This notion of oil-wealth, as the Russians have discovered, is illusory, once that so-called wealth is directed beyond the oligarchy. Natural resources are seldom an end in themselves.
charlessmyth 2 years ago
@charlessmyth
especially when those resources are used to produce JUNK that breaks or is 'obsolete' within a short time.
also the loss of the 'environment' which is destroyed in the process of extracting those resources is the real tragedy here... as the poor in West Africa have already discovered, when the dumping of oil industry 'waste' into the environment leads to illness & death.
ejbh3160 2 years ago 2
The oil industry has saved the whale (oil lamps), the working horse and dog, and underpins the agriculture that makes it possible for there to be 6.5-billion people in the world. The environment--as amply demonstrated by the Haiti earthquake--does what it does, and will look after itself, in the long run, and makes no allowance for how many people get injured or killed. The Trafigura issue was nuts, but they paid more than 200-times over, for that error of judgement.
charlessmyth 2 years ago
@charlessmyth
and again.. do me a favour!
The 'oil' from whales AND crude oil could be replaced with Industrial HEMP oil which grows on rough (otherwise useless) soil!
The by-product would be PULP & a plethora of other products.
I'm GLAD the oil industry paid thru the nose for that "error of judgement".. but of course if YOUR family had been killed by that "error of judgement" you might see it differently! eh?

Hemp might provide enough oil for a hippy commune.
charlessmyth 2 years ago
bloody fool...
--:-D
ejbh3160 2 years ago 2
Leaving the hippy commune out of the equation, there is the issue about the land upon which the industrial hemp is to be grown. Given the furore over the land set aside to grow bio-fuel crops, in lieu of food crops, industrial hemp would seem to have limited acceptability. You did cite the use of low-grade land, but even low-grade land would need to be made suitable for production with machines, and has to replenished with some degree of fertiliser, which is mostly made from fossil fuels.
charlessmyth 2 years ago
lol.. you just don't get it (there's a surprise)
The 'low grade' land on which Industrial Hemp can grow is not being used now & from altitude to near desert conditions.. Hemp thrives like no other plant.
The world's farmers are slowly waking up to the TRAP they have been led into by 'fertilizer' companies. The fact is when you farm intensively you deplete the soil structure & end up with soil erosion & then NEED fertilisers to grow ANYTHING at all
Organic farmers understand it even if YOU don't.
ejbh3160 2 years ago
Organic farming, as per Prince Charles, is a highly labour intensive activity, and would require that labour works for subsistence wages, which even Afghans wouldn't accept. In addition, New Zealand is under fire over the methane produced by its cattle and pig production, so an alternative to fertilizer from the likes of Koch Industries could be a problem. US crude oil production averaged 5.31 million bbl/d, every day and night of 2009. That's a lot of hemp, for a growing season.
charlessmyth 2 years ago
well of course it requires changes in so-called 'life-style'!
Likewise we can cut domestic energy needs dramatically just by insulating, producing renewable energy closer to users & low-energy goods
ejbh3160 2 years ago
Oh.. and intensively farmed MEAT is the worst of the lot!
Its poor quality food & it takes 10 pounds of grain to grow ONE pound of meat!
Its wasteful, greedy, unhealthy & extremely bad for the health of both people & planet!
All things... but in moderation.
Mono-culturre farming & mono-culture 'diets' are no good for anyone except greedy speculators & corporate oligarchs.

ejbh3160 2 years ago

Renegen1 2 years ago
Even though it is not beyond the realms of possibility, it is highly unlikely that saving the whale was in the forefront of David Rockefeller's mind. Nevertheless, without the development of the oil industry, whales would be almost extinct and the world, as you and I know it and take for granted today, would be akin to the conditions of Europe in and around the early 19th century. No 40 hour weeks. No air travel, etc., etc. As for the whales: Hail Rockefeller! Hail Rockefeller!

TodMcInerney 2 years ago
I would skip worrying about hemp, for the time being, and concentrate on getting more than 40% of US voters out to vote, in 2010/2012. This is important because the constitution and bill of rights have been replaced by the Federal Government and its institutions.

Preval then sold out. valhala56 2 years ago
