• haha im a stuffed pepper

    i like that

  • @beaufindley yea - i laughed a little when i wrote that part

  • And YEAH! I totally read that crap!

  • @ckXcore well I hope you can excuse my potty mouth!

  • @camdogie haha, I easily excuse cursing when it is done tastefully. Its when people turn the words into punctuations that I get perturbed

  • great!

  • @MikeMarino thanks, man.

  • I really enjoyed the video. I hope you keep making them.

  • @Arthur40TwoDent well thanks...I'm working on my next script now...but knowing me, it'll probably be another month at least before the video is ready...but thanks for the support.

  • p.s. on an audio quality note, the rode does sound great. you definitely need to boost the outbound in post though, this was way too quiet. at least it was consistent, though. ;-D

p.p.s. one cannot say on one hand that they aren't about 'dispensing justice,' then on the other explain that their motivation is to 'punish what deserves to be punished.' unless the man is insane or ignorant [which frank may be both]... because those that is the definition of dispensing justice. ;-P just sayin'.

  • @fecklessman on your p.p.s, I don't equate justice with punishment...you can call a myriad of things "punishment", but how many can really be "justice". Admittedly, I didn't look up justice and punishment before I wrote the script, but to me the criteria for "justice" are more stringent than those for "punishment"....if I'm not being clear, if a person steals an apple, one's punishment could be arm removal...but is that justice? - some might think so (like the punisher), but it's subjective.

  • @camdogie that makes sense. good clarification.

  • i've just got to ask: aside from the dialogue, what IS the difference between the two characters from the audience's perspective? because their voice is the same, their mannerisms are the same, their cadence, tone, and volume are all the same. honestly, if you didn't put their name at the bottom and put them in the same room with one another, i would've never known they were different people.

or is that the point? i think the excessive contrast and ominous lighting is playing tricks with me.

  • @fecklessman originally Frank Pivens' tone was going to be different than DK's, in fact, the script was going to go in a completely different direction. As I refined it though, I made them more similar because that's just kind of the way it went and I liked it...Frank does acknowledge that he is similar to DK..."...what is it that actually separates you and me?...", etc - so maybe that is the point...He and DK are two of the hitmen in the organization...John Ward was another.

  • @fecklessman and this one: "...in the eyes of a neutral observer, you and I are in fact equivalent."

  • @camdogie i'm speaking admittedly from ignorance; i haven't seen your previous videos. i've only watched this one and the one before it. i need to get caught up before i can see a noticeable difference from an outside perspective. what you're saying makes sense, but it seems like you aren't even 100% certain where you're going with it at this point. ;-D ... or is that the point? *chuckle*

  • @fecklessman I'm not certain...I'm just a guy who makes a video every now and then and really wasn't expecting critical analysis...but I am glad you've found this worthy of critical analysis - or mabye you just didn't like it.............whatever the case, pershate it.

  • @camdogie the former. of course i liked it. it was good. but critical analysis sort of rolls with the genre. it seemed fitting, at least to me.

  • I'm going to keep following your videos until you write in a different character. You definitely have the "intelligent hitman" down, but I'd still urge you to try writing or practicing completely different speech patterns.

    Otherwise, solid work.

  • @RuthlessVision noted.......out of curiosity, are you an actor? or were/are you involved in film? I've never had an acting coach (since I'm not an actor), but I feel like this is a comment an acting coach would have given me........not to say that I don't appreciate the advise or the fact that you watched - because I do.

  • @camdogie Not at all camdogie, I'm only a member of the audience. But as a writer, and director, you're better of trying more ranges of characters. You definitely have perfected the cold, collected killer, but can you do an oblivious thug, who's in too deep? A married man and father whose now going to die because it's simply business?

    Thanks for considering my advise.

  • You have a way with words, Cameron

  • @PHvlogger yea, I'm pretty good with my mouth.....lulz - but in all seriousness, thank you for the compliment.

  • You've outdone yourself again. I remember when I subbed you, I was like who is this guy?

Little did I know you would turn out to be this brilliant director and actor.

  • @Alex703rockstar That is quite a compliment that I probably don't objectively deserve, but I appreciate you saying that - I really do.

  • No spoiler in the description!!! AHH!!! I'm so going to rewatch all of your videos so I can pay close attention to everything. :D Your videos are superb. I'm glad your back in the game making videos. :)

  • @Edwardodude well, thank you for saying that and I appreciate you watching...sorry for the spoiler

  • You've excelled yourself again!

  • @MillionMilesAnHour Thanks....glad you liked it.

  • "sorry kids we can't all be winners."

You are so mysterious! I loved it. I always have to pay close attention because your writing is so spectacular it's easy for me to miss things.

You have such a wonderful and unique flow that I would love to actually be able to read the transcript of this. Do you ever post any of your writing anywhere?

  • @bmacfn16 I don't post it, but I would be happy to send it you if you want...I actually didn't make changes to the "official" script that I made after the last time I printed it...I also switched some lines around when actually editing the footage together...let me know, I'd be happy to.....

  • @camdogie I would absolutely love that! Please send it to me! Thanks!

  • @bmacfn16 email? or paste the text into a message?

  • @camdogie I guess email would be fine. I'll send you a youtube message with my email address. Thanks again!

  • I'm not entirely sure how the darker, more contrasting lighting in this piece is motivated by the characters themselves. It almost feels like you shot them like this simply for the "dramatic" look.

You've accomplished the dramatic without losing the beauty of the eyes before.

I still liked this video, but felt it to be a bit more static than others, could be all the new tech you're putting in has run into the way you have traditionally told your stories. It's not bad, just different I guess.

  • @themefund You're right, it is different - that was kind of my intention. This is the first video (that I recall) where I have had exclusively talking throughout the video (except at the end)...I wanted it to seem a little more "refined" and I suppose yes, "static" and to really be about the dialogue. I wasn't trying to convey any specific moods (I guess)...when I was watching the final renders of this video - what I mentioned above was what I got and I was pleased with it.....to be continued

  • @themefund I did put thought into the background and lighting, and yes, because of the new tech, I wanted to achieve a decent depth of field. I wanted Frank Pivens to seem like the darker of the two characters, while both are still dark, so I put him on the overall darker side....I wanted Dexter to seem less "dark" so he went on the lighter side...but he is still a "dark" character - hence the blackness on his left and the dead, black tree trunk (some might call it "art") in front of the light.

  • @themefund Thanks for watching it and commenting...I hope you don't regret the endorsement you gave me last week because of this video (which I greatly appreciated)...

  • @camdogie I would never regret something like that, I still think that dialogue in this episode is awesome, and I enjoyed the video, just found myself not enjoying it as much as I had previous videos.

One of the things I really love about your videos is your ability to "say without words," that is, to give a look or an camera angle that says more than dialogue ever could.

    (cont)

  • @camdogie This episode just was a "shot, counter-shot" video, which isn't bad, and when it's put in the grand scheme of the story line it makes sense, it just felt more bland than normal. But "more bland than normal" when referring to a video of yours is still pretty spicy.

Keep it up, I cant wait to see the next installment.

  • I actually DO read everything, but I'm still okay with you using dirty langauage in the description.

Here are a list of my fav lines:

"If the deal is made and you are still alive... I will kill you... "

“I'm not a sensitive man... I'm a sadistic killer... and a sick fuck...”

“Punishment is old and callous. It is not concerned with collateral damage. It doesn't care about children.” “I'm old testament.”

  • @Justtubed Those are also some of my favorites - thanks for watching to the end - I know it's kind of a long one.
