I don't really like this :( sorry. Somewhere along the line these girls haven't witnessed sharing. And then rewarding the tantrum with a thrown plastic cup? She's not a dog... I dunno, this "method" of parenting seems off. I'm a twin, and when my sister and I were kids, whatever one received, the other received. We've never had a fight lasting more than 2 seconds. You could have led the screaming child to another band thing, or called both of them to do something else that's fun. Just saying.

@crazysydnee Competition isn't sharing, nor is it learning how. Kids learn through prompts & watching. Adults need to model sharing. I don't like the distraction used; that's not how sharing is learned. Your question is good...yet my twin & I know how to share. My method works: take away the competition, & siblings get along better. Soon, they'll WANT to share cuz they'll have learned equality is key to sibling happiness; they'll even the odds themselves to achieve this happiness between them...
