  • hey is there a way to turn off UAC for a certain program because i have this game that i play and it has a little security shield next to it and every time i open it and it shows the UAC and asks me if i want to open it but i have other games that it does not prompt me on to open it....

  • hey XxXLtqiXxX,

i looked for something a while ago and didnt find anything, sorry. it sucks though, cause UAC would be so much better if it didnt ask me if i wanted to run mcafee, or other programs i know to be safe.

  • oh its okay i guess, but recently when i opened my control pannel it would go not responding and thenn i would not beable to use my task bar/ start until i exited the control pannel, but some times it works

  • adrian ... your a fag. Nobodies gonna open a program on your laptop. If they do, you need to uninstall windows and sell your computer on craigslist. I got nothin against you kid i just struggle to take you serious cuz your voice is so high =) .. ok ok im just joshin ur taters ...

  • For those who use the UAC, I've just uploaded a video describing how to get the same kind of feature in Windows XP...

[ Vista Security XP Style (MakeMeAdmin) ]

  • Thanks

  • my friend says i need to turn uac off for wolfenstein et?

  • Oh I just realised I posted two comments. Sorry Luis, my mistake!

  • thanks works great!

  • actually it doesn't show for me...

  • Turning off UAC is like leaving your front door wide open at 3AM. Leave it on and sure it drives you nuts but at least you know programs can not install by themselves and phoning back to its owner telling them your pc is ready to be hacked live on the net

  • I have to agree with vistalover on that one. Adrian you need more experience with Vista first ;-)

The only thing I really love is having the windows sidebar off =]

  • sidebar is awesome! if you have good hardware.

  • I've turned UAC off, I've been UAC free from the start of vista installation. It really depends what kinda user you are. If you tweak vista or edit vista to your needs, it needs to be turned off or you'll get VERY irritated. If however your just a general user browsing the internet etc then you should keep it on.

  • thanks,

uac can get annoying. like asking me to open windows live messenger is a pain.

  • It's never asked me to run 'Windows Live Messenger' =S

  • Me neither.

  • That made no sense (to me). It could be due to the fact that it's 7:49 AM. lol. It was a reply to my comment so I am guessing you like having the sidebar of, yes?

  • Lol nah

Side = Epic Fail (Turned off for me)

  • how did u get that red cursor

  • the screen recording application has that feature.

  • what screen recorder is this?

  • CamStudio.

  • It says it 0.0

  • I totaly agree the sidebar is horrible. Uses too much RAM and who needs it anyway? (:
