For whatever reason, that Twizzlers ad was imprinted on my memory. I never did like the stuff (they tasted like slightly flavored plastic).
I don't know if they have Dairy Queens on the west coast, but if you don't like disembodied lips, I'd avoid seeing their commercials.
The reason that Grape-Nuts box was so tiny? It's because when you take your first bite and realize it's perhaps the worst cereal you've ever had, you won't have to waste as much.

God, the Twizzlers commercial. I distinctly remember that one. Floating heads, mouths, body parts, or anything unnatural like that creeped me out as a kid and the late 80's and early 90's was extremely guilty of that. I think the video for Groove is in the Heart pretty much sums it up.
I agree completely about the Twizzlers mouths. As soon as I saw that, I flashed back to this crazy show I used to watch all the time called "Puttin on the HIts". The beginning featured all these disembodied lips, and it was one of the most frightening things I have ever seen. That, and Alan Fawcett's permullet.
I just figured people freaked out because of the black "Jesus" guy, the cross burnings, the fact that Madonna kisses the black guy (OMG, right?), and the overall "Catholic" overtone. LOL, if there's more, I'm dying to know! :D
I never watched Small Wonder, but me and my sister would watch "Saved By The Bell" and "Out Of This World" in the afternoons on KTVU beginning probably around 1991.
The guy in the Grape Nuts commercial is David Allen Brooks. He played a Xenoarchaeologist on the very short-lived Babylon 5 spin-off, "Crusade". Fascinating, I know.
And the sound at 6:32 is a wounded Greebo. You should know this, 80sCommercialVault.
1. I know who all of those guys are. The Rougeaus are that one team from Canada, and The Bushwackers are nearly retarded. Akeem is that one big guy, Big John Studd is the other big guy.
2. I have always seen Baron Munchausen on HBO, but had no interest in it. Now, I want to see it.
3. Tim Curry IS awesome.
4. Did Kelloggs ever come out with something that makes Dane Cook disappear? That would be helpful to the environment,
eefbeef09, I don't know if you are from the 80's or not but back then many kids failed to say the name of the cartoon they were watching since the commercials were so exciting and they lost track.
I remember Punky Brewster and Pedia Sure!!! Didn't they recently pull that off of the shelf? And that ClothesTime commercial was pure 80's! Love it!!!
I was basically forced to watch it, since my older sister had reign over the family room TV in those days. Each episode had the kids face some sort of horrible, depressing problem and learning some sort of lesson.
Lessons aside, some of the issues tackled just seem incredibly intense and messed up for a kids show.
The episode with the giant spider, "Perils Of Punky" is on youtube. It's seriously like highly concentrated nightmare fuel. +Recommended
I still think Punky was a hippie, because Punky Power seems like a hidden "flower power" message in there somewhere, oh and Punky was actually a pretty cool show.
Oh and keep them coming cause me and my brother will sit and watch all your videos for hrs kicked back drinkin a few beers talking about things when we were younger. Call us dorks but we have a great time. :)
ty for all these amazing commercials u put out...brings back such amazing childhood memories..when things were simpler and tv was worth watching! U make my day! Again ty :)
I think KTVU at this time did not have FOX programming 7 nights a week. Do you know when exactly when KTVU started to have FOX programming on all nights?
Skyhawk!!! .. damn dude, i feel sorry for those that havent been to Great America .. even thought they shut down the ride cause someone fell out and died
I don't think anyone died on Skyhawk...Willard's Whizzer, Logger's Run, Yankee Clipper, Flight Deck, Drop Zone and Boomerang Bay are the only rides that have had deaths or serious injuries that I am aware of.
Don't know about Skyhawk at Great America, but a ride exactly like it, at Knotts Berry Farm in Buena Park, had a kid fall out of it not a week after I was on it.
Hell Mike, WGN America is airing it every Sunday Night on Outta Sight Retro Night. Also you can watch it online. WGN aired it before Nick at Nite did ya know.
Oh man, I remember watching that on VHS as a kid. Really, REALLY freaked me out. O.O
Still, even if it freaked the pants out of me, that scene was also sensationally awesome seeing it now on YouTube... XD
A TV show was also made based on the original books of The Worst Witch over in the UK too (possibly over any cult status the TV movie had) but trust me, whilst the movie freaks you out, the TV show is as bland as all hell so the movie is much better... XD

Around the mid 90s, that "wounded eagle" NyQuil lady would return with a new set of ads!

Don't get me started on the Dead Wrestlers Society, but I miss the theatrics, back stories, and even the entrance themes of the 80's Superstars.
Luke and Butch vs. Ramon and Jacque! One-Man Gang is now Akeem! Ultimate Warrior is my all-time favorite.
