This being one of my cherished pieces, I'd like to bring your attention to the following video of Corelli's trio sonata that this theme was borrowed from (start at 2:29): Youtube Titel: "Arcangelo Corelli: Trio Sonata Op.3, No.4"
The comment on the extra ornamentation reminds me of my early days as an organ student when I got a bit carried away and put in some extra passing notes and got a stern rejoinder that I must never think I could improve on Bach. Never forgot this. Tempo is very good here as is general articulation.

the ornamentation wouldn't necessarily all have been written down in the score... and some of it could have been lost in the printing anyway, since this appears to be a Bach-Gesellschaft score printed about 150 years after Bach's death... it's appropriate for the style... i think he could have played it a bit faster though.
@aal49 I guess there are two theories. First, he had a different score in which the ornaments are in, or the second one, he did it because of his personal taste. Who knows...
@aal49 : Ornament at will ; wear the hat that falls out of your clothes cupboard ; fold up a newspaper ! Whatever or which way you ornament your head do so. ´aa´ is also a good scrabble word ... no need to use naughty words here ... reminds me of a friend now deceased probably xxxxxx without a xxxxxx of which this was his favorite prelude. A good selection of registration.
I dislike this fugue subject. Is it based upon something?

It's the Rieger-Organ at St. Catherine's Church, Frankfurt (Germany) built in 1990

Where the @#%^! did all the extra ornamentation come from?
Otherwise, nicely played.

@aal49 What's wrong with the extra ornamentation? It is the BAROQUE period, after all.
