I'm not fan on this remix either, Andrea. The pop music just doesn't seem to fit a lullaby. The acapella version is so much more beautiful and does your voice and the song justice... I really enjoy listening to that, thank you so much!
Yes, there is an acapella recording, only the voice on my website (can't put links here but if you search for my name, you will find it, then go to Listen to Andrea, then Acapella.)
tis song was recorded in 1968, among other songs from the region of Baegu and Fateleka in North Malaita by a french anthropologist. I have heard the originals, the copies of these originals if im correct can be located at the Honiara National Museum, Solomon Islands. A copy of this song was taken to Europe in the late 80s or early 90s, and it came out later as a hit number by Deep forest,...
Re: Katasunga, I've never heard the original version, this is beautiful nonetheless. We all bring our individual styles to our art, and this is lovely.
nice try andrea for some one who doesnt speak the language! confused by the words until realised wasn't the original. Huge props for the perfect nuances - iam a native speaker of the language but iam challenged singing this style.
hola a todos ¿cómo estáis? Os invito a ver un video en el youtube. Se llama Monitor de Educación Ambiental y también podéis ver los del mismo usuario. Espero que les guste. Un saludo
Holá, Gracias por the invitation. It was nice to watch your video with all these young people doing really good and healythy activities. I am sure you had a great time!
the singer probably speaks Baegu, may even identify as a Baegu but her father's tribe (UO) is ethnic fataleka. Members of the tribe speaks both/either dialect.
this is not as good as the old lady that sung the original, good try though, this is an old custom song from The Solomon Islands, and old language that is rarely spoken now, from the island of Malaita.

Hi Andrea, I listened to the programme called Nepzene on the Hungarian broadcasting radio called Tilos - it's tilos(.)hu on the internet - and I found your version beautiful. I must say that I prefered the song without instruments, the way you sang it in the radio programme. It was so magical, but this version also good. I wish you good luck, Andrea

katasunga, don't you think that Andrea doesn't know what song she's singing. she sang folksongs when you couldn't even spell the word...
