  • I'm not fan on this remix either, Andrea. The pop music just doesn't seem to fit a lullaby. The acapella version is so much more beautiful and does your voice and the song justice... I really enjoy listening to that, thank you so much!

  • Beautiful!!

  • I absolutely love the vocals, but is there a version without the annoying remix going on around it?

  • @TimrousBeasty

Hi, I am glad you like it :-)

Yes, there is an acapella recording, only the voice on my website (can't put links here but if you search for my name, you will find it, then go to Listen to Andrea, then Acapella.)

    Enjoy :-)

  • wow...thank u indeed for a wonderful remix...makes our native Baegu lullaby fly high forever...beautiful vocal too...

  • Yes ! A great voice ! Listen to her a capella ...

But this is a great POP Mix, too !

    vy 73 from Germany !

  • Very good.

  • beautiful seens i would love acomment from you

  • Hello Andrea, thank you for performing this song, it is very beautiful. Greets from Suni

  • tis song was recorded in 1968, among other songs from the region of Baegu and Fateleka in North Malaita by a french anthropologist. I have heard the originals, the copies of these originals if im correct can be located at the Honiara National Museum, Solomon Islands. A copy of this song was taken to Europe in the late 80s or early 90s, and it came out later as a hit number by Deep forest,...

  • Thanks for your input! The credits are also mentioned in the info of this video.

  • I love this song!

haha and that arpeggiator is the one from novation v-station - i love that vsti

  • I love this

  • Nagyon szép. :-)

  • Re: Katasunga, I've never heard the original version, this is beautiful nonetheless. We all bring our individual styles to our art, and this is lovely.

  • thanks for the exposure of this rare language Andrea you have done the unexpected

  • adila ae, ma sapos iu lisin gut, hem no ifem talem oketa word ia stret. eg listen 'tabe ta gwane initoa, ti ai ro(ro)ia.'

  • nice try andrea for some one who doesnt speak the language! confused by the words until realised wasn't the original. Huge props for the perfect nuances - iam a native speaker of the language but iam challenged singing this style.

  • Thank you Otimide, I am glad to hear this from a native speaker!

  • your welcome

And I also hope you liked this video of mine :-)

  • Thats great

its my Fathers language from Malaita

Solomon island and I have heard the origin voice from the (geni orú)

  • Hello, thanks for your comment! I am glad that you found my version of this old song.

  • Hello AndreaGereak,,,what language is this? please tell me iam interested to know

  • Hi, as far as I know it's Baegu - this is what I found in my researches.

  • the singer probably speaks Baegu, may even identify as a Baegu but her father's tribe (UO) is ethnic fataleka. Members of the tribe speaks both/either dialect.

  • Thank you for the info, it's valuable to know these details.

  • this is not as good as the old lady that sung the original, good try though, this is an old custom song from The Solomon Islands, and old language that is rarely spoken now, from the island of Malaita.

  • katasunga, don't you think that Andrea doesn't know what song she's singing. she sang folksongs when you couldn't even spell the word...

  • A teremtes 7. napjan betoppant egy par elkesett egyen, a Joisten vakarta is a fejet, hogy vajon mi legyen veluk, hisz mar kiosztotta az osszes tehetseget. Hirtelen egy zsenialis otlete tamadt: "Ti lesztek a kritikusok!". Nagyszeru interpretacio, nagyon tetszik, koszi szepen!

  • :-)))) Köszönöm!

  • Thanks for watching! The intention was not to copy the original... :-)

  • Hi Andrea, I listened to the programme called Nepzene on the Hungarian broadcasting radio called Tilos - it's tilos(.)hu on the internet - and I found your version beautiful. I must say that I prefered the song without instruments, the way you sang it in the radio programme. It was so magical, but this version also good. I wish you good luck, Andrea

  • Köszönöm princesszin :-)

I will make an a cappella version also available soon.

  • hmmmm......doesnt sound like the original at all... The magic is missing...
