Kagame has built a mono ethnic military, and political elite which is the dynamic which has caused the resentment in the country since the colonial era. Kagame has been active in the destabilisation of the Congo and looting its resources.Rwanda is a major exporter of gold,diamonds and coltan, minerals that don't exist in Rwanda.It is all stolen from the Congo whose civilians are being terrorized by Kagame's agents as well as those of Uganda. Building Rwanda is a noble task but not thru crime.

Paul Kagame is responsible for shooting down the airplane and killing the then president of Rwanda, which was the spark that ignited the genocidal reprisals of 1994. The tutsi rebel forces that he led managed to take control the country,precipitating an exodus of hutus fleeing into neighboring Congo.Among these hutu refugees were hidden some of the genocidal criminals. Kagame's forces pursued them and exacted revenge, killing criminals and innocent civilians alike

These 83M £ are what enables Kigali/Kagame to roll tanks into the Congo, conduct air strikes on refugee camps and shell every native village in the Kivus with mortars and RPG's;

this 'budget support' (i.e. money directly into the pockets of dictators) never served the poor guy.

I believe everyone should be entitled to an opinion but before elevating these opinions, it is the duty of the medium (in this case BBC) to verify the claims.

What I find though are people inciting the current regime and those that insult the intelligence of Rwandans with unsubstantiated claims of mistreatment so as to aid their refugee status applications and have in effect taken the British citizens and tax payers for a ride, wasting both airtime on radio & tv stations. I don't speak for any gov't or group of people neither is their any gov't that is innocent be it the one financing these mediums or the accused. I believe everyone should be entitle

Most Genuine Rwandan refugees in the UK are quiet leading a new life away from the trauma of the genocide, others are quiet because they are wanted for genocide crimes and thus are in hiding. As for the persecution of refugees I'm yet to find one with solid evidence of persecution. @rwandansinuk : refugees who are quiet does not mean that they are genuine. Some are genuine and very vocal about their country human right and oppression issues. Not every one have the courage to do that, but in all oppressed societies they are always people who risk their lives and speak up for others

@RY4C Killing refugees has been Kagame regime norm since october 1995, when they attacked refugee camps in Zaire and destroyed them. After that refugees have been killed in Zambia, Belgium, Malawi, Cameroon and Kenya,..

@RY4C If Hutu genocidaires want to protect people, they should not conduct cross-border attacks into Rwanda and then go back to hide among the refugees. just like Palestians attacking Israrelis then run to hide among civilians. As of now, there's no attack, and there's no counterattack.

Why would the BBC Newsnight bow so low to air such a poorly researched subject? 1. Wrong photo of " Rudasingwa", 2. Wrong location the dissident can't be calling in from Kigali, as u claim. That would in itself be a contradiction of your claims. 3. It's evident the reporter has little knowledge of rwanda by the mere fact she can't tell who is standing next to Cameron. Personally I think the £83m should be used to pay UK students fees if receiving it means interfering with our foreign policy. I
