It's basically the same game with a new storyline (if you can call it that), more characters, and some additional gameplay options from previous Dynasty and Samurai Warriors games like Versus Mode, Survival Mode, blah blah blah. There's also an additional weapons ability fusion thing now. Oh, plus you can play the Orochi side.

And the game is a sequel.
