Yeah. The Zookeepers responsible for this animal are cruel. They have an animal that naturally lives in large family groups, living alone. I am always amazed at the cruelty of humans. I think they should buy him a female companion, and if they can't afford it, they should send Malik to a zoo that better fits his needs. (Also, I don't think he was attacking, his claws were retracted, if they weren't, there would have been large scratch marks on the glass.)

I dont think the poor lion was trying to attack the little girl. I dont know, I just think his gesture isnt an angry violent one. Iions tend to live in a pride.

However a few lions do take to being alone.

Its true that he could be very lonely but maybe he isnt. If he is too aggresive it may be dangerous to put him in with other lions.

And they said he does have a bad attitude.

Even so the lion was being feral.

Its mouth is open and its standing up. Its glaring at her directly in the eye.

And when she doesnt back down its snarls then attacks.

In addition, his very intense focus on her prior to the 'attack' was indicative of his intentions --> I think I would have removed my child at THAT point but all is well since it is caged appropriately.

Wild animal protecting his food, instinctive behavior. I felt badly watching the lion be taunted behind the glass by the children. I wondered why the mother would still film instead of her own instinctive behavior kicking in & pulling her daughter away from the glass? I don't know if I would have had the thought process that she was 'safe' behind the protective glass...I'd yank her away & drop my camera. I'm sure the zoo is doing good work, but I hate to see animals caged or behind glass. :(
