@TheBachenstein Ah you should. I agree, I love fugue and this is truly a superb one, but I don't think it feels "complete" without the prelude. And the prelude in itself is extremely beautiful too, at least I think so! :D

The problem I usually have with these organ pieces is that the faster sections become inaudible, it's so much clearer on a grand piano! They should build a grand-piano-organ, like two instruments in one, so you can have the clarity of the piano and the majesty of the big organ pipes. Or does such an instrument already exist?
As an organ instrument restorer, I am humbled by what this refined, dignified, disciplined piano vituoso has done to denude an otherwise irrefutable organ masterpiece. You have left me stunned and speechless. Bravo!
This is genius. He at a begining a bass pres one strong, then he let it go and he come back on at just softer so the listener do not notice that he let go a in the first place.

I can play the whole fugue on this. Havent really decided if I want to do the prelude because the fugue is the best part. XD

As you say; but alas, Liszt's intent and actual performance is lost to history . . .
We can only inculcate this latest, greatest master's internalization; shalln't we?

Incredible performance, he really knows how to sound the piano like a church organ. I love every note of it, especially the low A at 0:32.

I love the D# at 1:17 but it's not printed on my edition, I wonder if he added it himself. Either way, it sounds nicer
