I love Shirley Temple, my mother used to wait with the kids with dimes in their hands at the theater, made sure we didn't miss out on her. Her films were often on tv in the 60s anyway. I later found her more grown up films and I really enjoy them. Just watched "Since you Went Away," with my wife today. I know she's out there, Woodside or near. I used to live around there. But I hope she knows and feels the love all of us have for her. Thanks, Shirley.
@searchlight18 The song is from Ireland. The tune had different lyrics through the years. Thomas Moore wrote these in early 1800s. I GOOGLEd the song, since it's one of my favorites. (Probably first heard it in this movie) There are more lyrics we don't usually hear. I love this movie. I hope her health is OK. She has brought so much happiness to countless people.
@searchlight18 It's an Irish song from about 1900 called "Believe me, if all those endearing young charms." The tune has haunted me a long time, so my wife and I looked it up. There are some wonderful youtube versions to find. Very beautiful. Thank you for your post.

reclusive life since the death of her husband.
