  • Just a Common pleco.

  • what kind of pleco is that?

  • didnt read through the other comments but is that a massive pleco you have in there? im lovin whatever that thing is

  • Malawis are always kept in large groups to spread the aggression and make it hard for individuals to keep territories.

  • Why does everyone OVERSTOCK THEIR TANK?????!!!

  • @Headhighswell to lower aggresion and to distribute it.

  • @Headhighswell, the rule of thumb is 1 inch of "TROPICAL" fish for every 2.25 litres. Plus if your filter is bigger and is a 4 stage for instance instead of a three stage, and if you add alot more aeration, you can then stock your tank a little more. But i personally would always like to go by the rule of thumb, and play it completely safe. On top of this, the aquarium looks like it's about 150 litres or may be even more. But you have to keep in mind about how big the fish gets as well.

  • @Headhighswell because when you're keeping cichlids having more in the tank is always better. It lowers aggression in most cases and keeps the tank functioning happily without too many fish dying off.

  • you need a big tank for them i have a 6x2x2

  • You prob figured it out by now but rubbiing with africans is usually a ph issue.

  • Bloody foreigners :D

  • Cant wait until my Venustus get their blue faces, they are beautiful fish

  • vERY NICE INDEED SIR.

  • Have you tested your water.

Could be high Nitrates or external Parasites.

  • Wont is wrong with my Cichlids? They are like rubbing on stuff they rub on the sand and the rocks.... Someone please help and answer me ASAP!

  • @iJacksFishTanks If you use coral sand then that is the cause, very small bits of sand irritate there gills and make them flick, you can mix it with a coarser gravel to stop it. If you dont have coral sand then it could be ich or gill flukes. Can settle in time if you leave your coral gravel in.

  • frontosa is not from Malawi

  • @latvija855

That is why the video is called " Malawi with a few foreigners". Few Foreigners being the give away.

  • That is Coral Sand..

  • hey what kind of gravel do you use?

  • hey man sweet tank!! you should check mine out too!!

  • The tank has been dismantled over three years now.

  • @nerdkiller75

    can I ask why?

  • @chinolal

I set it up as Tropheus Lupota tank and that venture ended up a disaster.

I moved the Tropheus to a bigger tank and a faulty heater wiped them out..

  • can you make a list of what you have in your tank please :)

  • 2 x Frontosa.

1 x Nimbochromis Venustus. Copadichromis Borleyi Protemilus Taeneolatus Alonucarac Jacobfreibergi Alonucara Beanschi

    Labidochromis Coruleus.

I cant rememeber them all plus their were a few species of Synodontis catfish and or course the common plece.

  • @nerdkiller75

so how are your frontosa and venustus doing? Are they ever fighting with each other? Because i plan to put a venustus into my tank that houses 2 frontosas and mbuna and peacocks. I would like to know if your venustus if aggressive.

  • hey, whats the blue and red fish called?

  • Great setup and inhabitants.

  • 125 is too small.

  • is this freshwater?

  • how big is ur tank give me dimenstions? n ba da way nice cichlidz

    B.regardz

    (M)F.Z

  • It was 4 x 1 x 2 I think. The middle was bow fronted and two foot at its widest.

    Basically it was 260l.

Filtration was by a juwel internal filter a

Fluval external and a Fluval 4+ internal.

  • @nerdkiller75 hmm cool lots of effrots

  • Think the tank is tooo small for these kind of fishes, take Mbuna´s, they must have 300 litre

max. 3 kinds with 4 or 5 fishes with length up to 11 cm....

    Greetings from Germany

  • i am thinking of setting up a cichlid tank, is 125 litre o.k or is it too small, please reply thanks

    really nice tank

  • All i can say is... IM JEALOUS!!! ;D

  • Nice Hap!

  • Maybe you should read about african cichlids you dumb shits this guy is doing perfectly right.

  • Are African Cichlids regarded as the most exotic fish you can keep?

  • over croweded tank, great looking set up though and beautiful plecto and i love the sand as wella s the rocks

  • its not overcrowded you big fuck tard. stop talkin shit and just appreciate the life that god gave you without being a fucken half wit retard

  • So, I guess you're british, then?

    lol

  • nope

  • If you knew anything about keeping a Malawi cichlid aquarium (or Lake Malawi). You would know thats how you keep Malawi tanks. Thats exactly the way it is in the wild. Stop insulting people and read a book.

  • Okay....I need to add a few notes...

    1) Lake Malawi is NOT overcrowded in the wild. I can guarantee you have not done enough research on the lake yet.

    2) Only mbuna (the small herbivorous aggressive ones) should be overcrowded, and this is to reduce aggression. Not open-water predator cichlids such as Aulonocara, Protomelas, Sciaenochromis, Tyrannochromis, etc.

  • yes master

  • Great frontosa and plecostomus!! But this tank is too small for him :(

  • this tank too small?? are you out of ur mind? keep on eating your mcdonalds getting fatter and fatter and just shut the bloody hell up you imbersile

  • best tank suuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuppppppppppppppeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeerrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • you are just a retarded retard!!!!!

  • you better have a bigger tank set in mind, those frontosa's will get huge.

  • How many Malawi cichlids can be fit in a 75 gallon tank?

  • wonder if a green terror its compatible with all those fish?

beacuse i dont know very much about fish compatibility.

  • you shouldnt.these guys are africans, green terror is a south american. controversal topic but in most cases south americans should never be mixed with africans. and thats for a variety of reasons. ill leave it at that lol

  • I just decided to go for a change. I changed to Tropheus but things did not work out in the end. After moving the Tropheus to a bigger tank a faulty heater wiped out both colonys.

  • Green Terrors require different water parameters. They come from soft acid water in the Amazon while Malawis cichlids require hard

    alkaline water.

They would only rip each other to shreds anyway.

  • very nice tank.wot type of lighting u got in there and how do you keep your rocks soo clean?

  • How big is the tank?

  • Beautiful blue cichlids!!!

  • All the fish are now gone.

  • why those fish are super nice

  • Why?

  • hey nice setup i've just got a few questions... how big is your tank? how many fish all up? and do you think that your frontosa's will outgrow its tankmates and possibly attack them?

  • Nice Venustus! and Pleco hes huge and not shy at all

  • Very nice set up
