  • looks more of a rave than anything

  • more power to these students...these universities are fucking pure profit BUSINESSES..there is no reason people should have to start their adult lives in such heavy debt...play fair...honestly they are milking the hell out of the young adult student class...shamelessly..they exist to educate the people not to rip them off...

  • children's are future of the nation and students should stop going colleges until they accepts ur demands this is the only way

  • BURN LONDON TO THE GROUND

  • @tsoulakaltsoula Half these people aren't even Londoners. That was just the location of the protest.

  • It might be worth reminding some students that the whole world, bar perhaps China and a few others, are in huge deficit - Greece, Portugal and Ireland to name but a few. The fact is that this country (England) has NOT got any money - most of it is BORROWED to pay for things like services. Now, if you can't afford to pay back any money the lenders will stop lending and cuts will inevitably follow. The country just cannot sustain approx 45% of people in higher education!

  • @roby1211 right, so NO education for any1, die die die! man u should be in office your just full of solutions

  • @roby1211 I'm a student, first year, and I agree. You can't blame the current government for the mess we're in. They have to solve it! This is one of the best ways to do it. Besides which, things aren't exactly unaffordable as a student. I guess the loan will be paid back but a far better job in the future than I would have originally had - in theory.

  • @twiggo66

Wow and you must be a wonderful human being. Go and jump off a cliff. Peace.

  • This is about more than just cuts - why would anarchists be demanding a government funding for education? Its a unifying cause for all the people pissed off with the general lack of democracy and justice in and increasingly totalitarian state.

  • @FreemanStephen Well said!

If you get a chance, check out my blog placehacking dot co dot uk for more on surveillance, restriction of spatial freedom and options for transgression and subversion.

  • @FreemanStephen haha if people dont fight it will end up like in v for vendetta

  • Glad to see Students in England know how to organize and protest. Lazy ass American kids don't have a clue, you could increase our tuition 10 fold over night and noone would blink an eye, just sign off on that bigger loan.

  • wat an embarsment some of these students are, as a student myself in my 4th and final year of studying a psychology degree i think the actions are cringy! why does everyone hate on the police? its not their fault they are doing their job and unfortunatly due to human rights they arent allowed to be violent back - why shud this yobs be allowed to smash up London? Who pays their fees outrght anyway, majority get loans and pay back when they are earning !

  • @mandylou89

Traitor. (incidentally, I am a masters student so you can't bring out all the stereotypical, snobby insult replies). We hate the police because they are the instruments of an immoral, outdated economic system and the arm of the fascist British state. That enough for you?

Stop believing Tory propaganda. Peace out.

  • who were the people on the top of the building and what were they throwing down at the end of the video?

  • @ljhyun89s They were the first protesters into the building. I think it that point they were throwing paper down.

  • we need more of this people power, the time for revolution is now

  • @davethewebbuilder

Don't you worry, the revolution is closer than ever before. Get involved (if you aren't already)

  • anyone know what that song is called at 2.30

  • @smithyj10 I think it's Caspa or Andy C.

  • The police use violance, the government send the troops to kill people in Iraq and Afganistan, then when there is little damage in London the government order an inquiry, very strange system in the UK,,,,time for revolution is now!

  • @davethewebbuilder anarchist, communist or just angry..?

  • NOW WE GOING TO STICK IT TO THE GOVERNMENT AND DO THE BIGGEST PROTEST THE UK HAVE EVER SEEN ON THE NEW BANK HOLIDAY on THE 29 APRIL 2011 ...

  • @PeoplesProtests What a bunch of jobless twats

  • @wakeywakeyuk1

    Go shoot yourself.

  • Lets see what after and the fires broken windows damage to shops and most of all the biggest crazy thing attack the future king of englands car and all for what ? just another lame excuse to cause £1000,s of damage do you think it will change anything answer is no today london is back to normal now you little cry babys have gone home tis country owes you nothing and never will university is a privlidge not a given right!

  • @hansupgwai

Thankfully there are about 10 police to every 500 protesters, so the fight for the basic human right of free education will go on and be victorious. Tough luck!

  • @ourhandsaretied lol - how did the fight for free education end up? XD

  • @gormacbudes Your analogy of me could not possibly be any farther off target.

  • Just a question- will this law only ALLOW universities to have fees of 9,000 pounds or does it mean that all of them will HAVE to demand that sum?

  • @SaLTWATERstarship It means the university can charge up to that much - hopefully some will choose not to. Of course, that still means the most wealthy will be able to pay for the best educations where others will go deeper into debt to 'climb the ladder'.

  • @goblinmerchant Oh thank god there's still an alternative- I think many might do it but at least there's hope some will opt out. Thanks for answering.

  • @gormacbudes The book is garbage. Hope you go to a riot and eat lead

  • These are not student protesters. These are violent criminals, communists and chaos seekers. They have been brain washed by their teachers and idols into believing in a distorted, unjust cause.

  • get up stand up, stand up for your wrights!! REVOLUTION.

  • Down With Students!

  • The government is weak, peoples opinions are high, how can so few control so many, the people have the upperhand, maybe now is the time to step up the campain, great work on the princes car,,up the revolution

  • I was there! :D

  • Students Riot in London. Bunch of cowards that they are. The majority of the students causing damage had their faces covered - fucking cowards. Obviously they didn't want Mummy and Daddy to see them. Mind you I'm quite surprised they had the intelligence to cover up their faces because most of them are fucking thick as shit anyway. And as for that "35 year old mature student" - I'd do time for her - the lazy bitch.

  • Another protest on the 10.12.10 see facebook for more details event name: PROTEST

  • YESS. did that in brighton today.

seriously protests should happen more often, students dont see how much the government is bringing them down.

  • Just awesome :)

  • @BurntOakTree You're 44, you're probably gonna be dead in 25 years time. Stop being such a curmudgeon and intolerable old dick. Likening the students to hooligans... nice comparison, that. The fella who killed Ian Tomlinson, he was a good bobby, was he? The police abuse their authority knowing the law will protect them. They're human after all and their power gets to them sometimes.

  • I don't have any friends in the police but unlike you I don't think it is right to attack the police and fight them? As for the miners strike how old are you? I am 44 and remember it well, there was violence on both sides, some miners used excessive violence it didn't all come from the police. And previous police violence does not justify your violence against them. You have no right to smash property and fight the police just cos you are pissed off about higher fees.

  • @BurntOakTree there are a basic rules among anarchists- they must strike the first blow, defend your people, don't kill them.

if I saw anyone, copper or not, beating one of my friends (or a guy with severe cerebral palsy for that matter) into a corner then I would quite happily kick the shit out of them.

I'm fighting to defend the rights of my little brother, I never plan to go to uni but I'm not going to let him get hurt by the police when I can take his place.

  • @BRoKeN7LoGiK What the hell has that got to do with my comment that this uprising is going to lead to a revolution? Are you now saying that anarchist do not want a revolution but will fight back if attacked first?

  • @gormacbudes Ironically, I just referenced this on my blog. Google "Place Hacking, Bradley L. Garrett". And bunker down.

  • All you old people shut the fuck up just because you had shit lives doesnt mean that we're gonna follow in your foot steps we have as much right to education as all you fat greedy basterds!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! XD

  • woop woop wish id have gone and joined in!!!!

  • why are they attacking this particular building and where are the police????

  • @MrEventhorizon The building is the conservative party headquarters - the party who initiated the cuts. The police are there, but they say they "did not anticipate the level of violence the cuts would cause." Most of the police I talked to were pretty sympathetic. I am sure they too have children going to university so these cuts will cost them as well.

  • Good heavens! Rioting students! Whatever next. I want to employ them in my company as customer relations experts.

    Kind regards

    Osama c/o NUS

  • A bloody good hiding??? What would you do? Pull there trousers down and slap their bottoms. If you tried getting involved you would of got beat down

  • @trimvan Watch the film Harry Brown, it is about a guy who decided he was fed up of gang violence in London and took on the gangs himself. You rioting students are no better than London's violent gangs who fight each other over territory or drug markets. By the way if I got involved and fought you guys I would have the full support of the riot police behind me! You scum injured 41 police officers, don't you know assualting a police officer carries a minimum six months jail sentence?

  • Fucking morons! If they can't afford tuition fees then leave university and get a job, simple. Also what makes them think they have got the right to smash up private property? I hope as many or them as possible who rioted that day get caught by the police and sentenced to many years in jail! Fuck you student rioters. If I was there I would have given some of you lot a bloody good hiding! You are scum total scum!

  • @BurntOakTree What makes you feel that only the wealthy deserve education? And for the record, it was not private property that was attacked - the private property next to this government building was left intentionally untouched. The headquarters of the party who initiated cuts that will drive tens of thousands of students out of university was attacked and I think it was a rather proportional response. They costs us money, we cost them money.

  • @goblinmerchant Those bloody thug students injured 40 police and caused tens of thousands of damage that day so they should all go to jail for riot! I don't give a toss if they can't afford to go to university that is their tough shit.

  • @goblinmerchant They attacked private property! Some one owns that office block. They also attacked and injured over 40 police officers. What gives them the right to behave like violent criminals? If this violence was being done by football hooligans the public would be calling for them to be jailed for a very long time, so why should middle class students be treated any differently? I don't believe in one law for the rich and one for the poor. If anyone breaks the law they should get punished!

  • @BurntOakTree As I pointed out in another comment, the office block is the conservative party headquarters - the party who initiated the cuts. Private property next door was untouched.

Also, I don't know where you are getting your information form but The Guardian reports that only 14 people were injured including 2 police. Secondly, I am pretty sure that when riot police sign up for the job they are pretty sure they are going to get injured at some point ;)

  • @BurntOakTree Your final point is completely ridiculous. People committing random acts of violence in support of a sports team can hardly be equated to people protesting over their jobs and educations being threatened and lost.

  • Comment removed

  • @goblinmerchant Well said; the student populous needed some way of having their often belittled voices heard. @BurntOakTree This argument has nothing to do with class, its about the youth of today being given the best deal possible. Do you think that tomorrow's Britain will be better off with more or less university-educated citizens? Why should anyone, regardless of their financial situation, be deprived of the chance to better themselves? Try focusing on the bigger picture, moron.

  • @BurntOakTree Your a fucking idiot, plain and simple; they have a right to be angry, why should we, as a british people, suffer because our money greedy capitalist government dragged us into a war that has nothing to do with us, costing us billions of pounds that we have to foot the bill for.

  • Just imagine if students were sober more often!?!?

  • @powerrevolutionary I have to say, I saw very few people drinking at the event which, honestly, I found rather surprising.

  • @goblinmerchant I wasn't able to make the demo but that was my point - from their actions they seemed sober. If they were sober more often, this country would probs be a lot different (i.e., better) because they wouldn't let the gov't get away with the type of bullshit that the gov't does get away with! Power to the students, power to the people!

  • welcome to democracy ;)

  • I like to see that London has abit of Samba about them
