I have a redfooted tortoise and the humidity is just over 50% but i have read that it need to be between the 70% and 80% mark is that ok as i cant seem to get it any higher with just spraying it so do i need a humidifiying machine? Thanks.
You shouldn't hold tortoises like that. I don't see any red scales on the legs, they must be really dirty RED FOOT tortoises. Just to let you know, males are smaller than females.
Don't make a video if you don't know what you are doing.
@lukeskywalkerrules sorry and excuse me but "ran" away? what were you doing to make him disappear my sulcata that my grandpa has that is 18 years takes a good 6 minutes just to walk 3 feet. but im sorry you lost your tortoise :(
@superclaw900 I'd just make a pen outside, and have a suitable indoor place for lousy weather. But, I live in Florida, so it's hot and humid; exactly what they like. They love to roam, so give them plenty of room.
These creatures are amazing, beautiful, and graceful. What else could be said about the majestic red footed tortoise. All I have to say is that a world without red footed tortoises is not a place I want to live. Yeah Red Foots GET IT INNNN!!!!
if u think shes not doing a good job then make a better video!! shes probaly just moving them like that so we can SEE THEM shes obviosley showing THE DETAILS ON THEIR SHELL AND SKIN
Poor guys she is holding them wrong and they are dehydrated. I bet she doesn't know anything about red footed tortoises . Gosh I hope she know that when u set down a tortoise it moves away from u. I hate her now
you don't need to be smart to survive, you just need to be well suited for the task. most animals do not rely on intelligence to survive but instead on their instinct. Turtles are easily adapted to change, they have a very good defensive mechanism and eat whatever there is to eat. However, that doesn't make them smart. if you leave an agitated turtle or tortoise on a table, it will most likely jump from it without thinking twice...
@HASHlRAMA Well I know you would if a 80ft woman tooked you out of a cage and a strange device is infront of you. It's like an instint for them to escape
kale is the best salad, i also give mine tomatoes which they seem to love. they also love hibiscus flowers , which mine eat in the summer. also try untreated dandelions and some cut up carrrots
I just got a baby redfoot not to long ago and iv noticed its been fliping itself over a few times, im just curious for if someday i wouldnt be here and it were to happen what the risks are, iv tryed to make it less possible for her to flip over but sometimes she still finds ways, any ideas?
You forgot the fact that they also eat carrion. 10% of their diet is protein. They are known to reach over 18" and live up to 75 years. Anyway, great presentation.
Wow 50 years isn't long I thought all tortoises lived over 70. Why does the male have red streaks on his face has he scratched himself. Egg temperature wise, usually that's the same with all species isn't it?
You could say the females are real hot stuff

These tortoises look heavy, vigorous, and healthy... and nothing about the way she is handling them is rough or harmful. Stop people.
Noobs rip apart every reptile video because they want to seem like an "expert" and always come off sounding dumb to anyone with real experience.
Post a better video if you're so smart.
