For far too long priests and preachers have completely ignored the vicious criminal acts that the Bible promotes. The so called “God” of the Bible makes Osama Bin Laden look like a Boy Scout. This God, according to the Bible, is directly responsible for many mass-murders, rapes, pillage, plunder, slavery, child abuse and killing, not to mention the killing of unborn children

These are some the "gifts" religion spawns into humanity,? along with hell for the choice of a wrong belief system

Of course scientists who created atom bombs come from God. They're just choosing to use their free will and power for evil.

Not everything that God has created uses their free will for good. But that doesn't mean God doesn't exist, or that those things were created by some other "Creator".

Those of us who are choosing to use our free will for goodness - we need to work to bring good, and redirect their efforts, so that good comes about, which is God's intention in creating us.

God created polio, science cured it. God created small-pox, science cured it. God created leprosy, science cured it. God created 2 million illnesses,virusses, parasites, science found cures for many. God created infertility, science created in-vitro, and an estimated 15 million lives. God`s lifespan was 45 years, science doubled it. 100.000 innocent children died a horrible death, beneath the rubble of their houses in Haiti. The allmighty didn``t lift a finger to help. Glory to god !!!

@lizazoon Where did the scientists come from? Who guided their minds to develop the cures? Life is not in one lifetime: we live many times. This is a place to learn and grow. Tragedies are horrible, horrible crimes are unthinkable, and yet they are learning experiences. I've been through some bad stuff too, I'm not speaking from the top of the mountains, here, we grow from what doesn't kill us. And if we die, we live on, and grow some more. love and blessing.

If a god were involved, then tell me why it takes decades to find acure. Is he  lurking behind the curtain, enjoying human frustration and pain ??

@lizazoon There's a right time for everything. The bad things we go through are not for punishment or to make us feel horrible. They're to teach us. When finally we discover cures, it's b/c we are ready, as a species, to have it, so it's shown to us.

There are many examples of a deity in science - people who miraculously found, discovered or were led to, synchronistically, the answers they were looking for. I'll check the net for examples now and get back to you.

The evidence, if you really want to find it, is in your heart. If you really want to know if God is, live for a certain time, maybe a year, as if you believe in God, pray and ask daily for God's guidance, give thanks for everything in your life, "as if" it comes from God, and you will find your answer.

Only experience will show you what the Source of All is like. Ha! Excellent question. No. Although I was a devout believer when they were young I always respected their right to examine and question and form their own conclusions. I did present the case for God as clearly and positively as I could, and they all (six) were believers until they were teens. Their feedback and path were probably an important factor in my own awakening to reason and freedom. "a little child shall lead them", eh?

@ricksparks A: I grew up in the church and we always said a blessing before meals and prayers and meditation before bed, so I was so young I can't remember. B: I had spiritual experiences as a child: Jesus talking to me, angels singing to me. I felt God present with me, and still do, even more so now. I never asked for proof because I had the proof.

I have no problem with this question, but I hope you take my answer just as seriously as you take answers of people who no longer believe.

@ricksparks If we really want to know what's real, we have to look at all possibilities. The guy hearing voices telling him to kill a kid, is having a real experience - but quite different from mine. Just like good and bad poeple, there are bad beings out there who would influence a person to do wrong, and then there are good beings. People who are aware of this part of reality have to choose who we want to "hang out with." There are more things in heaven and earth than are dreamt of...
