I got this freeze effect on a game boy advanced with kirby blockball for the game boy by banging it against the bed or pulling the cartrage out. Irt held a low A note.
i know about over/under-clocking GB's, but i wanted to keep to my style of straight-bending: bending only by re-routing the flow of electricity thru the circuit without replacing any stock components (like a timer/clock). this allows me to have the keyboard/toy function as was intended by the manufacturer so i can demonstrate the bends more easily (or, in this case, go back and beat DK Land 2 again...)
thanks for the mention in the blog, keep up the good work.
Well, in the case of the GB I think you should rethink that principle. ;)
Did you click the derWarst link? There are a couple of others too. Video ID's: BE1mYNpvyH0 ypmBP_Pt1Bg LFp2c0ELylQ
An intricate clock hack would allow you to adjust the speed, as well as perhaps going a step further and feeding audio back to the frequency control to allow some sort of self-FM. That'd allow some rad effects with relatively unchanged functionality.

No glitches it seems :(
I tried bending the cartridge points on mine, but nothing interesting ever happened.

i was kinda disappointed. probed the whole board 2 or 3 times over and this is all i found.
i'm going to try to bend a cartridge, just as soon as i find the right tool to open one... they have weird star shaped bolts holding them together.

I just ripped one of my old ones open.
It just crashed a lot, though I had one glitch where the level went all crazy, but that only happened once.
