The Ninth Doctor IS the Oncoming Storm. I cannot picture any of the other Doctors fitting that nickname... I see HIS face. Also, thanks for the 10,000 views! I would have never imagined!
@Eldarai I don't follow doctor who like a religion or anything and I don't recall this episode or subsequent Dalek episodes at their fullest. However, one wouldn't need many to survive. One would need only one to survive (and hopefully, the right one- you know the purest of the pure). If one survives, they can create more Daleks. If so, then the array of extra cut and paste stickered Daleks that litter the screen are not survivors but brand spanking new Daleks. Daleks = Roaches
@Eldarai I keep thinking that. I really wish the Daleks would be annihilated once and for all. Just because they're a classic enemy doesn't mean they have to exist forever.
@AceofGallifrey Oh God, YES. Three was so awesome. Makes me angry that most Classic Who fans completely ignore him in favor of Four (who I also love, but come on, don't ignore Three).
@ItsSomeDeadGuy Three is pretty much my favorite Doctor of all time. He's so under-appreciated, really! I understand why Four is so beloved (much like I understand why Ten is beloved), but come on! Three and Nine were both awesome Doctors in their own rights, in many ways even better than their more popular successors!
@AceofGallifrey Pertwee? Yes. He ROCKS! I liked 9 better than 10. For me, my favorite is a toss up between Pertwee, Baker, and Eccleston. Smith is doing a respectable job. I didn't like him at first. Tennant, despite the episodes that made me cringe b/c of story, was passable for me. My world didn't crumble when he was gone. The one I couldn't stand was the one who dressed up like the friggin' Riddler. It was mostly the writing. The delivery made bad script worse.
@zukezukone Three is just my all-time favorite, but I wouldn't knock Seven (I'm assuming that's who you meant by the Riddler comment). He wasn't my favorite or anything, but there's something appealing about his era nonetheless. Plus, he had the companion who could arguably be put forth as the best companion of all time (though that's a debate that would NEVER END). At least, certainly one of the most popular (until Rose Tyler came along and brainwashed a bunch of tweens, anyway).
@AceofGallifrey Yerp. That'd be the one. I only saw him in two episodes and I wasn't too keen on him and his companion Ace(?). If he had been my first experience with the series, I would have moved on from Doctor Who, content that I had given it a try. Rose Tyler was just there for me. I did like Jane Smith, Romana, Cpn' Jack, Donna, Mike, K-9, River. Martha too, but she suffered from being poorly written to be in love with The Doctor. I do NOT like Amy Pond.
@zukezukone Oh man, Ace is fabulous (like you couldn't tell I love the girl from my username). She's best known for going Terminator on a posse of Daleks with a baseball bat... and WINNING (not to mention the whole facing-down-a-platoon-of-Cybermen-with-a-slingshot-and-winning thing, which is nearly as awesome). She's like Eowyn and Marty McFly all rolled into one.
She, Romana, Donna, Liz, Martha, RORY WILLIAMS WHO IS EPIC, Sarah Jane and the Brig are pretty much my tops.
@AceofGallifrey I was looking at your name as I was typing and thinking, "Oh, I really really hope I am not offending AceofGallifrey... Hmmm. Let me rephrase what I just wrote." To be fair, I only saw 2 episodes (I think the BB bat one included). From that, I could tell I wouldn't like 7. Smith needed time, but I always felt he had potential.
Rory's OK - the reason why I dislike the character Amy. The brig, I haven't seen him in actual travel with the doctor.
Out of the three doctors I've seen, 9, 10,11... I love them all. Equally.
they always bring something different to the table, keeping the character the same, but making things so much more interesting with the way they portray the different personalities he has after each regeneration!
Basically, this could be the Doctor at his very best; "so if anyone should shut up, it's YOU!!". The daleks were very close to showing fear or even a repelled motion, nothing most daleks would ever have done before. Except in the case of River Song vs The Dalek when the pandorica dd something weird.
@ginnoveffect I often hear people debate about whether the Daleks are actually scary. Whether you think they are or aren't, you have to admit, in Series One? They tried the hardest to MAKE them scary.
Also "THEY SURVIVED THROUGH ME" is a really good pants crapping moment.
@JamesOhGoodie i agree. They were definitely on the right track, especially with the episode "Dalek". One Dalek on rampage was definitely scary. And in the finale, with the Dale emperor. Pants crapping indeed. But these days you see millions of them zooming about and they're beaten in an instant. Not very satisfying at all. At least they look like they might be making a comeback in the last two series, when the Doctor WASN't able to defeat them with his hands tied behind his back.

At least he LOOKS like a doctor, not some teenager...
Matt Smith is good in his own way, I guess, but I can't get over his overly young face :P

Nine is right up there with One and Seven in terms of sheer badassery!
AceofGallifrey 3 months ago
@AceofGallifrey Don't forget Six and, especially, Eleven. (And, on occasion, Ten.)
But IMO, Nine tops them all.
ItsSomeDeadGuy 3 months ago
@ItsSomeDeadGuy That's true, Six and Eleven are pretty badass... oh, and Three! Three was basically James Bond with a TARDIS.

@AceofGallifrey In badassery, at least. If he had been on longer, he would've been my favorite Doctor, over Four and Eleven.

I love how the Daleks back up after he yells at them . . . The word "epic" is so overused, but this is one instance where it fits perfectly.
