  • Weak Video. There are lots of people who post videos and disable comments, I was browsing and watching all kinds of videos tonight on the subject of Mormonism and several were disabled, it wasn't the mormons disabling them, it's those posting the anti mormon propaganda. If they allowed comments on that channel, 99.9% of the comments would be foul, contention, anti-mormon literature, and flaming, they don't participate in contentious debate.

  • 1) You can respond to the video's with video responses.

    2) If you respond with a differing point of view and ask questions without being demeaning I am sure it would stay up.

    3) The church, nor it's members respond well to vulgar language, nor do they respond well to endless debates by people who just want the drama of a debate without really seeking answers.

  • Those who believe absurdities will commit atrocities.

  • mormans are the only true church... if you dont believe me just ask my bishop

  • If there so true then why am i not married at a younger age and why do i not have girlfriend right now tell me there so true why couldn't i find anyone right in my ward why was i told by my own members that had watch me get baptized maybe this was not the ward for you? Does your bishop have these answers please? hey one who said ask your bishop hey your bishop can suck my balls dude!

  • thanks for posting this. I left comments on the videos on MormonMessages (the ones that you could) of varying praise, and none of them were critical. They only accepted the most glowing comments and other comments were discarded. A religion that gives you a voice as long as it is unwaiveringly supportive? No thanks, sounds too much like a cult to me.

  • I noticed that when I checked out one of their videos. It seems that they are not very fond of criticism and opposing view points. Makes me wonder...

Sometimes I even wonder if the church leaders are aware of their own "religion" and thus control its followers.

  • Religion is not Science, but it is a philosophy. It involves faith we don't endlessly search the Bible to disprove it, and we don't go around asking every question thrown at us. We try to live a fair, and noble life, but we also try our best to stay faithful. Personally I think America is very unfaithful, How many people go to church now? All I ever see is people in their 50's, and extremely rarely I see teenagers, Maybe like once a month. I tried looking up faith, And oy was the Definition lon

  • Mrnirom does not understand that a church is more about faith, not truth. We believe that is true, we don't scream it's fake, or it's real unike you my friend. Maybe if you picked up some sacred text

you would be more wise, and a better man. Unlike you respect my fellow man as the church has thought me, I never boast, never make false statements just so I can feel superior towards someone else. When you hold something like the Bible, The Torah, and The Qur'an, You become a wiser man.

  • Do you bear you testimony that you "have faith in the church and Joseph Smith" or that "I know the church is true and I know that Joseph was a true prophet."? Every month the latter happens psychologically reinforcing your belief in your head, the former wouldn't do a good job.

  • Your cool accent doesn't make this any more relevant. I was hoping for some insight but was disappointed.

  • Sorry daschlag. I can't please everyone :(

  • I believe in every version of the First Vision. No one tells a story in the same way everytime they tell it. You mold your story to your audience.

Me telling people what I believe.. is much different than telling other people what they believe.. and then ripping their beliefs apart.

Mormons are not on the offensive. We are just tired of anti mormons telling people what and who Mormons are. And the twisted views they have. Just because you don't believe.. doesn't mean it is wrong.

  • "I believe in every version of the First Vision."

All 9 version are very contridictive.

Even the two stories written by Joseph Smith.

Questions after reading all nine versions:

    1. Was it one personage, or two, or was it several angels? In his 1832 account, he said it was ONLY Christ that visited him, not two personages. In an account told by his mother, it was angels, not Jesus or anyone else.

    2. Was it God that told him the other churches were wrong, or was it his conclusion?

  • "No one tells a story in the same way everytime they tell it. "

I just think it's rediculas that Joseph Smith experienced a meeting with God and Jesus (according to the 1838 version), something that no other man in the world has EVER experienced. And then he tells 9 COMPLETELY different stories about the allegid same experience.

He meets with God and Jesus, and forgets the details?

    Riiiigggghhhhttt..

  • Give me the 9 versions you have. Tell me who he was speaking to and then lets look at them one by one.

  • "Give me the 9 versions you have. Tell me who he was speaking to and then lets look at them one by one. "

There is a video on my profile that I made, that outlines the two hand-written versions that Joseph Smith personally authored.

And the links on the right side of my video in the description analyzes the other 7 versions.

    Check it out:

  • I agree that the comments should be blocked. When we are talking about our own Church.. and explaining what we believe.. then there is no need for comments.

I posted one video that just showed how the church has grown in 150 years. The comment made: I see cancer is spreading.. sad.

Well.. who needs dialog like that?

So we have to come to these kind of site.. where the Anti Mormons have gotten upset and decided to post negative things about us.. So we have to defend. I like it!

  • "where the Anti Mormons have gotten upset and decided to post negative things about us.."

If you want a history lesson, visit my videos.

Hope you like them too! =)

  • Trust me Slu.. I don't need a history lesson. As time goes on.. history will reveal itself. I have faith.

So.. what is your story? Were you Mormon?

  • I've got a story that is hard to some up in 500 characters. But thats why I've made 42 videos on this account, and about 10 videos on my utahpirateradio account.

I like to talk about Mormonism though. It's always been a big part of my life, probably always will be since most of my family are LDS.

  • You know.. my family is CAtholic. Being Mormon.. I do not believe what they believe.. but I can tell you this.. I would never create videos putting down the Catholic Church.

Actually.. I would not create a video that put down any religion. I feel everyone has the right to worship who and what they want. It amazes me the amount of time and energy that people put into stuff to denounce religious beliefs. Why don't people worry about themselves and their religion.. and not others?

  • You do what you feel right, I am not trying to tell you to do anything different.

You feel the need to engage people who dispute the authenticity of the LDS apostasy claims, and the anti-other-religion BS that the LDS church is all about.

You have a reverse discrimination against others, just based on Joseph Smith's testimony against other religions in the so-call "First Vision". (which ever of the 9 different accounts of the story that you actually believe?).

    Go ahead, engage away.

  • Slu: The fact is: They can't all be right. And every church also believes they are the right way.. otherwise.. why follow? Do you follow practices that you believe are not true? NO you don't. So every church feels they are the teaching the truth.

The first vision is what God said. And I understand that it is upsetting to many that God would think that their creeds are an abomination to him. But look at it from Gods point of view. Man has changed the image of God.

  • When you are talking about religion, I think ALL of them are man-made.

They all help SOME people get closer to God in fellowship.

However non of the religions is "right".

But it isn't about a religion, it IS about a relationship with God.

    Romans 10:9-10

  • Mr Ballard and co decided to disable the comments.

Suggesting to attack Google would be like a Mormon attacking God for allowing people to choose bad things - stupid. Google did not disable the comments on their account, they did. The responsibility lies with them not Google. If you think that way, then God would be responsible for everybody's actions for permitting them to occur.

  • YouTube comments hardly contribute to the conversation - most are nothing more than ignorant idiots spouting their half-baked ideas; if actual thought was put into half of them, I might see your point.

Besides, maybe you should attack Google (they own YouTube) - they allow you to disable comments. If it is allowed, I don't see how you can bitch and moan about it.

  • lol, what else would you expect from the mormons

  • the know that there gana get bashed cause there freeks

  • Hi Andrew.

Well....Since Elder Ballard is indeed encouraging me as an LDS member to engage in the 'conversation', I guess I'm duty-bound to post a comment :o)

So just for the record, I'm with bluetablepainting. I've been an LDS member for 22 years now, and I've never experienced any censorship. Did you find yourself censored when you were a member ?

    Steve.

  • Hi Steve,

Sorry it's taken eleven months to reply.

"Did you find yourself censored when you were a member ?" Does it even matter - your 22 years (almost 23 now) you've never experienced it. So what if I have? What bearing does that have on you?

    Andrew

  • Hi again.

You say in the video that the Church censors its members. I was asking to understand what sort of censorship this is. As I say, I've not personally experienced any, hence the question.

    Steve.

  • I was baptized LDS at age 15 and I've been going strong for 23 years! I only speak for myself here: I've never had the slightest sensation of being censored. Any question is OK in a Sunday School class. We discuss what we want. If I didn't like it, I would leave. Everything is done of free will and choice. Everything was explained to me clearly beforehand; I prayed sincerely about it and I got my answer.

  • Pretty weak argument.

  • I JUST made a video about mormons trying to get my pictures down that are offensive to them. I just put it up. I love this video, very true. Keep it up.

  • Awesome vid yourself!

  • It's not limiting dialog. You act like because they don't want to have to monitor, or be responsible for, anyone and everyone on youtube posting things on their channel that they're censoring, such a view would mean that ANYONE who posts something on the internet, without giving means for people to comment on the content on the self same page, that such constitutes censorship.

  • If they don't want to be responsible for that, then they shouldn't come to the party.

I'm ok with them not allowing dissent on their videos. Truth in advertising is good.

  • If they don't want to be responsible for that then they do what they've done.

If you think it says something horrible about the Church then that's your ill formed prerogative to do so, it doesn't make it such.

  • Wow. What program did you use to get the screen captures? (It's quite clear).

  • Paparazzi! - it's a Freeware Mac application. If your not on a Mac and need some screens let me know.

  • Hey thanks man! Much appreciated. :)

  • what else would you expect of religion

  • Nothing :)!
