Wow, thanks so much! Been trying to f**king find a way to defeat these things instead of the 'Spam Death Spell' method! Works like a charm. I can defeat them in less than 1 minute, which makes grinding for Traps and money so much more bearable!

this is a little off topic but ive gotten to the final barthandelus...i can beat his first form but when he combines with edin and orphan i cant do anything about it...i get about halfway and he uses the opposite extremes thing and then eventually kills me...ive done something wrong in training and stuff cuz it seems like my ppl are under leveled...im using lightning with 5,000 hp and 1300 strength... hope with 4,500 hp and 1300 magic..and fan with i think about 6,000 hp and 1100 strength.
@ohgreknight I forgot to mention,i figured out an easy way awhile back but i didnt mention it (yes, i beat the second orhpan with the same amount of leveled people mentioned earlier) except i didnt use fang, i used vanille,using a sentinel was a waste of time, just have vanille cast poison, then the other three status inflictions she can caste, power up with hope, and just keep staggering

@TheJaredThingy oh I know that pal, I meant with synthesize ability, there are some weapons that when combined with some accessory can have an Synthesize ability like "Random:Instant Chain". example my Lightning has a Lionheart * it has passive ability to instant stager an enemy when they are close to stager. if you you combine it with an Energy Sach or Speed Sach it creates a Instant Chain ability which occasionally it can stagger an enemy in 1 shot. you should try that. found out it works!
There is another way of kill adamantoise. You have to use attrition with you as Vanille and you team mates as snow (for the HP) and Hope (for the healing) start off with Hope as Synergist and as soon as the fight starts have Vanille summon. Get rid of the eidolon quick, now that the beast is on his knees cast Death until he dies. If you change Hope to a healer after he has cast haste and protect on everyone your chances increase.
For those who are looking for an easier way to level up until your stronger, here is what you can fight Cactaurs.
A Giant Cactaurs (regular cactaur changes twice) will give you 30k CP (with Growth Egg). The only problem is that is uses 1,000 Needles every 5 seconds which can inflict Pain and Fog on your party members, so be sure to prepare for that.
I use :
Fang (Leader)
Hope
Sazh
When you start the fight if you hit the cactaur he will stop changing and you will get very low CP. Set everyone

@cancersback4ever I don't like her either but she is the best commando tbh. I prefer Snow, his HP makes up for fang doing slightly more damage. Sazh is technically the worst.
@SkyyVodkaa no sazh can get to 3000 attack his blitz is one of the strongest moves in the game it has no damage limit beacuse its a scatter shot that can do mass amounts of damage fast all the characters has there ups and downs no one is better it all depends on who your fighting

just a suggestion..maybe you should manually choose thunder when playing fang as blaster coz running to its legs will increase the chance of being stepped and the speed is low..so I would select 6 thunders, breaking it and highwind it.

this shit does not work on AdamTOISE for me.... the guy doesnt stay down long enough for us to kill him with the Aggression paradigm... might need Cerberus... idk... he just has too much more HP than the AdamanTORtoise

@Manciuin86 Maxing out CP turns out to not be all the hard really, but farming enough gil to get ultimate weapons and/or all-item tophy/achievement takes longer--i.e., why you farm this things even with max CP.
This guy has all the stuff u need from grinding turtles, ultimate weapons and i think hes maxed his crystarium. I wish someone would post a vid on how to grind these with stage 9 and a half crystarium.

@Cycolon Might be a liitle late but if you still do not know.... collectors catalog aims for items drop rate but the upgraded conn catalog aim for RARE item drop rate. Which means collector aims for platinum ingot and conn aims for Trapezohedron. However,only 1 of Each will Suffice as they DO NOT STACK. Collect and conn will stack but collect , collect and conn , conn does not stack and does NOT doubles your opportunity to get items.
@Cycolon i recommend going to eden,leviathan plaza to farm,there is one adamantoise guarding the big space and can be respawned by walking to the big door to eden eden grand foyer . Now im farming at eden plaza for ingots and got 25 plati and 7 trapz in 2 days. The trick i did is to kill the toise 5 times and see if he drop anything. if he does then i continue if he doesn't than i reload the save and do again. Sometime i get platinum ingot streak... LOL I think Max is five.
thats because when you 5 star a Long Gui (or whatever it is) rare drops (being the Trap) will increase by 5 ... in other words .. .getting a Trap w/o 5 starring a Long Gui is a 5% chance ... w 5 stars ... 25% yet negates getting a Ingot.
hey guys i have a question when do you get the person with the staff and how long is the game because my friends keep telling me you dont need to farm or grind until you finish chapter 11 also for example if i were to make lightning my leader and snow and sazh in my party sazh a medic and snow a buffer how would i get them to use the stuff i need them to use?
i see your HP is about 20000 each .. i have finished the game and they all are under 10000 .. but i can't kill this big ass turtle ! and if i get to 20000 HP each there will not be any point in killing it ..because basically i wanna kill it to gain levels faster .. i wish there was a way to do it even with low HP as mine .. otherwise i will not play this game anymore : /
@Seiferzed It's about the same with me. Each character has about 10,000 hp (with accessories) and all I did was summon Bahamut at the beginning and stagger it, then switch to Relentless Assault, and use Highwind at the end of the stagger. One thing I should point out is that I upgraded all of their weapons to the max without the tetro-whatever. (PS my party is Fang/Lightning/Hope and their main role level is level 5)
1st, ur vanille. use Premeditation paradigm, Saboteur/ Sentinel/Synergist for Vanille, Snow and Hope. at d start of d battle Summon her eidolon 2 disable the 'toise's legs. once youve done that send the eidolon away; u only need it to send the toise tumbling down. now Hope wil cast haste and oda buffs, while you repeatedly cast Death on the toise till it well, dies, lol.
thing is u can use this even if ur not maxed out in all d crystals.

Seems it is possible to use Hope intead of Vanille but he's a terrible sab. Maybe I'll try making him a rav to see if that works out. Thanks for the guidance though! It really helped me take these things down.
Which is the best place to farm? People say its Eden since there is one next to the save point and all you gotta do is go back and forth through the door and have it respawn...but in Gran Pulse there's like 4 of those turtles and if you go the Springs and accept that mission with another Adaman, there would be 5 of them....
My characters have more strength and magic than yours, but when I try to Highwind a leg (staggered and at 600% chain bonus) it still doesn't kill the leg... Help?
how many levels are your characters chystarium levels. im on sacz eidolon battle and everyone has only lv 2 such as commando. and how do get that much atb bars?

@motherofgod4 Once your Crystarium is maxed out, Fang should have 24000 HP even. I'm maxed, and that's her HP as of right now. With different equipment, it should go up, but all I have on her right now is for strength.
Max your Crystarium and your Hp will go up. at the end you have 4 slots. to get Growth Egg you need to beat Neochu in a Mission and then you´ll get it as a reward there. Hes completed the game which unlocks Lvl 10 for the Crystarium.

I'm almost down to 2 last Role Levels for my main characters to max them out completely to be sure they're over 9000 times stronger than ever--with weapons and accessories upgrade of course! I've gotten the Genji Glove and now I'm gonna have to fight those big ass turtles to get Platinum Ingots to upgrade my weapons!
BTW I think it's faster if you farm the turtle at Eden. Just clear the area of Juggernauts and Behemoths, and you can make the turtle respawn if you walk to where the last Juggernaut was. Shorter walk, but only 1 turtle... and it'll still be there even after you finish Titan's trials, unlike these two... the Juggernauts and Behemoths won't respawn unless you pick a fight with the Sanctum Corps.
let me get this straight (after reading the description) You are able to still play after you beat the game. Do you just save your game after the credits and you appear outside of the final boss chamber. is there like a warp or somthing?
@Nights19234 Yes after you beat the last boss...watch evrything and it will ask you to save...I chose a new save data...then youll be at the last save..although you cant go back to the last "dungeon" of the game...it teleports you from the last save to the beginning of where you entered the whole pink place..
@hikusaak4 if you have a maxed out party you don't need to summon i got omega weapon for vanille and get him down in 3-5 trys but most people do it wrong and don't saboteur him to incress chances but i do repect your comment if i had maxed out stats i prob would fight them by hand too.
Death spam is faster got me my Trapezohedron quick only takes 1-2 minutes with high magic using vanille and summon for a kill and you don't need to have maxed out stats ether you can even do this before lvl 5 and guys he got the extra bar because he had a weapon upgraded with a Trapezohedron :]
@finalfantasyfan64 Ive used the Death method, but I want to do this instead because 1.) The Death method doesn't always work and 2.) I don't want to have to fight random enemies to refill my TP after every battle.

Acquiring & finishing this mission, #24, should take no more than 75 seconds
It is available to repeat once the tower boss is defeated
334 missions will take 7 hours
100% chance of:
2 million gil (cost of a Trapezehedron)
2 million CP

1 Trap + 1.5 mil gil can be turned into into 3 traps, for 1/2 million profit each time:

for me the best place for CP are the Garden in Eden... enemy easy e fast (because figh between them)
in 30 minutes (or less) gains 200.000 CP.
this for gamer to begin... if I have 20.000 hp gain CP are usless...

@Cycolon Might be a liitle late but if you still do not know.... collectors catalog aims for items drop rate but the upgraded conn catalog aim for RARE item drop rate. Which means collector aims for platinum ingot and conn aims for Trapezohedron. However,only 1 of Each will Suffice as they DO NOT STACK. Collect and conn will stack but collect , collect and conn , conn does not stack and does NOT doubles your opportunity to get items.

@Cycolon i recommend going to eden,leviathan plaza to farm,there is one adamantoise guarding the big space and can be respawned by walking to the big door to eden eden grand foyer . Now im farming at eden plaza for ingots and got 25 plati and 7 trapz in 2 days. The trick i did is to kill the toise 5 times and see if he drop anything. if he does then i continue if he doesn't than i reload the save and do again. Sometime i get platinum ingot streak... LOL I think Max is five.

thats because when you 5 star a Long Gui (or whatever it is) rare drops (being the Trap) will increase by 5 ... in other words .. .getting a Trap w/o 5 starring a Long Gui is a 5% chance ... w 5 stars ... 25% yet negates getting a Ingot.

i see your HP is about 20000 each .. i have finished the game and they all are under 10000 .. but i can't kill this big ass turtle ! and if i get to 20000 HP each there will not be any point in killing it ..because basically i wanna kill it to gain levels faster .. i wish there was a way to do it even with low HP as mine .. otherwise i will not play this game anymore : /

@Seiferzed It's about the same with me. Each character has about 10,000 hp (with accessories) and all I did was summon Bahamut at the beginning and stagger it, then switch to Relentless Assault, and use Highwind at the end of the stagger. One thing I should point out is that I upgraded all of their weapons to the max without the tetro-whatever. (PS my party is Fang/Lightning/Hope and their main role level is level 5)

great method; i know anoda way!
1st, ur vanille. use Premeditation paradigm, Saboteur/ Sentinel/Synergist for Vanille, Snow and Hope. at d start of d battle Summon her eidolon 2 disable the 'toise's legs. once youve done that send the eidolon away; u only need it to send the toise tumbling down. now Hope wil cast haste and oda buffs, while you repeatedly cast Death on the toise till it well, dies, lol.
thing is u can use this even if ur not maxed out in all d crystals.

Hey, thanks for sharing this thing, you're technique has been most useful to me.
I'm using it on Eden Hall and I believe I can save just a couple of minutes, but it is basically just what you are doing. I'll attach my video as a response once I manage to get it uploaded.
By the way, fantastic quality on the video, I wish I had a HDMI capture to get a great quality on the video I'm posting later.

Seems it is possible to use Hope intead of Vanille but he's a terrible sab. Maybe I'll try making him a rav to see if that works out. Thanks for the guidance though! It really helped me take these things down.

Which is the best place to farm? People say its Eden since there is one next to the save point and all you gotta do is go back and forth through the door and have it respawn...but in Gran Pulse there's like 4 of those turtles and if you go the Springs and accept that mission with another Adaman, there would be 5 of them....

My characters have more strength and magic than yours, but when I try to Highwind a leg (staggered and at 600% chain bonus) it still doesn't kill the leg... Help?

@Lexaeus1234 Probably you dont have GGloves equiped. Withouy GG your highwind's max damage is 2 hits of 99k each and each leg has more than 300k.

These guys gave me a Trapazehedron three times in a row. I'm getting those more than platnium ingots. But at this point in the game, what I need is ingots so I can buy exp for the weapons. This is stupid.

@motherofgod4 Once your Crystarium is maxed out, Fang should have 24000 HP even. I'm maxed, and that's her HP as of right now. With different equipment, it should go up, but all I have on her right now is for strength.

Max your Crystarium and your Hp will go up. at the end you have 4 slots. to get Growth Egg you need to beat Neochu in a Mission and then you´ll get it as a reward there. Hes completed the game which unlocks Lvl 10 for the Crystarium.

Great vid, I started doing this with Fang at 14k HP, Light and Vanille at 12k. With some physical damage reduction items this strat worked well.

I'm almost down to 2 last Role Levels for my main characters to max them out completely to be sure they're over 9000 times stronger than ever--with weapons and accessories upgrade of course! I've gotten the Genji Glove and now I'm gonna have to fight those big ass turtles to get Platinum Ingots to upgrade my weapons!

BTW I think it's faster if you farm the turtle at Eden. Just clear the area of Juggernauts and Behemoths, and you can make the turtle respawn if you walk to where the last Juggernaut was. Shorter walk, but only 1 turtle... and it'll still be there even after you finish Titan's trials, unlike these two... the Juggernauts and Behemoths won't respawn unless you pick a fight with the Sanctum Corps.

let me get this straight (after reading the description) You are able to still play after you beat the game. Do you just save your game after the credits and you appear outside of the final boss chamber. is there like a warp or somthing?

@Nights19234 Yes after you beat the last boss...watch evrything and it will ask you to save...I chose a new save data...then youll be at the last save..although you cant go back to the last "dungeon" of the game...it teleports you from the last save to the beginning of where you entered the whole pink place..

@hikusaak4 if you have a maxed out party you don't need to summon i got omega weapon for vanille and get him down in 3-5 trys but most people do it wrong and don't saboteur him to incress chances but i do repect your comment if i had maxed out stats i prob would fight them by hand too.

Death spam is faster got me my Trapezohedron quick only takes 1-2 minutes with high magic using vanille and summon for a kill and you don't need to have maxed out stats ether you can even do this before lvl 5 and guys he got the extra bar because he had a weapon upgraded with a Trapezohedron :]

@finalfantasyfan64 Ive used the Death method, but I want to do this instead because 1.) The Death method doesn't always work and 2.) I don't want to have to fight random enemies to refill my TP after every battle.
