  • I suppose you could also wear something bulletproof on your head... but does that in any way reflect reality? If the Petzl has good enough impact resistance for the worst one may expect, yet still be comfortable enough that I can climb well, then what do I care if my helmet can support the weight of a tractor trailer (or resist a sledge hammer)?

  • so you can decide whats better... open head wound or broken neck...

but i hope no rock with that kind of power like the hammer hits you ;)

unfortunatelly my english isnt that great, but i hope this consideration helped ;)

  • two differences, the petzl helmet has another shape and holes for ventilation, the camp is more like a half ball, the power from the hammer is guided right to the floor, the hammer impacts with the flat side...

the petzl shape guides the force from the impact into the helmet so that the energy from the impact gets lowered because of the deform of plastic ... and the hammer doesnt impact with the flat side as much...

this is a little consideration about the mechanic behind those helmets...

  • wow...huge difference

  • Reeeeaaaaaaaaalllllyyyyy interesting!
