The way the memorial is set-up, the section where the statue sits is supposed to represent the attic in which she and her family hid. So the statue is supposed to be her peaking out the window to catch a glimpse of the world outside their attic.
I can't even imagine what it would be like to go through that. Anyway, I read Anne Frank's diary when I was in school, but it's been a long time. I did read portions of it while I was making this video to help refresh my memory.
You are very welcome. Though I've never seen Auschwitz, I was able to see the Dachau concentration camp while traveling in Europe and it definitely changed me.
Thank you very much. I'm currently waiting for your video about the subject to load, but I want to say that I share your un-explainable feelings about the subject.
But would they have contracted typhus if they weren't held in such horrible conditions? Possible, but not likely that such a large number of people would have. Also, even if the numbers aren't completely accurate, it was still an incredibly horrible event. I don't care if it was millions of people or one person, it's still wrong to murder, discriminate, or otherwise unfairly treat a human being based simply on religious beliefs, ethnicity, race, age, gender, sexual orientation, etc.
Sorry I ran out of room in the last response, but I wanted to add that even though the numbers quoted in this video may not be completely accurate, considering record keeping wasn't exactly high on the list of priorities for the Nazis it's not surprising we don't have accurate numbers, I still think it's neccesary to remember the events that occured and those who's lives would never be the same, if they even lived through it.

You made my four and half year in Auschwitz...
I empty all four "big" gas chambers on clothes every hour... 12 to 14 hours a day... seven days a week...
Zyklon B dust in all clothes made I have skinless food- and air- throat...
I lived Auschwitz I block 9...
My prison numbers where 6214...
I delete the tattoo on my arm whet horse nail...
Two days before death march...
Any way...Have you read Anne Frank's diary ..?
