kevin costner is an ok actor he had his high point in dances with wolves only because he became an injun ... i do however feel kurt is the best of all three hes been acting since the dawn of man he used to act in disney movies so ya ... and val kilmer is the best doc EVER! Doc woulda been like wow i never knew i was so hawt ... the real doc was a dentist and had tb so he wasnt a doc very long legends distort the truth but if it was up to me id pick THIS version

One thing I don't get at all. At 5:05 Virgil acts like it's Wyatt's fault he got shot. But Wyatt never told him to be a martial. In fact it was the opposite wasn't it?

the costner film is WAY more historically acurate, but this one is SO much better film wise.
who cares whose the better actor over all, your watching a tombstone clip. This movie has so many good lines and senses it is amazing that it as obscure as it is. I saw it on tv one day and ive watched it so many times i find it hard to imagine another movie coming along i would ever like more

Actually, Virgil and Morgan weren't ambushed on the same night. Virgil was shot in December, 1881 and Morgan in March 1882.

i disagree, i think the Costner film sucks, plus Kevin Costner isn't half the actor Kurt Russell is, he looks exactly like Wyatt Earp! But Kilmer is amazing as Holliday

Agree. Costner in general is a terrible actor. Kurt Russell personified Wyatt Earp and Val Kilmer made Dennis Quaid look like a schmuck.
BTW, I'm a cinema major, and have been studying films for a long time. This is probably in the top five westerns ever made.

you have to be one the worst cinema majors if you think kevin costner in general is a terrible actor...you dumb shit go watch field of dreams, bull durham, jfk, and tin cup. kurt russell is a fine actor and so is kevin costner. to say costner sucks is just plain stupid. i think tombstone is the better movie but i'll give costner the respect he deserves...open range, dances with wolves, mr brooks...yeah i've made my point.
