That's some awesome playing man, thanks for sharing! Given that this is not professionally recorded I think the criticism of your "dynamics" is unfair, they're there alright.
It was a bit of rushed performance in front of a rather large audience for a student recital, and distracting with the kids runing around and talking. I was anxious to get down to the beach where manolo sanlucar was performing for the first time in 25 years in his hometown! And it was going on while I was playing this!
you apparently are heavily influenced by Vicente Amigo. That's ok..we can ALL be traced back to our influences. nothing wrong with that! You're on the way man..just keep you're ears and eyes open and you'll do just fine.. Good luck always.
Ricardo, I like the buleria so much...and also your Solea from the other video is really great. I don't know whether you write your stuff down, but if you do so is it possible to get some notes or tabs or something? I would of course also pay for it.
Ricardo, I'm 14 right now and I want to know when you started playing guitar and if you were playing at my age and how long you practised at my age if you played when you were 14.
I started at 12. When I was 14 I played everyday after school, and listened to music all day and night if I could. I played Electric at first. 4hrs a day on average. I had to do school work and stayed up very late. I was always tired until the weekend, I would sleep all day saturday. I would say I played guitar almost every day since then, but not so many hrs any more. I started learning flamenco at about 21 years old, and it was like learning from the beginning again.
Hey, I went to guitar school with Ricardo when we were in our early 20's. Just to give you an idea of how much this guy practiced - we were there for 3 years together and except for when we were in class, he ALWAYS had his guitar in hand. Between classes, when we would hang out after school, every time i saw him...seriously, always.
practice and dedication go a long, long way...of course Ricardo has a ton of raw talent and that never hurts either ;-)
Yeah man it's Bonvillain. Love hearing you play again man. Let me know when I can snag a CD or something, i'll be all over it. and when i'm back in DC, i'll definitely be trying to find a performance i can check out :-)
great!the best bulerias I ever heard! is this your own composition? you are one of the best guitarrist in my opiniion, not only in terms of technique, but also in terms of interpretation and emotion.
This was the student recital of those in the curso of Gerardo Nuñez. It was open to the public, there were two bars in the back and kids playing. It was meant to be rather casual and fun. Those watching could sit close in chairs. My friend filming stood WAY in the back.
The greatest here is the way the rondena becomes the buleria at 2:43. The buleria is really beautiful, sad, nostalgic, precious, played "a compas" without the palmas. A work of passion, fire and grace...
