  • Avatar made over a billion dollars it was meant to be a popcorn movie. Hurt locker was an art film with a message. They both were successful, it's stupid to compare those movies.

  • @dpthomas37 You dork, lol.

  • she's 2 old 2 b wearing those kinda clothes. cover up grandma

  • Wow. She ducked that question like crazy, but she's an awesome director.

  • District 9 deserved Best Picture, not this over-bloated with propaganda Hurt Locker. D9 was a FAR better movie. The Oscars are a joke.

  • Movies about war are generally not much entertainment, because a war is never interesting.

I wonder what is the real reason behind her winning Best Picture?

  • @TheBoomViper unfortumately war movies are very interesting AND entertaining vor many people, if it were not so, they would not be made...

plus: dont tell me, that you were not extremely excited and interested in what was going on, when you saw the first pictures of us-troops on iraqui soil

its just the way it is man, when there is war, there is something going on :/ ... :(

  • she's almost 60 but looks no older than 40, wow

  • @captdavidwebb it's called plastic surgery

  • I'm happy that she's a trail blazer for women in Hollywood but at the same time....booooinnng! I would love her to "direct" me; preferably while she's wearing black shiny stiletto boots.

  • keep dreaming prick. go jerk off to internet porn

  • @thx291: She's definitely a hunt-worthy MILF --- a GMILF, really.

  • look at all of these retards. this amazing woman directed a great movie, put up with tons of bullshit while doing it, and all you retards do is comment on her looks.

just shut up, all of you. dumbasses.

  • Avatar #1

  • @eggbertsmith

I don't want to see your idea of a beautiful woman if you don't think Kathryn Bigelow is beautiful.

  • @eggbertsmith

clearly doesnt get pussy and/or hates women

  • I would love to be "directed" by her

  • I should have had the lead role in The Hurt Locker. And if given the chance i think Katherine Bigelow, would have cast me in the lead role. Im in Pontiac, Michigan. Come get me Katherine Bigelow.

  • She's hot, I don't care what anyone else says.

  • Kathryn Bigelow is an amazing director and hurt locker is the best movie i've seen for a long while. phxsns1 , good point well made. Karlsmith00 you r coming across as an insecure idiot . you may not be one, but you certainly sound like one and i'm fairly sure that Kathryn Bigelow, who is a very talented and secure human being would not want you on her side.

  • I'm glad that when she accepted the award and made her speech, she didn't turn it into some kind of women equality thing. Not to mention she really deserved it.

  • who cares if she would have turned it into a "women equality thing"? it's historic, no woman has won before. she's opening doors. if a black man had won it, i'm sure he would have mentioned that..

but i'm sure no one would say that about race. get over it, people are so angry when women are successful and mention that it's something special. especially jealous males who know they'll never even come close to accomplishing what this woman has. grow up little boy.

  • It would have been annoying. I'm not angry that she is successful. She's earned her success. I loved The Hurt Locker, and I can't wait for future films directed by her.

  • no sweetie. it would have been "annoying" to you because you're a frustrated little boy who gets upset when women are successful and say that they're opening doors for other women.

she's had to work twice as hard to get where she is even though she's better than most men. it's not "annoying" to mention that, just like it wouldn't be annoying to mention it if a black person had won.

but since you're male, i understand this goes way over your head. go play call of duty or something, okay?

  • I just thought it was nice that she accepted the award like any of the other directors nominated would have.

  • haha! What...like the men?!! haha! Jesus.

The male directors didn't have to fight sexism to get where they are today. KB did and will still have to. Please educate yourself. Backlash by Susan Faludi would be a good place to start for you.

  • Who are you to say what a person will and will not achieve in his life? Get over yourself.

  • who are you to tell me to get over it? who is he to say anything about kathryn bigelow?

shut up and get over it. she won the oscar, that's what's important.

  • Are you blind as well as chauvinistic? It reads 'get over YOURSELF'. You may think you can see the future, but these are just your delusions of grandeur.

  • @phxsns1

the hurt locker was really good.

it's the best iraq war movies i've ever seen...

she should deserved an oscar because the hurt locker was better than avatar ..not visually but overall the movie was better than avatar

  • Yes....

  • Why? It IS about equality, in part. She is an incredible director but there is no denying that women are terribly discriminated against in Hollywood, especially as directors. Men discriminate against women and try to hold them back. Obviously, it's an equality issue. It's just a shame that people like you are too scared (or too stupid) to acknowledge what's really happening.
