No. It functions mechanically like real Mauser. Could be made to fire if you made bullets but the steel in bolt and bolt stop are questionable. I bought mine 5 years ago for $1800 USD. Last I heard the factory in Russia was surrounded by law and was not in opperation. I do not know about now. Contact "Russian Imperial Armory" I think it was called. Barrel is Not rifled on mine.
